The Majestic Yosemite Hotel conveys a feeling of elegance and refinement while maintaining a comfortable, natural atmosphere. The logs of stripped and polished sugar pine, which support the 34-foot-high beamed ceilings, reinforce the rustic ambiance that is reflective of The Majestic’s mountain surroundings.
The servers (unfortunately didn’t get her and his name) are awesome, very kind, excellent customer service , they made sure that we are comfortable and always ask if we need something else.
Excellent ambience and definitely will come back and will recommend to friends and family.
The dining room and the piano music are worth the price. The food is not memorable, but adequate.
Appetizers were reasonable, though the duck gnocchi and the lamb chops were almost inedible
Steak was awful. Too tough to cut and chew. Servers had a bad attitude.
For the prices and the venue, I would expect the food to be very special. It was just okay and was overpriced for what was served. Waited a long time to have our order taken, and over 15 minutes to receive our bill at the end. Waitress was very friendly, but overly chatty at all tables around us. As much as the Ahwahnee is a landmark and beautiful, I don't think we would eat there again.
The service was good and the basics were fine, but the chef is trying too hard to be creative. Best example is the kid's Mac & Cheese contains ham, grilled onions and gouda. Really, what kid wants that? Scampi was obviously frozen. The entree called "Quinoa with Root Vegetables" was super spicy and the only root vegetables to be found were three tiny cubes of carrot.
Great ambience. Piano music was very soothing. The sound of the concert grand piano filled the huge hall. Surprisingly not echoey or loud.
Amazing views, great service, perfect ambiance !
This was by far the most disappointing experience ever! The food was below fast-food restaurant quality for an incredibly high price. Absolutely not acceptable! I'll never go back and will make sure to share my experience with everyone I know.
Vegetarians/Vegans - this review is for you. The Majestic is beautiful and has great service and ambiance, but they are very old school when it comes to the menu. If you have a plant based diet, prepare to overpay for food that doesn't quite compare to what you make at home. Vegetarians can get the standard pasta based carb meal or Vegans can get some red and white quinoa with some roasted veggies. Not a lot of food and not much thought or effort by the chef's.
We were very pleased with our brunch. The prime rib with au jus was amazing!
My family has been coming here for sunday brunch for the last 15 years, and the quality has gone down hill dramatically since the new consession company took over. This use to be an amazing sunday brunch with impecable service and truly top quality food and selection. Now, it's just an overpriced breakfast buffet that relies on the ambiance of the amazing hotel it's served within. Service was very poor (rexervation for 12 only had seating for 11, and took forever to get drinks/coffee). Food quality was not good (most things were overcooked and flavorless). Food selection was more limited than prior years (lots of family favorties from prior years weren't available). Overall a dissapointing experience, and an expensive one at that. This has always been the highlight of the weekend for us - my wife especially (who has always emanded that we come for the brinch). After this visit, even my wife said she probably doesn't want to come back.
BRUNCH is amazing. Wonderful selection and wonderful quality. I highly recommend!
SPECIAL NOTE: If you time it right, try to be in the room when Paul sings "It's a Wonderful World" - great moment and even better memory.
We just did the a la carte Sunday breakfast. It was very good, but the selection was limited. The brunch buffet looked delicious! Next time!
Lunch menu was amateur at best. Simple food prepared mediocre. Service was between good and fair depending on who came around. Wait staff seemed to be on edge as if they weren't allowed to enjoy their job. Not a fun place to dine
