The Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro
We also offer an extensive wine list, with 36 wines available by the glass and over 100 available by the bottle.
Our staff is well trained in wine knowledge and cuisine, therefore we are happy to answer or suggest selections for our guests.
We offer wonderful desserts, with our Chocolate Gateau, Carnegy Deli New York Cheesecake, and tableside Bananas Foster.
We look forward to seeing you at the Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro.
Some of the steak sauces were a little over salted, and I’m a salt lover. This does seem to be a trend in steak houses. The wine list offers great variety and decent value. It has a cozy bistro atmosphere and customers seem to enjoy sitting at the small bar. It’s priced more for people who have generous expense accounts. It is a more elegant venue than some other places in Bricktown where the restaurant norm is quantity without so much quality.
Food of this quality usually costs more than it did at The Mantle when combined with the value of very good service in a quiet atmosphere that is perfect for date night. They seem to be mindful of keeping a manageable number of menu offerings, then doing those quite well. Our waiter was reasonably familiar with the wine list and made a good suggestion for pairing with our entrees.
We ended up being 5, starting with the Calamari Steak Milanese a delicious and unusual change to the typical 'fried calamari', that and another shared plate was a great starter.
Two of my guests, myself and another guest had the Steak feature a Ribeye with spicy tomato glaze served with a vegetable side featuring multiple colors of cauliflower. Outstand and certainly enuf for takehome.
My other guest chose one of the two seafood specials which i believe they called a seatini served in a steamless martini glass with a baselayer of crab risotto, a citrus poached lobster tail, grilled prawns, and diver's scallops. What she didn't eat got shared a bite here and there, and i think her hubby licked the glass clean (haha).
Unfortunately we were all too stuffed to have enjoyed any of the deserts and thats unfortunate because they will do tableside Bananas Foster the NOLA way which has been great when i've partaken in the past!
I will make plans to return very soon, thanks for a Great Evening 'Mantel'!
My steak was not cooked done. I didn’t want to complain. The shrimp were delicious. Very bland everything else.
Our server Luis was fantastic!!
The salmon was delicious. Wine was really good but the salad was simply okay.
Very good food!
Went for my 5 year anniversary as this was the place my wife and I went on our first date. 5 years ago our experience was very good. This time around my Delmonico steak had zero flavor. Wife’s “special” of a sirloin and 2 bay scallops was $60 and very bland as well. Very disappointing.
The server was horrible, i decided to go here for my birthday dinner and my evening here was awful. I’m glad I can not the restaurant off my list.
The seasonal short rib cannelloni was the best thing we had all day. The filet mignon had great flavor, and the Julia Child’s potatoes were decadent and lovely. Very nice vibe.
The Mantel is always remarkable in every way!
Expected better due to reviews. That wasn’t the case.
Food is always great and perfect for a date night.
Food was delicious. We both had the 8oz filet; and, it came with sides! Service was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Look forward to visiting again.
A delightful evening with my bride made special with the food and service at the Manel before going to the Lyric.
The food and service are always excellent.
We have been to Mantel multiple times with a great experience, however this recent experience was below our standards. Our food was extremely salty, crab cakes had a flavor more served in Mexican cuisine, our wine was oxidized, and our steaks were not like steaks in the past. We ordered a filet and a Delmonico and could not tell the difference between the two steaks. This made us wonder if we even got the steaks we paid for. There was very shady things going on throughout the night including what appeared to be a drug deal right in the middle of the restaurant. Multiple staff followed a non staff member out of the restaurant then returned acting very strange. This place truly needs an overhaul. Very dissatisfied with our 300$ meal.
It was not worth the price. They never tell you the price of the specials and $148 later WOW. It worth that much. The Vast is wayyyy better.
The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive I will most definitely be back soon
Great steak, cooked as expected. Service was as good as ever.
My husband and I travel to OKC once a year and we are always excited to eat at The Mantel Wine Bar. The food is exceptional and the service and ambiance are wonderful! They also have a good selection of wine.
Perfect! The staff was friendly and the steak was amazing!
The waiter offered several beer choices and had to come back twice to tell us that they didn’t have our first two choices. They ran out of mussels for the seafood stew. It would seem the restaurant is poorly managed. The food was good and so was the service but I would not return.
Always great food and 1st class service. We eat at The Mantel quite often. Good place to bring clients and potential customers
Our server was informative and great. However the halibut was extremely overcooked and i asked for grilled not blackened. Tasted like cardboard. The wine was excellent and my friends liked their steaks ok.
Took forever for our food. They did make it right. Won’t stop us from going. The food was GREAT as always.
I eat here every time I visit Oklahoma City. I can’t remember the last time I ordered from the menu because the daily specials are impossible to pass up. This time, I ordered the special of a 10-oz steak paired with two diver scallops. The steak was the perfect size, and the horseradish cream sauce was outstanding. The scallops were grilled to melt in your mouth. The dish was served with a spring vegetable mix and fingerling potatoes. Perfect size, perfect selection.
