Awesome venue with an amazing and elegant decor. The service is second to none and the food is great.
I've been going to The Manor buffet for years. Sadly, the quality of food has been declining throughout the years. The price per person has increased and yet the food is not representative of such. I'm hoping more care is taken to make sure the fried shrimp is not burnt, the chicken is not hard and that the food is replenished when the serving dishes empty (namely the ice cream cake on this occasion). I just do not see the attentiveness and desire to serve quality food like there was in the past. Sad.
The lobster buffet was not at all full, yet somehow the restaurant ran out of lobster 30 minutes into our 7:30 dinner reservation for nine. It was very awkward and embarrassing moment for me, to have to explain to my clients that this has never happened before in my past experiences. I ended up taking them somewhere else afterwards to make it up to them. Overall, great staff and attention.
Everything about the manor's buffet is outstanding.Great service, excellent food, and a wonderful dessert.Well worth the the cost.Every one with the means should enjoy this classy buffet. You will not be disappointed.
Buffet quantity does not make up for the mediocre quality of the cuisine. Service staff was wonderful and extremely attentive.
I made the reservation with open table ( all good ) I called the morning of to confirm as we had a snow storm ( nobody answered the phone till after 10:00 our reservation was for 12:30 ) to be sure they were open ( we live over 50 miles away ) the lady who answered was quick to remind me of the "dress policy" and that a minimum of "18% gratuity" was customary. Upon arrival we were seated (4) nice corner of the restaurant and was greeted by our "two waiters" all good up to this point... after the disappointment of the quality of the food and the lousy service topped with people in the restaurant wearing jeans and "non business " casual attire, I felt embarrassed to have brought my friends to a overrated under delivered establishment.
I will not be going back any time soon ....
We came to celebrate 2 birthdays. It was our first time, and we were quite impressed by the service and the spectacular buffet. We were wowed by the large variety. The fish courses were spectacular and the best I have had. The filet and puréed potatoes deserved 2nd helpings. My daughter raves about the roast beef. And the pasta station offered many delicious selections. Our waiter was exceptional. I have not had service that impressive in years. We will be back in May for next celebration.
On sunday to much sea food.Saturday is sea food buffet.Sunday must be more meat platters and put back short ribs.Dean is great.
Celebrating a birthday
What a horribly overpriced buffet. The service was horrible. In the past, there was a dress code=men had to wear jackets. When I made the reservation, it clearly stated business casual attire required. I could not count the number of menu with ripped blue jeans. So sad. They should never have been allowed into the dining room
I’ve been coming here for years and always felt like it was a classy place. This time though I felt differently. The waiter, who was awesome (I ate at the buffet), he thanked us for dressing up. I didn’t understand until a little later a guy walks in with a baseball cap turned to the side jeans and untucked shirt. I was there in a tux (hey who doesn’t like to get dressed up from time to time). So the ambience was classy, the food was great, the wait staff were wonderful. But the clientele... it appears it’s a bit as the say where I come from “ghetto.” In my opinion The Manor should raise their dress code and turn away the riffraff who come in street clothes.
The Manor has a lobster buffet that is second to none. If you love lobster, as I do, you can eat lobster to your heart's content, and return for more as often as you like. You can start with jumbo shrimp as an appetizer that has already been peeled and eat as much as you want. The soups, particularly the cream of mushroom soup, are excellent. There is a pasta bar, and other entrees which are quite good. The dessert bar is wonderful. The creme brulee and flan were particularly good. The service is excellent - the waiters are friendly and attentive. The price, at $70 per person plus drinks, tax, and tip, was reasonable considering the value.
Great time for my moms 80th birthday. Staff was excellent and went out if their way to make it a great time for us all. Nice variety of food which was delicious and nice wine selection too.
We saw a waiter picking his nose. the food was sitting out for a few hours
Buffet was excellent...service was exceptional!
Only negative was items on the buffet were not clearly marked with ingredients. Suggestion would be list ingredients or if items are Gluten Free.
The ordoves were great and the lobster was good but why give the whole body when all your eating is the tale and the other dishes are always the same nothing special desert was great as always been there many times and it has gone down hill over the years
This is always a first choice when it comes to having a celebration for Anniversaries, Birthdays, Special Events, Milestones, etc. The service is fantastic!! We had great waiters especially David. Very attentive, had great suggestions, was informative and very friendly. The place is very clean. The staff were extremely hospitable - even if they were not serving you. You will feel special from the time that you are greeted until your departure. Definitely a place to put on your list!!
Soup was cold. Sushi awful and oysters were just awful. I could go on and on . I do not eat meat so I can not comment on that.
Fantastic buffet! Quality was exceptional! Staff was wonderful!
Its not my wife and I first time eating at the manor. All of the times we went to eat there we were treated outstanding and the food is always great!
