The Manor House Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Service professional (thanks John!), ambience grand, food exemplary, but tiny tables...terrible for both guests and servers. Library is historically fantastic. Tables should reflect the ambience with tablecloths and decent sized tables. Noisy girl get-togethers should have been seated on the upper level. They were having fun, but did interfere with our Valentine dinner.
Service was superb. Multiple people were checking on us throughout meal without being a nuisance. Menu was very good. Only suggestion is that the days the restaurant were open were contrary to their website and signage--perhaps just a seasonal difference. But, highly recommended, will be even better in the summer months with outdoor seating available.
My Partner and I were looking for a relaxing romantic location away from the hussle of downtown Seattle. The Manor House blew away our expectations, food was amazing, views amazing, and the one thing hard to find in the city that we found here was a personalized experience. The staff took there time to assure we got to experience the full effect of dining here. The staff made the experience from incredible, to one of a kind. We will be back soon, save us a spot!
Wife and I had an excellent full dinner here last weekend. Oysters on the half shell ...succulent. Spinach salad delish. Osso Bucco was fabulous. Burgundy Beef with a lot of flair. Pro style cocktails, nice wine selection. Service level was just perfect...friendly and just attentive enough. This is our new fav restaurant on Bainbridge and including Poulsbo.
We have dined at Manor House 4 times. Since my wife has dietary restrictions, she orders the same meal each time we visit. The food has never been prepared the same way twice. So, while the food is tasty, don't expect to get the same taste each time you visit.
We went to the Manor House Restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were very pleased with the beautiful setting and happy to see that the soul of this house was retained during its remodel. We were seated in the library where a beautiful fire was burning in the fireplace and live music playing in the next room. The service and the food were both excellent and we look forward to going back again.
We really enjoyed this place. The food was very good and the presentation even better. This is a beautiful small restaurant with superior food and a pleasant, romantic, and cozy atmosphere. All in all, service was good, except due to the fact they had a large party in a private room, they kind of rushed our courses a little to insure we didn't have to wait behind the large party. I appreciate that they thought of that, but I would think they would have some kind of system in place that allows the restaurant guests to be served and taken care of as well. The recommendations the servers made were honest and spot on. They led us away from the less special dishes to ones that did not disappoint, even when we were leaning the other way. I appreciate that in a server. The restaurant is cozy, quaint and the noise level low enough you can have a conversation without having to raise the volume. All in all a great experience. We will definitely return to Manor House!
The server was really kind and patient and described the dishes in detail and made great recommendations. The best thing he did however, was my mom is really little and he was tall; he kneeled at the tableside so that she could talk to him without craning her neck and I appreciated the thoughtful attention he paid to my parents.
Still a new venue with potential but improvement needed or it will die on the vine. Took 25 minutes before server showed to take drink order. Took 25 minutes after ordering second bottle of wine to see it show up. Dinner arrived 1.5 hours after arrival time. Kitchen is apparently shared with venue next door, which may have been the problem with the kitchen. Steaks were disappointing, but other dishes were very good. Ambiance very good even without views at night. There are slim pickings on the island, so I hope this one can rally!
We wanted to love Manor House. Everything about it was perfect, except for the food. It may be because we needed things altered a bit for two of us having food sensitivities. Just making a dish though without the sauce, was not a good plan. The chicken was dry as was the salmon. We may try again, and try different food choices. All in all a magnificent place, with wonderful staff and service, just the food was lacking.
We were a little nervous about being the only diners at 6:00 on a Sunday evening. Two other tables arrived later. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The kitchen was incredibly slow. I ordered the special spinach salad and the scallops. Both were delicious and the scallops were cooked perfectly. My companion ordered the Caesar salad and the salmon, and he enjoyed both as well. Our entrees arrived an hour after we sat down, so 50+ minutes after we ordered. As there were no other diners at the time, we could only speculate as to what was going on in the kitchen. We declined dessert, as we were sitting outside on the beautiful patio, the sun had gone down, it was getting a bit too cool to sit outside, and we had already been there so long. The dessert menu looked enticing, and we were told it is all made in house. I would go again if I knew that the kitchen was up to speed.
Took my out of town friends to dinner and we had a wonderful evening!!! Can't say enough about our waiter, John, who took really good care of us and made us feel very special! The food was superb and I would not hesitate to recommend The Manor House to all my friends. Looking forward to my next visit, which will be very soon!!!
Went there twice in a row. Friday night and again Sunday to make sure we weren't mistaken in our first impression. Perfect ambiance. Terrace, library, by the fire seating. Scenic views. This is the place for a special night out.
Food fantastic. Between six orders not a single complaint. Waiter John made our visits super special during both visits. Superb wine list. Great for a romantic dinner or special events.
We ate here with friends last weekend, after a 1st good experience a few months ago. Then, I ordered the Chicken Piccata and it was excellent. It have me high hopes that this location finally had a good restaurant again. However, my husband and I both ordered the short ribs on our latest visit. They were terrible. Served on a bed of very dry (not creamy, as advertised) polenta, the very small portion of beef was dry, tough, and full of fat and gristle. My husband left most of his rib on the plate. I ate mine but wish I hadn't. I really want this establishment to succeed, and I think many of their menu items look good. So I want to recommend it to friends. Just beware -- don't order the short ribs!