Really like it, the place has personality. We like sitting at restaurant bars for a before dinner drink, however we found the bar stools uncomfortable. Food and service is great. Will dine there again when in OKC.
Not just for special occasions, but every day The Mantel is the perfect spot for Food, Conversation and Ambiance.
It took awhile to find someone to seat us and even longer to get our order taken. It took over 1 1/2 hours from the time we were seated to get our food. My steak was undercooked and I sent it back and it was still undercooked. Took it home to my dog. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Parts of our meal were really good and parts were only so-so. My husband loved the duck, I really liked the scallops and my daughter enjoyed her steak. On the other side, the salads were just ok, the goat cheese dip had a weird runniness to it, and the risotto was just really salty (as were most items). Both desserts we had were really nice. The service was somewhat rushed given the fact that it wasn't a full dining room. So all in all, I might come back but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. For the price you pay, things should be better overall.
In town for Pink concert. This place was great. Close by to all Bricktown spots. Service was excellent. We split Mussels, Salad and scallops. All were great. Good wine list. Decent prices. Appetizer < 15, Entree < 28. Wine 14/glass but good Pinot. Would recommend and will be back
Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro is more of a high-priced diner than a Bistro. Food is basic and forgettable. Cocktails are abysmal.
My wife and I tried this venue prior to attending the symphony. The dress was listed as "Business Casual," but it is more sports bar and ball caps. We ordered a cheese plate, lobster bisque, and bacon spinach salad. The cheese plate was three white cheeses cut in chunks with no identification by server or menu, honey, walnuts from a bag, dried cranberries from a sack, and a few pieces of butter toasted baguette. The dish was missing a fruit compote according to the menu. I am not sure why we waited 30 minutes for the kitchen to "prepare" this culinary complexity. The lobster bisque was creamy and tasty with a heavy dose of nutmeg, but it had no lump lobster in it. Think shellfish egg nog. The menu boasts this as the "Classic house recipe since 1999." I'm not sure I would claim this as a signature dish. The spinach-bacon salad was basic leaf with a warm bacon vinaigrette that was missing an acidic vinegar and not warm. The menu lists the salad with mushrooms and boiled egg. There were no mushrooms and the boiled egg was very overcooked.
The cocktails are poorly crafted and badly presented. My Manhattan had no garnish at all (hint: it needs a cherry or two). The Gentleman Jack Sling was watered down and tasteless also absent a garnish. The La Posta Malbec I had is a good value wine, but not interesting.
This venue looks like a converted corner taco place. The ceiling is sagging with old fluorescent fixtures. AC ductwork is exposed, and there is a support pipe holding the roof, I suppose, in the middle of the restaurant. Tables are very close together, and there doesn't seem to be enough service people.
If you are looking for a pricey beer and burger joint, this would be the place. For a bistro or wine bar, give this a pass.
Food was phenomenal, service was amazing!! Always a hit!
Service was horrible. We had to repeat our order 3 times. He said he didn’t write it down and wanted to make sure it was correct... three times. We had to wait 15 min after our reservation time. Purchased the calamari appetizer which had no taste at all. You shouldn’t have to salt and pepper your food when you pay $16 for an appetizer. To top it off, the server just came and set our food down, didn’t ask any questions. Didn’t even place it in front of us but to the side. No appetizer plates were given.
The entrees came and they were solid. Luckily they couldn’t mess up a bottle of wine either! Overall, when I pay $200 for a meal, I expect a level of experience and professionalism that wasn’t hit on any level.
Moms 75th birthday
We waiting for 10 minutes before anyone came to our table, waiting 30 minutes for soup, waiting another 30 minutes for entrees and when it came to pay, they could not make change for a $20. We will not go back, because there were only 14 people in the restaurant and there was no excuse for the long wait times or the lack of service.
I took my boss who lives in CA here for dinner with my wife. Amazing service and great food! We always enjoy our experience at The Mantel.
No host at host stand. Did not have first 3 wines requested. Did not have appetizer that we ordered. Both fish dishes, halibut $38 and mahi mahi special $36, overcooked. Risotto mushy and tasted similar to Kraft Mac n Cheese. It really did. The flavor combinations were not well thought out. Asparagus was overcooked. Even the homemade cracked pepper bread was bland. Needed salt in the batter. The open kitchen walls has obvious oil stains dripping down. Close the kitchen if you don't take care of it for the public view. And please don't call yourself fine dining if you use butcher paper on the tables. $115 before tip for two cocktails and two entrees. Disappointing. Service was fair at best.
I want to thank Robert DiGiovanni and his staff for another wonderful experience at the jewel of bricktown. Don't miss eating here when you have the chance. Mantel has such great food and drink with a fairly quite calm atomsphere so a couple or group can actually visit over dinner. See you there soon!
