The Manor Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We were seated in an area that was about twelve feet away from (separated by a curtain) an office party which was very loud. We got our appetizer and started to order our entrees, and requested to be moved. We were accommodated, but in the shuffle, only one entrée order was placed, and the wine order was also missed. We found out that they had specials that night, but only after we had already ordered. We only found out because when commenting about the noise, our server said that she had to yell the specials when serving in the space that we were originally seated. Bread was not provided until towards the end of our meal, when we asked if they had bread or rolls available.
The food was very good, at the temperature it should have been, and of a good portion.
When asked by a friend the next evening how our dinner was at the Manor Tavern, my wife and I, in unison, said "Weird". If this was a date with someone that was not part of a long relationship, I would have considered this a disaster. As it was, we were able to laugh about it, albeit only slightly.
The female Wait Person was very loud, talked to us like children in an animated sing - song voice and was professionally inappropriate throughout the entire experience. As I brought concerns to her attention she replied, "OK, I'll see if I can fix that", not once did she apologize for the weak coffee, cold soup, and cold entrees and slow service (the dining room was half empty). There was so much wrong I didn't mention the over processed, oily, mushy potatoes. When she delivered the check I pointed out to her 2 overpriced mistakes and she replied, "Oh, we have had some menu price changes". I replied, "these prices do not reflect the prices on the menu you gave us, you need to make an adjustment". She returned with the manager and I shared our experience. She was very apologetic and made a few adjustments to the bill which, at this point, did not come close to compensation for such a horrible experience. We came to Manor Tavern on a beautiful Sunday for Brunch in celebration of our parents 70th Wedding Anniversary and left feeling like we had just been to Disneyland, Snow White and all.
rd to find, but worth it when we found it! Our server was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, superb!
We went after the lunch crowd has cleared out, but before dinner guests. Our menu was the lunch menu, but we were told that the chef might make us something off the dinner menu.
Very pleasant and relaxing--food good. It was our first time there, and we'll definitely go back.
This was forst time visiting this restsurant. It is a nice place to dine with good friends and as business meal.
Staff was friendly and server mentioned vendors at next room for Christmas shopping. Event was packed yet we did not have to wait too long due to the reservation.
This will not be the last visit for sure.
Wedding Anniversary celebration, and Manor tavern was THE place to go. Server Shannon was terrific. Calamari dish was ok. Rack of Lamb was delicious. Scallops, while excellent, were surrounded by over garlic orzo. way over. Anniversary dessert and bubbly were a nice touch. Sorry that the real fireplace is going away, but glad to hear it at least will be gas next time! Thanks for the usual wonderful time.
Let me start by saying we always love the food & atmosphere of Manor Tavern-love how they decorate for the seasons/holidays. That being said, we've also had issues with service and just general organization, and unfortunately this visit was no exception. Our visit was on a Sunday. Their website indicates that brunch is served until2. We specifically did not want the brunch menu but wanted the lunch menu, so made our reservations for 2:30. We called the day before to make sure that we would be able to order off the lunch menu for a 2:30 reservation, & we were told at 2:30 on a Sunday we could order off the brunch or lunch menu - that dinner didn't begin until 4pm. We arrived for our 2:30 reservation, and were given the dinner menu when we were seated. We asked our server, Jessica, for a lunch menu and she told us that only the dinner menu was available. When we explained that we had called the day before and had been told that the lunch menu would be available at 2:30, she went and got the manager, Jamie. Jamie explained that on Sundays, after brunch was over at 2pm, they went to the dinner menu, but since someone had told us that the lunch menu would be available she would make an exception. Once this was straightened out, we thought everything would be fine. Unfortunately, our server left a lot to be desired. First, we heard her apologizing to every other table that she serviced for all of the delays. Our service was the same. Then, in the midst of our meal, they started setting up for the dinner service (which involved putting table cloths on all of the tables - which apparently made it necessary for the staff to be yelling across the dining room to each other as they set up the tables-really?) We repeatedly had to ask other staff for refills-because our server kept disappearing. The food was excellent - service not so much. Also, need to clarify on their website & Open Table their hours for brunch, lunch & dinner for each day of the week so there is no confusion.
