About The Majestic Restaurant
The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food and great jazz. We serve brunch Saturday and Sunday, lunch Monday-Friday, and dinner seven nights a week. Featuring Kansas City's best dry-aged beef, chops, and seafood and located in the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building at 10th and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, The Majestic Restaurant offers a true Kansas City dining experience like no other. Enjoy a great steak and fine wine in our main dining room alongside a grand bar dating back to 1910, or have dinner in our lower level jazz club, the site of an actual speakeasy during prohibition, all while listening to some of Kansas City's best jazz musicians seven nights a week. An extensive wine list, creative cocktails by nationally renowned bartender Shawn Moriarty, a list of over 100 whiskeys, and a sinful selection of delectable homemade desserts provide the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the music.

The Majestic Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We chose this restaurant from the KC Restaurant Week list. The service was good...not exceptional...but good. I had to ask for more hot water for my tea and wasn’t given a new tea bag so it was just hot water. The food was good. I had the Hummus which was the best part of the whole meal. The salmon was very tasty, but the polenta was a bit bland. I did also enjoy the butternut squash accompaniment.
I had to pay $10 just to park (not the norm for all of the other areas in KC).
All in all I probably would not go back.
Again, this was for Restaurant Week so my expectations and my previous RW experience this year may have set the bar a bit high.
We went for restaurant week. Great music and atmosphere. Our server was knowledgeable and nice, although we lost him for awhile about halfway through the meal. Our main course took a long time to arrive, and when it did our steaks varied pretty widely in quality and consistency of doneness (we all ordered the same). Granted, we ordered from the restaurant week menu, and so expect a little less quality cut of meat for the price, but several in our party had gristly & tough steaks. Would give it another try, but that was disappointing for sure.
We went to Majestic while in town for an NFL game last weekend. It was ok. Service, drinks and dessert (creme brulee) were amazing. I ordered a T-bone and that was just ok, it was similar to a regular grocery steak quality which is a bit disappointing. It was edible, but just ok. Cocktails and Dessert made up for it.
Excellent place. Fantastic food and a great atmosphere. We have driven down from Des Moines on each of the past three December 26ths. It has become a family tradition.
The bartender is a great mixologist and you can't beat the steaks.
The jazz club downstairs is also a must see/hear.
This was a last minute decision the night before Christmas Eve. We wanted to have a good meal and listen to good jazz. We were not disappointed. Luckily we got the last 5:30 reservation in the jazz club downstairs at the Majestic. At 7pm we were told we would have to give up our table and sit at the bar or at the tables reserved for jazz listeners. It worked out perfectly and we had one of our best nights out on the town. The food was delicious and the music was wonderful. Thank you to the staff and musucians for a lovely evening.
As excellent as always! My husband and I took our college daughter and her friend to dinner prior to attending a concert at The Kauffman. The waiter had excellent recommendations, including the killer mac and cheese side. The steaks were fantastic, the bison was delectable, and my husband said his salmon was the best he'd ever had.
I went to Majestic for a birthday celebration for my boyfriend. He truly enjoyed it and wants to come back to experience dinner. The live music was just what we needed. We had brunch. The crabcake benedict had a rich hollendaise sauce and the French toast was flavorful. I wanted my eggs a certain wellness and they accomodated me.
