Valentine’s dinner, was fantastic
This was our first and last visit to Mantle's. Let me start by saying the food was amazing! Everything else was not that great. To begin it was Valentine's Day so they were packed still at10 pm.. (Understandably) We were offered the choice of two different tables, but the were across from each other and both by the kitchen entrance and the front door. I was so cold I had to leave my coat on the entire time we were there. The kitchen entry was continually busy so it was not at all a romantic dinner. Our waitress did not check on us often because she was overly busy. (Not her fault I am sure) The 20% gratuity was added on automatically to our check so why would she have to be attentive when she knew she was going to get her tip regardless. The check was well over $200 and the experience was only subpar. And finally, I got an email from open table stating Mantle reported to them we did not show up for I reservation. My pocket book says otherwise.
We’ve always loved the Mantel and wanted to make a romantic Valentines date for our first wedding anniversary. It was a horrible experience. All of the normal four top tables were separated into two tops seated maybe a foot away from other guests so much that people could barely walk by. The present menu was underwhelming. We were brought the wrong items three separate times and it was subpar quality. Service was equally terrible. We may go back on a normal evening, but never again for a special occasion.
Food was average but overpriced for average food. It was Valentines Day so it was a bit crazy. Service was not what I would have expected for this price range.
Made reservations for Valentine's Day 2020. Menu was predetermined. Chose the ravioli and wife chose the lumpias as appetizers. To our surprise she was given one lumpia and I was given one silver dollar sized ravioli. More of a sample than an appetizer. We both got 12 oz. New York strip steaks. I could not cut mine with the steak knife provided. Steak was full a gristle. Twice baked potatoes were so small it wouldn't feed a small child. The only thing we enjoyed was the wine and dessert which were both fantastic. Dessert however was very small. Will not return to this place for Valentine's Day if using this menu again. Way to pricey for what was served. $80.00 a head with automatic 20% gratuity added. Service was very good. Reservations were for 5:00 p.m. as soon as they opened though. Will eat there again but order off of regular menu.
We came in for a night away from the kids and to ourselves. The atmosphere is quiet and warm. We ordered a bottle of wine and looked over the menu. We ordered an appetizer(lobster risotto), salads, and steaks. Everything came out at once which was highly irregular and pretty annoying. My wife’s salad was literally just lettuce, our steaks were extremely overcooked, and the wait Lee was terrible. I think we saw him 3x the entirety of the dinner. Mind you, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The lobster risotto was basically a creamy mush completely flavorless (Gordon Ramsay would have flipped out and lost his mind). All in all, we paid $175 for a dinner that was marginal AT BEST. Other than a quiet room to enjoy my wife’s company, the meal was a bust. I expect much much better when making reservations at a “fine dining” establishment. All the mantel turned out to be was a fancy Golden Corral. It’s been in OKC for a long time and I have never been. We won’t be returning. Sorry, you need to pick up your game and care about your product.
Food and service was excellent. I was very disappointed with dessert. I ordered key lime pie and it was frozen and tasted nothing like key lime. I love desserts but will not order that anymore. But definitely go back and order something else.
Went here for our wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint. Food and drinks were amazing. Would definitely recommend and will go again for sure.
Went there for a business dinner. This place used to be very good. We all ordered steaks. Three filets and a strip. We all agree they the worst steaks we had in some time. Not good at all and Prime to boot.
While great in the past, our most recent experience was not. It took over an hour to get our food after ordering and the Food was overcooked. While those filling drinks and bread were attentive, our server was not. Might have been an off night, but with so many options, we probably won’t be back.
It is always a delight to eat at the Mantel. The food is scrumptious. We love to take friends because we know they will enjoy the food and the wonderful service.
We have always loved Mantel WBB and used to go before all the Okc Broadway shows. We hadn’t been in a while and decided to visit our standby because their Lobster bisque was a thing. This time was very different. There was one waiter for the entire dining room. (Hence service was very slow) He was condescending and a bit full of himself. Sadly the menu just isn’t stellar anymore and the lobster bisque wasn’t even close to what it used to be. Tragic. This was really disappointing. Our food was okay, but honestly nothing special like it has been in the past. I do believe that will be our last time there. There are just too many great restaurants in Okc now.