Started with a Mojito and a pear vodka Cosmo with local oysters on the half shell. Attentive servers supplied tasty bread with crisp salad with blue cheese and pear slices. Bottle of Veuve Clicquot went quite nicely with braised sea scallops and the linguini with clams. Finished up with a delicious chocolate brownie with ice cream, coffee and a ten year old tawny port. The move to the larger Manor house setting was a wise decision. Enjoyed spectacular views of Rich passage and the ferries to and from Bremerton. A very pleasant evening with food carefully prepared and served. We will be back !!
We have eaten at The Manor House's "sister" restaurant, the more-casual "Beach House" a number of times and loved it. But we were expecting a step up in quality of food, service, and atmosphere when we brought out-of-state guests to The Manor House on a warm summer evening. Although I had requested an outdoor table, when I reserved on-line a week earlier, the hostess seemed flumoxed by that request when we arrived. We then had to wait 15 minutes for our table. The menu seemed "stale." There were no seasonal favorites among the salads or entrees. In fact, the menu seemed more suited to a cold, rainy winter evening (beef short ribs) than to a hot August night. The server was friendly but slow to bring the promised bread, the entrees at the same time or to refill wine glasses. We will return to the Beach House Cafe for the less-pretentious and less-expensive menu (from the same kitchen, we believe), but probably not to The Manor House. And that's a shame, because Bainbridge badly needs a high-end, high-quality restaurant.
This was our first dinner at the Manor House. It was a special family occasion and we were most anxious that this new addition for our community would add to our very small preferred dining list. The menu was quite complete with a good wine list and excellent cocktails. It was a warm evening and we chose the veranda, which proved to be a delight. The service was friendly and competent and the food was exceptional. Our two family members are world travelers and have pampered themselves with the best their visit locations have to offer. It was a delight to share in their appreciative surprise, and a rare experience of quiet, comfortable visiting as well as beautiful surroundings while enjoying such satisfying meals. We are looking forward to more dinners there soon.
The meal was outstanding. It started with bibb lettuce salad with white wine vinaigrette. It was light and refreshing. We also had the French onion soup which was a perfect compliment. The seared salmon was lightly placed on a vegetable medley. My husband enjoyed the 48 hour braised short rib. It was amazing.
The view of the harbor really made the evening that more enjoyable.
We were warmly greeted by the hostess and staff. We were offered several table options and elected to dine outdoors.....what a perfect spot! Water view, beautiful flowers, soft live music in the background and impeccable service. Our server, Yolanda, was exceptional.....friendly, attentive and gave us excellent dining suggestions. We started with the salmon and liver appetizers.....generous portions with wonderful crostini crackers. We followed with salads....loved the wedge salad special...hope it becomes a regular menu item! My friends had the pasta bolognese and chicken piccata entrees which they said were excellent. I ordered the clams and linguini which was flavorful but a bit more salty than I prefer. The pasta was cooked perfectly and I ate every bite. The cheesecake dessert was one of the best ever! The lemon tart was rich and flavorful. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
This restaurant is trying to decide what it wants to be. It's offering pool food, bar food, and fine dining apparently out of one kitchen. It's a setting with a beautiful view and beautifully furnished. The only thing lacking from a fine dining experience is top quality cuisine. Our salmon was beautiful to look at but overcooked and dry. The flat iron steak was properly cooked but had a large tendon running through it that should've been removed. It might be a good idea to split the kitchen and not try to do too many things under one roof.
My wife has dined at the Manor House several times and each time enjoyed a nice meal. Friday dinner, however we both felt was disappointing. Our server was not terribly friendly and certainly did not help make our 28th anniversary dinner special. Didn't describe the menu, features etc, just took our order. My wife had somewhat flavorless salmon and I had chicken piccata that had far to much thick cream sauce. The setting on the patio is beautiful and I'm guessing we just had a bad night and perhaps will try another time, maybe.
I first attended theManor House with the BI Women's Club luncheon last week! Food was great! Service seemed a bit confused. Lunch was served out of order. One sitting at the table with hot meal only to sit for another 10 minutes for everyone else to be served. Large groups are very difficult, but this should be lunch for large groups 101.
I thought the meal was so good that I made reservations for Father's Day for my husband and I. John G. was our server and he made for an enjoyable evening! We ordered what he recommended and it was the perfect selection!
We will highly recommend your establishment to others and when guests come for visits, we will bring them to the Manor House!

This was our first time dining at the new, expanded, restaurant. We thought that the food was excellent and well presented. Our waiter, while not rude, was quite abrupt and certainly did not add to an atmosphere of fine dining, however. We will return for the food and the view but will likely request a different waiter.
Secured an outside table for dinner with my family, including visiting relatives. The service was outstanding (the hiring of the veteran Four Swallows wait staff was brilliant). The new space is gorgeous and the outdoor seating especially lovely on. The food, wine and special cocktails was memorable and even my 13 year son had a blast talking to our New Zealand born server.
We ate at the Manor House on a beautiful Friday evening and were seated outdoors. The view, of course, is lovely. More than that, however, our server was witty and knowledgeable, the food was delicious, and the environment was quiet enough for our two couples to stay and chat for a long while. We ordered the bacon wrapped figs and crab croquettes, both of which were flavorful and perfectly cooked. Out table also ordered the chicken piccata, flat iron steak, and Painted Hills 48-hour short ribs. The short ribs were moist and falling-off-the-bone tender over a bed of cheesy polenta with perfectly cooked chard on the side. There were no complaints! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, or for a relatively quiet meal in a very nice setting.