The food, in general, had always been excellent. We go to the Manor at least once a year (anniversary and/or New Year's Eve), but this year, some of the dishes lacked the same quality in previous years. In particular, the fish dishes were either overcooked, or not replenished. Lobster and beef wee good, but the tortellini station had been replaced by a pasta-to-order chef that takes about 5 minutes to make. Most chafing dishes, soups and cold appetizers were the same. Service was superb. Desserts were great too.
The food was decent, the seafood was more than worth the price. If your a big seafood lover then you will absolutely get your money’s worth here
The Manor was amazing years ago. Was taking our adult sons out for a special occasion so wanted to take them here for the first time.
It’s still a beautiful place but it feels like you are stepping back in time when you walk in and the dining room is a little cramped and stuffy.
We went for the buffet which we remembered as being very good but were disappointed in the variety and creativity of the options. The lobster was good and plentiful but one of my sons doesn’t eat seafood and he didn’t care for many of the other choices. There also weren’t many other hot seafood choices. The cold shrimp was also very good but there wasn’t much else on the salad/ cold choices that were even tempting.
It seemed like there were a lot of regulars (mostly older folks) and the place was crowded for a Thursday night so it still seems to have a following but for the price, we’ve had better meals, including when we’ve eaten at their other restaurant, Highlawn Pavilion.
Won’t rush to come back.
The Manor is so beautiful and the staff is amazing!!!
The food is always good here. While the buffet options are usually obvious, it would be helpful if more of the selections were labelled. When calling to confirm my reservation the woman read out the dress code and seating time limit for the Wednesday buffet. I thought it was a bit strict, but I understood that it's better to clarify that prior to one's arrival. What I didn't like was that the dress code wasn't enforced. I saw several people way underdressed, wearing jeans, and one person wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
I feel like if you're going to review your dress code during a reservation confirmation you should stick to it when someone arrives dressed inappropriately. I remember instances where guests were asked to put on a jacket provided so they could adhere to the dress code.
Birthday and great food and service
The lobster was delicious, as well as the raw oysters, raw clams and shrimp! The prime rib was excellent too! The mushroom soup is a favorite of mine. Very elegant during the holidays!
I hold the Manor for special occasions with people I hold near and dear. The ambience is elegant and shows those who attend that they are special to say the least. Never have I been disappointed with the quality of service nor the food and I always look forward to my next experience at this fabulous place!
The dining \food was excellent. The only negative comment that I have is the valet parking the attendance are very courteous but they need to instruct patrons not to block exits or enter the facility going in the wrong direction which makes it difficult to leave. My recommendation would be better organization.
I truly loved the food, service and ambiance. Everything is always magnificent.
It was nice probably needed to get there earlier to really enjoy
Love coming here but --- I was disappointed that there was some people in sweatshirts, hoodies, jeans, boots, sneakers etc. I loved always dressing up and I feel this restaurant should continue to enforce appropriate dress codes!
not worth the high cost. limited options for what u pay for. a lot of the food was mushy or dried out.
Went for a last minute sunday brunch with my daughter. Been to events here many times. Brunch is in a beautiful room, food is unbelievable in terms of variety, high quality and quantity. Buffet is nicely arranged and easy to navigate
Had to search for waiter a few times for coffee refills but otherwise service was very good
It is on the high end of price range without a doubt. I didn't care for the suggested tips on the bill and the waiter circling 20% especially for a serve yourself buffet. That just comes across as unprofessional. I mean this isn't TGIFs
The seafood / lobster buffet at the Manor is a Long-time tradition. The room is ornate and classy as are the personnel that serves and attends to the customers.
The bill is a hefty price tag at $67.50/per person without tax, tip or beverages. So is it worth the price?
The short answer is "no" as the lobsters are the star of the show and they give you mutant lobsters with only 1 short claw. Therefore, the only meat is actually the tail!
So, they give you a big lobster with only tail meat and 1 tiny claw. This is very disappointing...
Yes, there are plentiful shrimp (small) and cold poached salmon and whitefish as well as a pasta station. There are also ribs and turkey and prime rib carving, but this is a seafood/lobster buffet!! Give the customer a proper lobster and let them each claws. Then I would feel better about spending over $200 per couple.
The ambience and personnel don't need any tweaking - just the star of the buffet.
Elegant and timeless, the Manor has been consistently a gem! The food is delicious and the presentation is fantastic. The wait staff is attentive and pleasant. The selection of foods is large and there a dishes for all appetites. The flow of the buffet is comfortable and it's easy to move about the room. I especially like that the desserts are small enabling the guests to savor multiple sweet treats!
Upscale, friendly, and delicious. Service was impeccable! We celebrated a milestone anniversary with friends and were treated like royalty.
Excellent cuisine, relaxing ambience. Highly recommended for special occasions.