Amazing seafood and service ! Can’t wait to go back !
Great atmosphere after work to grab drinks before going to the game
My bride and I had dinner there celebrating our anniversary. It was our first time eating at The Mantel. The food and atmosphere were great, as was the service. The bread, dipping sauce and mushroom risotto were fantastic! We dine here again.
Loved it! Best steak I have ever had, the ambience was great. It a good New Year’s Eve dinner!
First New Year's Eve spent at The Mantel. Outstanding experience and great food. Enjoyed the set menu with 4 course meal. David, our server, was terrific at explaining the menu and answering questions. Bravo!
It was great!
Unfortunately this visit was disappointing. The waiter was a bit rude and standoffish. Both steaks were cooked incorrectly. Overall the experience was not remotely worth $200+.
The Mantel is one of the consistently great restaurants anywhere. My filet was cooked exactly correct, the bearnaise was perfect, and my girlfriend's lobster dish was expertly presented and prepared. Oh, and don't miss the 'Julia Childs' potatoes.
Great experience as always at The Mantel!
This place was fantastic! I have wanted to go for years but never been. I went with my boyfriend for the first time. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing! This is a place we will be back to visit.
I always look forward to dining at the Mantel. The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. It's fun to try the specials. We are never disappointed. We go to the Broadway shows at the Civic Center and dine here before we go. Our friends won't eat anywhereb else.
Some of the steak sauces were a little over salted, and I’m a salt lover. This does seem to be a trend in steak houses. The wine list offers great variety and decent value. It has a cozy bistro atmosphere and customers seem to enjoy sitting at the small bar. It’s priced more for people who have generous expense accounts. It is a more elegant venue than some other places in Bricktown where the restaurant norm is quantity without so much quality.
Food of this quality usually costs more than it did at The Mantle when combined with the value of very good service in a quiet atmosphere that is perfect for date night. They seem to be mindful of keeping a manageable number of menu offerings, then doing those quite well. Our waiter was reasonably familiar with the wine list and made a good suggestion for pairing with our entrees.
We ended up being 5, starting with the Calamari Steak Milanese a delicious and unusual change to the typical 'fried calamari', that and another shared plate was a great starter.
Two of my guests, myself and another guest had the Steak feature a Ribeye with spicy tomato glaze served with a vegetable side featuring multiple colors of cauliflower. Outstand and certainly enuf for takehome.
My other guest chose one of the two seafood specials which i believe they called a seatini served in a steamless martini glass with a baselayer of crab risotto, a citrus poached lobster tail, grilled prawns, and diver's scallops. What she didn't eat got shared a bite here and there, and i think her hubby licked the glass clean (haha).
Unfortunately we were all too stuffed to have enjoyed any of the deserts and thats unfortunate because they will do tableside Bananas Foster the NOLA way which has been great when i've partaken in the past!
I will make plans to return very soon, thanks for a Great Evening 'Mantel'!
My steak was not cooked done. I didn’t want to complain. The shrimp were delicious. Very bland everything else.
Our server Luis was fantastic!!
The salmon was delicious. Wine was really good but the salad was simply okay.
Very good food!
Went for my 5 year anniversary as this was the place my wife and I went on our first date. 5 years ago our experience was very good. This time around my Delmonico steak had zero flavor. Wife’s “special” of a sirloin and 2 bay scallops was $60 and very bland as well. Very disappointing.
The server was horrible, i decided to go here for my birthday dinner and my evening here was awful. I’m glad I can not the restaurant off my list.
The seasonal short rib cannelloni was the best thing we had all day. The filet mignon had great flavor, and the Julia Child’s potatoes were decadent and lovely. Very nice vibe.
The Mantel is always remarkable in every way!
Expected better due to reviews. That wasn’t the case.
Food is always great and perfect for a date night.
Food was delicious. We both had the 8oz filet; and, it came with sides! Service was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Look forward to visiting again.
A delightful evening with my bride made special with the food and service at the Manel before going to the Lyric.
The food and service are always excellent.
