The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food and great jazz. We serve brunch Saturday and Sunday, lunch Monday-Friday, and dinner seven nights a week. Featuring Kansas City's best dry-aged beef, chops, and seafood and located in the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building at 10th and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, The Majestic Restaurant offers a true Kansas City dining experience like no other. Enjoy a great steak and fine wine in our main dining room alongside a grand bar dating back to 1910, or have dinner in our lower level jazz club, the site of an actual speakeasy during prohibition, all while listening to some of Kansas City's best jazz musicians seven nights a week. An extensive wine list, creative cocktails by nationally renowned bartender Shawn Moriarty, a list of over 100 whiskeys, and a sinful selection of delectable homemade desserts provide the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the music.

Great steakhouse in KC. Quaint little place with plenty of character. Steak was delicious, would definitely go back. The upstairs is like an old school bar with a dining room and the basement is a much cozier and more relaxed atmosphere with nightly jazz (I think it's nightly). The overall feel of both floors is inviting. Recommend!

We are fans of the Majestic and consider it one of the best steak houses in town. Brunch is another story. The dining room upstairs was packed very tightly. I assume to avoid seating anyone downstairs. The servers barely had room to serve. Our meal took an incredibly long time to arrive and one had an extremely hot meal while three were room temp. The french toast was a soggy blob. All meals were sub par while very pricey.
Majestic needs to up their brunch game or stick to what they do best which is steaks snd drinks.

One of the coolest places in KC. Great for brunch or lunch, but make sure you go back in the evening for jazz downstairs!

It is a great environment. Food was solid and our server was great but he was overwhelmed as it seemed the entire wait was as well. We had a reservation but our waiter was triple sat and continued to get more tables so we were left waiting while we saw him all over the restaurant attending to multiple tables. Maybe they were short staffed that night but their wait staff was overwhelmed but did a great irregardless.

This was our second visit to the Majestic for a business meeting and meal. Unfortunately our second visit was not as stellar as the first. Our waiter was slow and not very attentive. He seemed very new and needed additional training in serving. Spilling wine while serving seems an unusual thing for a restaurant of this caliber. It took forever for our appetizer to come to the table. Not sure if that was the waiter or the kitchen.
Food was lackluster. I ordered a bone in Filet and it arrived with grill marks and frankly looked plastic. I ordered it medium rare and it came out rare and cold. Saw the steak at the table next to us and it looked the same. The gentleman ate very little of it.
The kitchen needs to tighten things up alittle. They pride themselves on great steaks.
Maybe it was just an off night.

Food, wine and service was amazing. Kind of strange, but there were multiple gnats or fruit flies that kept flying around our table. We killed 2-3 and still had a couple buzzing around.

I have eaten at the Majestic several times but this was not a good night for their wagyu steaks. Mine was originally undercooked but was corrected and my date's steak was tough. I always enjoy the Majestic but Friday night's meal was disappointing as I brought my friend there for his birthday... it was also his first visit to the Majestic.

Love the Majestic! Our family of four went for Easter brunch. Both teenagers loved their meals as did my husband and I. Baked french toast was to die for as was the portobello eggs benedict. Service was great, ambience with the live piano player was delightful.

Trip Advisor has Majestic as the #2 steakhouse in KC. We were disappointed, for we've had much better steaks at Texas Roadhouse or Longhorn. Majestic doesn't even serve bread with the meal--a great feature of both TR and Longhorn.

It’s a treat to have dinner in the basement with live music. The food is excellent and the ambiance is unapologetically old-fashioned, although don’t let this latter observation deter you; it’s part of the charm rather than a detraction. Prices are high, so plan on $100 per person, but the steak is the best in town and the staff treats you like nobility.

We decided to splurge on an expensive steak while in Kansas City, which is known for its great steaks. We were ushered into the basement speakeasy (where the jazz is played) but it was way too early for jazz. We ordered cocktails but our waiter brought our salads very soon after the cocktails were brought, and we wanted time first before we ordered wine and had our salads. As soon as we had finished our salads, the main course (steaks) arrived, but we still hadn't finished our cocktails. We felt very rushed--this is not how meals are sequenced in a good restaurant. Our steaks very absolutely not worth $43 each. One had a vein of that hard, white grizzle through it (which makes it called a "vein steak"), and fat and grizzle elsewhere, and it was very chewy, as in, chew for 3-4 minutes per bite. The other was a little better but still not up to the standards of a good steak. We complained and the waiter comped a glass of wine, but the entire steak should have been comped (or the entire meal). We were told that a substandard steak "slips through" once in a while. That's not an excuse for a high-end restaurant. We told the maitre 'd about it on the way out but all they did was apologize (and give us the "slips through" excuse). I could have had three good meals at Outback Steak for the price we paid for a subpar meal at this place. Very overpriced and quite underwhelming.
