Poached eggs and grilled salmon fillets over sauted spinach and toasted focaccia with hollandaise
Fantastic food and entertainment. With all the craziness in the world currently, they handled the seating time of 1.5 hours very nicely. No rushing even if you went over by a couple minutes. Pleasurable experience.
Love this place no matter what. They did a great job keeping everything right and up to par during this COVID stuff. Best bartender in KC!
Great old school steak place..
Overall fantastic, waiter extremely knowledgeable but recommended the most expensive items on menu, made up for it with great suggestions to go to after dinner.
Considering COVID mandates, excellent atmosphere, great food and service. Will definitely return again. Thank you very much for the fine evening!!
as always, great food and good service. . .have been there many times and have never left disappointed. . .
Everything was GREAT! The Food, the waiter, the piano player!
Will for sure be going back!
Bill Kansas City
The food was outstanding, one of the best steakhouse experiences I've ever had. I would definitely come back if I am ever in the Kansas City area again.
Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the Majestic. Advertised a jazz trio on the website to be playing this particular night (July 25th) but a ragtime piano player was there instead. We do NOT like ragtime. Steaks were much less done than ordered. We didn’t complain but should have requested more fire. I regret that as it further took away from the experience. What was worse is they overcharged $4 for my wife’s bone in filet and $6 more than what was listed on the wine menu for the bottle of red we ordered. The ticked “seemed” a little pricier when I presented my credit card but I did not question. Wish I had of.
Overall for the $235 meal cost .... it was not worth it. What’s more, it was planned to be a really special night to celebrate. Very disappointed in the experience. Will be awhile before I return.
Our server, the pianist, & food were excellent! It was the 3rd time we have dined there & the second time in the basement--always a fabulous experience! Our waiter, Jacobi(sp?), was super awesome & helped make our 11th anniversary dinner especially enjoyable. Highly recommend for a nice dinner & excellent entertainment.
Really great food and the live piano was excellent!
Ordered rack of lamb medium rare, every piece was well done, not a spot of pink in sight. Husband ordered his 12oz strip medium and his plate was flooded with blood. The “minimal upcharge” for better sides added $16 to each entree. When I asked if a candle from the numerous lit ones on the bar could be placed on our table, the manager rolled his eyes and said no due to COVID. Didn’t mind the no answer, but he didn’t need to have the attitude. It was my husbands 55th birthday, when waiter asked if we were celebrating something we told him birthday, he said save room for dessert. At the end of the meal he asked if either of us was interested in dessert. I asked about the birthday cake and they don’t do complimentary dessert for any occasion. Couple next to us was celebrating 29th anniversary, no dessert for them either.
Delicious food. Atmosphere was great. Romantic spot, great date night location.
Once again, a great experience at the Majestic. Tables were social distanced, common areas were sanitized as the night went on. Food was great as usual. Service was top notch.
Great food, great service as always! They are taking great precautions to provide a safe environment for everyone--ended up with a very intimate ambience that was a nice treat!
Really a 5 star experience. We had the fired Risotto appetizer, two cocktails and an entree. All were prepared excellently. There was plenty of parking available and we felt safe with the restaurant's health protocols. Additionally, Bram Wijnands was on piano and was also excellent (as always). Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, higher-end night out.
Simply amazing. Would recommend to anyone . Perfect food and cocktails
We love The Majestic. Super food, service and ambiance.
My salmon was cooked on the edges but when I got to the thick of the filet it was not done still spongy. When the waitress was told why didn't you tell me.
1, outside edges were done so I took for granted the whole fish was done.
2, She only came back buy our table twice.
3, Waitress said that's how we cook the fish. And that's a lie.
We will never be back. Over priced and only wanted to comp us a 10.00 dessert.
Loved the piano, my drink with delicious, food also so good
First time here with my date and it was an absolutely wonderful time! The staff made sure all their guests were safe and comfortable for covid regulations. There was still live music! Which is the main reason we went. The food is phenomenal. Spendy but absolutely worth every penny! My date and I sat in the lower level with the live music playing and due to covid there is a 1 hour and 30 minute dine time so that the staff can clean, sanitize and get the next session ready. It was plenty of time to enjoy the meal! You must call to make a reservation which I thoroughly enjoy doing. Staff even went above and beyond of some the requests that my date and I had. I called ahead of time and they were more than happy to help.
The atmosphere of the place, the wonderful and friendly staff, the amazing delicious food, and the live music made this one of my most favorite experiences to dine in at in Kansas City. <3
Our lady waiter was just great! We had a great time with attentive service!
Been along time since dining here. Steaks weren't as good as the past. For all the hype of Wagyu Beef, pretty tough. Service was impeccable as always. Just need to bring the food up to the same level
Had a great time for our anniversary dinner, would definitely recommend and go back.
17th anniversary dinner. Cap was phenomenal, he took great care of us. The food was incredible and we left sated. From opening drinks to desert not a negative to bad had a a grand way to celebrate.
Overall I definetely give them high marks for superior steak house cuisine. Atmosphere was very suttle and relaxing with great nuances for a special romantic date. Cocktails were very exceptional as was the amazing crab cake appetizer. The entree itself was perfectly executed with the highest beef I will definetely return as well as refer people to Majestic.
Wonderful evening! We sat downstairs in the jazz club which was a great experience. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. I would definitely go back.
This is where I go for excellent steak, or just to have an whiskey at the bar. Service is stellar!
A couple of the steaks for our party were quite less than the medium ordered. The cocktails were exceptional. The ice cream/tart desert was wonderful. Personally, I thought the zucchini side Wednesday nite was really good. Our server could not have been better. The jazz was spectacular but a little loud at times. Overall - outstanding evening. We'll be back next year during the Big 12 basketball tournament.
Majestic jazz restaurant is spectacular
Great music while you eat nice steaks
Had hanger steak tonight beautiful
Great good, great service, great drinks and great selection of jazz music. The environment was invitingly romantic and comfortable. Very pleasant experience for our first time visiting for date night! Will go back again.
Our food was delicious & cooked to perfection. Our service was outstanding. We had a great time. Thanks
Excellent food and entertainment with a classy ambiance.
The Majestic is a must. Old school, history, great food, killer service. Kind of place you just keep coming back to. Enjoy a cocktail downstairs and just dig the chill vibe. I get to KC a bunch and try to make it to The Majestic about every other trip.
Cody was a wonderful server and made us feel right at home.
We were informed on on less than 4 (yes, that's four) separate occasions that we had to leave by a certain time to make way for a later reservation. The salad was a terrible waste of perfectly good vegetables, the steak was unimpressive, and the bread was disappointing. I have encountered bread I enjoyed and bread I disliked previously, but never before have I been disappointed in bread. It was very much like I imagine a tasteless, over-salted sponge might taste if one were to apply butter to it. The music was a nice touch, any perhaps it would be worth visiting this establishment to enjoy it, but I would only do so after stopping at McDonald's first. The food there is a far better value per dollar spent. Nothing was majestic about the experience and I see no reason to ever return.
Music is always fantastic and the vibe is great and food is very consistently great. Only thing that was wierd about this time is my filet was cut into to check for doneness. Seemed odd for a steakhouse. Filet was still great but just wierd that it was cut into. Figured they would have used a thermometer. But it was still great!
The food was great, the service was good (better at other tables) and the corporate code written in the receipt was ignored on the receipts, but the overall ambiance and music (just a little too loud for an intimate dinner) was exceptional.
Great experience, delicious food. Only complaints are our table was small and the wines are overpriced compared to other fine dining in K.C.
Great waiter good food little too much food.
