I booked this evening for valentines day. All I can say is that the evening was top 5 most professional, timely, and delicious dining experiences Ive had. The wait staff was extremely well mannered, keeping a warm approachable attitude throughout the evening despite them obviously being slammed with people celebrating valentines day. Every plate came out no more than 5 minutes after I took the last bite of each decadent dish. I ordered the sirloin (rare) for the main course and I have to say, it was absolutely fabulous piece of meat. Every detail of my dining experience was attended to even so far as to my questioning of the nut situation on the desert (I have a peanut allergy). I most certainly will keep the mansion at turtle creek on my short list for luxurious evenings out when I want the absolute best.

Valentines Dinner. Service was mediocre, food was ok. The room was very awkward and quiet, we were so close to another couple we could hear their conversation and they could hear ours. Not ideal.

I have been a fan of The Mansion for 30 years but have to say it has gone down badly. Had not been there for sometime. The elegance is gone. Men in jeans with shirt tails hanging out in what once was Dallas most prestigious and elegant dining experience. Food was over cooked, boringly presented and less than I expect in any of Dallas many mid price places. Service was spotty, hostess did not know her job. Really and truly a sad state of affairs at a much loved venue. Sorry.

The staff is always very pleasant and attentive. The menu is innovative without being contrived. The main dining room is handsome while the terrace is a quiet setting with a lovely view.

Once again, the Mansion did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the ambiance was elegant and tasteful and the staff was attentive, professional and offered great advice on the food and cocktails. We so appreciate each moment we spend in this Dallas treasure!

We had not been to the Mansion in several years. Beautiful setting and ambiance, but the food, although decent, is way overpriced, as well as the wine. Service was OK, not great. We were disappointed. This is not the same Mansion that we were used to. It is a shame!

Our family has never been to a Michelin-rated restaurant, and I was not aware exactly how spectacular the Mansion would turn out to be. It exceeded my expectations with an amazing risotto, mushroom tortellini, and bisque as well. As vegetarians, we all thoroughly enjoyed our tasters and the menu surpassed everyone's expectations. Typically, vegetarian options are limited and not high in quality. Every detail in each dish was evident: the flavors worked exquisitely with one another, in unexpected yet very savory and tasteful ways. Anyone who wants to cross going to a once in a lifetime experience should come to the Mansion. It was an unforgettable dining experience, and I will never be able to erase it!

I can see how this could be a great place, but for whatever reason, the night we went they were not on their A game. The food was simple and way OVER flavored. Not to mention over priced - $1000 for 4 people and my kids still got pizza on the way home.

What a wonderful spot! We hadn't eaten here in a while and frankly had forgotten what a gem The Mansion is.

We had a foies gras starter that was delicious, followed by Seared scallops (her) and Dover sole (me). Paired with a nice Pinot Noir, both dishes were out of this world.

Dessert was the ice cream and sorbet tasting with nine different flavors (from pistachio to raspberry to cinnamon). Fun with all the different tastes.

Our waiter, Hugo, served us with the perfect balance of professional crispness and privacy that we desired for our special date.

Highly recommended!

I realize that New Year’s Eve is a busy night, however the food was just not up to par. The cold seafood presentation was not appetizing, the fish was over cooked and the dessert was typical and nothing special. We had reservations in the bar and I am certain that I was one of the first to make reservations as I did months ago. We were seated where we could not see the entertainment and too many people were allowed into the bar making it nearly impossible to make it to the restroom. It really wasn’t fair to those of us who had dinner and reservations ahead of time. We were told there was a $75/person minimum, but we were charged an additional $45 service charge. Probably won’t be our first choice for New Year’s Eve in the future.

