This is one of our special occasion places. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere is very nice. My wife and I always enjoy The Mantel.
Although I have often eaten here when I'm in OKC, this time it wasn't as good as I remembered. Most of the food was good... but the filet steaks were tough and overcooked. On the plus side the manager cooked us new ones correctly. On the minus side the meat was still tough.
It was just okay nothing special no extraordinary service or atmosphere
Great food and atmosphere. Enjoyed the wine and fish.
Slower side on food, but not too bad. The scallops were great. Steak was a little over charred.
The crab cake was mushy with not a discernible piece of crab, the lobster bisque was absent of any pieces of lobster and both were warm at best. That’s the good part.
I ordered the Blackened Halibut while my wife ordered the tuna they had on special that night.
The halibut was so over cooked it was dry and lacked flavor. My wife’s tuna had what looked to be a beef gravy covering it and was hideous. Both meals were slightly warm, the potato sides were so cold they had set up. Two very small samples from either of us and we knew we would not eat this food.
We told our waiter about our food and he was very apologetic, it didn’t seem like the first time he had heard this. The waiter told the manager about the meal but the manager just kept walking by our table as if we did not exist.
The waiter asked if we wanted new meals but we declined on the basis of what we had seen already.
We were not charged for the meal, only the drinks we had ordered. We went back to the motel and and ordered a pizza for supper.
We had planned on a nice night out and a great supper but that obviously did not happen.
Wonderful food, wonderful ambiance, wonderful service, wonderful experience!
We got the confirmation email for our reservation. When we showed up for the reservation there was a paper on the door saying that it was closed due to weather. Never got a cancellation email. They were open earlier in the day which is why we thought we would try it. Luckily red primesteak was able to get us in without a reservation and it was excellent. Based on other reviews of this place I would bypass it anyway.
I made the reservation to celebrate Valentine's Day with my husband. No where on the website did it say there would be a limited menu. We did not want to spend $75/person for a meal that was not what we wanted, so we chose to leave. Given the high demand for reservations on that particular night, we were unable to get in anywhere for a romantic celebration. Due to the Mantel's poor advertising informing patrons of what to expect, our Valentine's plans were ruined. You should not be charged 4 star prices for 1 star service. Highly disappointed.
I ended up not going, but I will say I was not a fan of being asked 2 weeks prior to my reservation if I would be using the fixed menu or standard menu. I don't know what I want to eat 2 weeks ahead of time. When I said I was undecided, the person said they will cancel my reservation and try again once I decide. I understand it makes planning valentine's day weekend easier for the restaurant, but I really didn't like how it was handled.
Real Chefs ! Real Food ! and they can accommodate your request ! (my wife is a vegetarian)
Loved it. Food was amazing, especially the bananas foster. All staff were friendly. Setting was intimate.
We arrived at our reserved time and were met with a staff that was on top of the evening. Our table was ready and we were seated immediately. Our server Brigham was attentive and knowledgeable. Management was also appropriately attentive to the guests. The food was (as usual) extraordinary. The evening was just what was needed after a long frazzled work week. Highly recommend.
Went to The Mantel for the first time with some friends. The food was good, but not great. I was VERY disappointed their online menu didn’t reflect their actual menu. I understand with COVID, this can happen. But, it’s my opinion the restaurant should keep their menu updated online to avoid this. I had planned on getting the rack of lamb, but this wasn’t an option. They had a lamb shank, but it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. The atmosphere wasn’t up to par with the prices. The most disappointing thing about the evening was the creme brûlée. That’s my favorite dessert, but it has a weird fishy taste to it.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly. My steak was done perfectly!! I would highly recommend. Our only complaint was it was very cold in the restaurant. Thankfully , they adjusted after someone asked them to.
The mantle is extremely outdated. The patio was in disrepair. The food was mediocre at best and the price of the food was too high for quality and portions. The waiter was nice. The cocktails were something that my grandmother would have ordered 10 years ago. They need to get current with their menus or they will go out of business.
Always had a good meal. Like it a lot.
Just don't go. We were very disappointed. First they didn't have any beer. Then they literally only had one bottle of Rose wine (served room temperature) in the entire restaurant. Our friend ordered a Mojito but they didn't have any Mint. The service was LESS than adequate for a restaurant of that quality. It took forever to get all of our appetizers. We had to ask for the rest of our order and then the waiter finally brought it as if he forgot. The food was good but when I am eating a $300 dinner I expect the service and drink menu to be up tp par. Also I forgot to mention that for the first half of our dinner the woman's restroom was out of order and we had to use the men's. Gross!!
Always have great service and great food when we dine here.
The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent.
This place has gone down. The carrots were hard, they don’t have banana foster which they are known for and the waiter stepped on my husbands foot three times because they don’t social distance the tables. No hand sanitizer and the toothpicks were loose with plastic wrap. Just sad to see this place going down. Hope after COVID they get back to the old Mantle.
The food is pricey but worth it. My wife and I have been coming here to celebrate for years and every time has been wonderful
Been going once a year the last 2 years because it was (used to) be great. This year we invite a friend and everything sucked. Slow service, loud people at the next table even when it (restaurant) was mostly empty. Food was terrible. Scallops were either old, dried up or over cooked. The glazed salmon was just as bad. The sides that were served carrots etc also bad. We told the waiter but the manager never came to discuss. No discount was offered and our bill was still over $220.00 for 3 people with NO alcohol drinks.
WE WON'T BE RETURNING AGAIN.
Awesome place and the staff was friendly I love this place
After wanting to try this place for over a year I finally got the chance and will be back! My party was a birthday dinner with 4 people. I had the filet and it was HEAVENLY.
Proposal, everything was amazing! Even brought out Champaign after the proposal!
Wife's birthday 4th time there, smaller and more personal service. We like it
Received great service! Loved the food and wine!❤️. Great place for special date.
Very good as usual. Food service ambiance all is good.
Went there for my birthday dinner. Wanted to try someplace that my wife and I hadn’t been. I had the scallops, which were very tasty, although a little cold. Wife had the filet (requested medium) but was closer to well done and pretty dry. The music was fun and the ambiance was nice (darker inside). The waiter was very attentive, although he had mentioned a birthday dessert. So when he offered dessert I accepted, but the charge ended up on the bill. Had a really nice wine that I would have regularly. Overall, it was ok but not sure if I’d return.
Service was a little slow for as many people that were in the restaurant. New York Strip was tough. Ordered medium rare but tough and fatty. Mashed potatoes very dense and tasteless.
Great experience would definitely recommend for friends and family
We live in Michigan and we were passing through on our way to Texas. Spotted Mantels in the magazine and gave it a try. Food was outstanding I had the roasted duck and my wife
Had Mahi Tuna All great. Service was a tad rushed, liquor inventory low. Would stop back if in the area
It was ok. Food was good for the most part. Service was ok, not what I would have hoped for what we paid. They sudden did not have any precautions for COVID
Amazing food, great atmosphere. Will definitely eat here again while visiting Bricktown
We went to dinner for our anniversary. It was delicious the staff was amazing and it was definitely worth the price.
Took several guests to this restaurant and it was excellent. They have a good wine selection and the food was excellent. I will be back.
We had a very nice time and will return when in OKC
There for an Anniversary dinner, and wanted to savor our time together. Instead we felt rushed by our waitress, like she was trying to push us out. Didn't realize that there was going to be a limited menu either due to Covid restrictions. Food was good, atmosphere was great.
Great service, enjoyed our food, plan on a repeat visit.