I have never been disappointed by The Manor Tavern - and our lunch there this week lived up to my high expectations. We started with phenomenal homemade chicken spring rolls. They were to die for. Definitely outside of the box. I had the poke bowl for my entree and it was awesome. Great flavor. My friend had the ultimate grilled cheese and absolutely loved it. But nothing will hold a candle to dessert - so be sure to save room! They're house made - and worth the cheat day. We split the flourless chocolate pie and the creme brulee. I'm a bit of a creme brulee snob, and they nailed it. But even better yet was the chocolate pie. Wow. I'd drive the hour round trip just to have another slice (or two) of that. Not heavy and dense like most flourless options - but instead light and airy and sinfully rich. Enjoy - as much as we did!
we met friends for a great dinner at MT, where we often go for lunch or dinner. The fish special had accents of shrimp and mussels, with rockfish over risotto -- excellent. steak and crabcake rounded out the meal. Waiter andy was very good, and the ambiance is always fun.
We went for our 26th anniversary. We were seated by the entrance to the kitchen which at times was very annoying with the noise. Informed our server who took care of the issue to the best that she was able. Our server was great, very informative, friendly, and just all around a great server. The food was just okay, but I don't believe it was worth the price. I had their 16oz pork chop which was quite tuff and without much flavor. My wife had the beer can chicken sandwich which she said was pretty good. I don't mind paying for great food but this didn't quaify. Overall the people were very nice, the dining room was very nice, the service was very good, the food didn't make it for the price charged. I don't believe we will be returning anytime soon.
Great, locally-sourced food. We enjoyed every dish served. Staff was very friendly as well. Only down-side is that we dined in the back porch where they played the music a bit too loud for our tastes. When I'm spending a lot of money on my food I want to really be able to focus on meal and conversation. Overall had a wonderful time and will definitely come back!
The Manor Tavern has been a local staple for great food, great service and a very comfortable setting. One of our favorite restaurants in the Mid Atlantic area and for those who do not live in the immediate area it's definitely worth the trip through the beautiful northern Baltimore County countryside.
We went with our neighbors to our favorite restaurant. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside where they now have live music on Thursdays. We had the halibut special, crab cakes and burgers. Everything was delicious as usual. Still praying they put the halibut on their regular menu as it is my favorite. I prefer it without any sauce which they did for me no problem. My friend loved it as is. It was half price wine, crab cake and halibut special night as well as live music. Who could ask for more. Plus they have a very nice selection of wine to chose from. Andy took very good care of us as he always does. We love him.
Our dinners were disappointing. My halibut was overcooked, my husband's soup had probably been sitting in the pot and was like paste, and his seafood pasta didn't have much flavor. We love the atmosphere there though on a summer evening on the patio but for the price of the food, should be much better. Not sure if we will go there frequently. The food used to be much better.
I've been to Manor Tavern several times and had excellent food but the last few times the food has just been ok. The server was friendly but service was slow. I love the location and want to love the food but have not found it to be anything more than "fair".
Food was excellent. Fish was excellent. Do not have the lobster Mac n cheese. No lobster! Dining outside was nice but we were in a pathway for smokers to go out and smoke which is annoying to have to move your chair often. Service was very poor. Waited probably a half hour or more for our apps. Did not see waiter in all that time. But because the food is so good. We will be back for another try.
This was my first time eating at the Manor Tavern and I will definitely come back again. The service was great, the food fantastic and the overall experience was well worth driving a ways to get there. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
My daughter ordered a salad with double meat for protein and we were both sadly disappointed. Her salad was the size of a side salad, not a main course salad, and although we paid a lot extra for double portion of chicken, it was sadly lacking in quantantee as well as quality. I ordered a burger which was enjoyable, however, but overall our experience was not worth a repeat visit.
Went to the Tavern on Saturday night for dinner for the first time ever. I really enjoyed the country setting and the coziness of the Tavern. Our server was wonderful--very helpful, friendly, and interested in our having a good time. I ordered the Grilled Caesar which was good but didn't really blow me away. I was trying to eat light both in terms of cost and calories, so that fit the bill. I love this setting so much, so I know I will be back.