My husband and I are quickly coming to a sad but resolute conclusion: you cannot dine out on major holidays. Even dependable old standards like the Rosewood Mansion are succumbing to mediocrity and indefensibly high prices. I honestly don’t know what was worse about our Christmas day dinner. First, there was the table at which we were seated. We were sat near a decidedly cold and drafty entrance which (upon opening) occasionally allowed in cigarette smoke. They suggested re-seating us, but the only tables left were way in the back, in the dark, away from any real view of the fireplace, people or holiday decorations. We had a choice: be with everyone and get a shot of cold air now-and-again, or be warm in the back of the room. Then there was the food. Our dinner consisted of selections from a very, very limited prix fixe oddly absent a salad or soup offering. After visiting an unadventurous desert table, when it was all said and done; our dinner for 2 was well-over $450. We couldn’t do a wine pairing – a standard bottle of Au Château de Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape (sometimes available at Goody-Goody for $89.00 per bottle), was going for $450. I don’t care how good the bottle service is, a 500% mark-up for the Holidays is obscene. The sommelier should be ashamed. Worth mentioning: Had we actually selected a bottle of wine, our dinner for 2 would have skirted a $1,000. Before dismissing me as an arrogant, stuck-up and largely unqualified food and service critic understand the couple next to us was as offended as we were by the draughty conditions and meagre food. We heard similar rumblings by other diners waiting for valet service. You just can’t expect people to pay those prices and get that kind of food and service on a day that’s supposed to be a celebration. If you can’t get proper staffing, and you can’t offer the quality of food and service you usually offer: then, don’t do holiday dinners. It’s really that simple.

We went for Christmas lunch - it was beyond disappointing - the wait staff struggled - the food was mediocre- not at all what we have experienced before - we had Thanksgiving dinner just a few weeks ago and it was outstanding- we will be back - but not for major holidays - a completely different experience.

We chose to make our first trip to the Mansion on Christmas Eve. The hostess called a couple of times to confirm our reservation, and I spoke with her at length, but she never mentioned that the menu would be prix fixe for Christmas Eve. We each received an appetizer, an entree, and a trip to the dessert buffet for $160. This would be fine, if it was worth it.

Two of us chose the filet mignon, which was more likely eye of round, and it was clearly over-cooked. The 3/4" steaks were served well-done, but ordered medium. The server was wonderful. As soon as she noticed the steaks being over-cooked, she immediately ordered two new steaks which were brought out within five minutes.

The server was the highlight. She was warm and made us feel at home. She read us very well and responded accordingly. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Additionally, the bread server was such a delight. He knew how to describe each type of bread and helped us choose something I would never have chosen on my own: the duck-fat bread. It was truly amazing. I will henceforth only eat bread made with duck fat.

The ambiance was wonderful, but just a little loud. We were seated immediately and offered beverages. There was very little wait time during the meal or with our bill and payment.

We will try the restaurant again, but not during a prix fixe menu. It just wasn't worth it.

Outstanding: service and food. Highly recommend for a special occasion!!!
Disappointing: seating location, noise level
Mansion Restaurant Staff Suggestion: carefully interview guests regarding seating.
Guest Suggestion: clearly state your dining preferences.
Final comments: the Mansion on Turtle Creek provides stellar service!!! Their attention to detail and desire to please is impressive!

This is a very fancy place to go for a special occasion. That said, for the holiday the fixed menu was limited and the price for food only was $130 which would be great for a multi-course tasting menu. In this case, it was for one appetizer, one entree, and dessert buffet. The seafood risotto was just "OK" with all flavors blending together to one big rich-tasing, seafoody pile of same bites. The scallops were good with good sauce. The salad was good with good tasty greens. The Dover Sole was a bit overcooked, dry, and sauce not too tasty. The fillet was good, but just fillet.

Overall, way overpriced. You are paying for the place, mystique, and top-notch service. The best part of the meal actually was the breads and crackers! Again, not really a $130 bread/crackers. Beverages were similarly over-priced but delicious.

My dinner was dry (Porchetta) and salty, my wife's dover sole was tasty; servers made us feel rushed.
I checked our coats with the manager C.A.A and they gave my coat to another customer!!! It's been two day and no contact from Rosewood Mansion restaurant about replacing my coat!!!

It was very disappointing experience !

The food was amazing and the service was great. The only thing we did not like is the table we got. I asked for private dinning for my wife’s birthday but we got a table next to the door. It was a cold night and every time other guests came in or went out of the restaurant we felt really cold. We looked around the place after our dinner and they had better table options available, at least not close to the door.

The building is historic and beautiful. We were seated immediately (had reservation). A little tight in between two other groups. There is individual seating available, but was busy at the time. Difficult to hear conversation or speak with people at my table. The Tortilla Soup was one of the best. Steak a little over done. Good portions. The bar was standing room only because the music was great. Great place to meet people, or have an after dinner drink.
