Sauteed served with remoulade
Went here for my anniversary and our server Steven was very attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered the lamb and it was tender and delicious. The piano player in the corner was very enjoyable. We are excited to find another occasion to return soon.
The Majestic offers live jazz music and serves great food. It was an outstanding choice for my wedding anniversary.
Great service and great food. Drinks were amazing and selection was one of the best I’ve seen.
It was a great experience at a classic KC steakhouse but I was actually a little disappointed in my food. The steak soup had so much thyme in it that’s absolutely all I could taste the rest of the night. My steak was well cooked and I ordered the pepper crusted with a peppercorn sauce, probably my mistake, but I wanted the sauce to have another taste than just pepper but I really couldn’t taste anything else, other than the time I was still tasting from my soup. I love pepper crusted filet but this with the peppercorn sauce was just too much of a good thing. This could just be a mattered of taste and other’s will love all the peppercorn, I could have ordered it on the side and probably been much happier. My husband had the seafood étouffée, he said it was good and all the seafood was cooked well but regretted not getting a steak in a steakhouse.
On a positive note the waiters and staff could not have been nicer and more attentive. I didn’t get to experience any of the jazz that they are known for but I would go back there for dinner, try something else and hopefully here the jazz.
Oh I loved my creamed spinach!!!
We visit the Majestic every time we are in Kansas City. We have always had a great time and enjoy our time at this outstanding restaurant.
Had a wonderful evening, with live music and great food and service.
Lovely restaurant, great ambiance, knowledgeable and nice wait staff and truly excellent food. Great place to celebrate anything!
Wonderful time, service was top notch, food was exactly what we expected, cocktails were delicious, table in the piano bar was the perfect ending. Love the steakhouse.
Perfect atmosphere. Great taste as far as the food goes. Drinks are nice and strong as well.
Our 1st year anniversary and everything was amazing, and we had such a great experience! We would recommend that Majestic to others, definitely!!!
Wonderful as always.
We loved the whole experience! As soon as we walked in we were told about the history of the Restaurant which is really interesting. We had a great sever who had knowledge of the wine selections. Food was great, the best filet I’ve had at any local restaurant. The jazz pianist was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be going back!
Great food and service!
Always a good meal and service but on this visit they had trouble delivering a medium prime rib or the filet they replaced it with. First time we were let down but we love the place.
The steak that we ordered at a lot of fat and waste on it for the price.
Amazing beef... knowledgeable staff... classy atmosphere!
My wife and I have been to the Majestik many times but not since Covid. The restaurant is still the same but with many less tables. Our waitress was new and told us seven people didn't show that day for work which probably explained her inexperience. I would guess she's normally a hostess. She was friendly enough just not knowledgeable. What was bad was the food. My wife said her fillet didn't taste quite right. I ordered the prime strip. Half of it was gristle that I could neither cut nor eat. Even the part with meat was hard to cut and the flavor made me think it was old. The waitress was kind enough to offer they could remake it, but I did not take her up on it. We ordered desert as we were both still hungry. We could tell the one we received had been sitting around for a while. It was hard, cold and flavorless. Frankly I'm sure Covid is wreaking havoc on everyone. Hopefully as circumstances improve the restaurant will return to previous glory. Until then we will stay with more reliable choices.
Great food and great environment. Wonderful staff- helpful and knowledgeable.
Went there thinking it was going to be a very fancy place it wasn't, people was dressed in in jeans and t shirts and tennis shoes. Food was way over priced, we got better food at Longhorns restaurants and service was not great for not being that busy. Very disappointing Anniversary dinner.
Thank you for practicing distancing and keeping us safe. We LOVE Bram!
It ‘‘twas delightful. My Etouffee ignited my senses through a lovely medley of scallops, shrimp and crab smothering roasted garlic grits. The exceedingly palatable dish complimented my Joie de vivre.
We've been there many times over the years but this time was quite different. With the Pandemic we were the only customers in the restaurant the entire time we were there. It was odd and quite surreal. The food is always exceptional but this time it actually felt like they opened up just to allow us to celebrate our anniversary. I will say that the parking lot we've parked in for years is now a private lot so we had to park at 9th and Central and walk a block which might be sketchy in bad weather or at night alone.
A week before our 33rd wedding anniversary, I made reservations online at The Majestic. In the note I requested seating down stairs to watch and listen to the Jazz band. Two hours before our 7pm reservation, they call indicating that the seating in the basement occurred at 6 & 8pm and that my seating would be on the main floor. Unfortunately, all basement reservations were full. After arriving, we decided on a familiar bottle of Italian red wine. After a couple of minutes, the server indicated they didn’t have it in stock. We then order a familiar bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and a cheese plate. The waiter soon returned indicating they did not have that Cab and offered us another, pricier option. After trying the wine and agreeing they would charge us the price of the Cab they did not have, we enjoyed our cheese plate and wine. We ordered our main course, filet for the wife, rib eye for me both cooked medium. The waiter recommended the steak soup and my wife ordered it. When it was served, the waiter told my wife they were out of the filet and he was going to replace it with the bone-in filet at no up-charge. After trying the soup, we both decided it was glorified brown gravy with a few meat chunks that needed salt. As the server passed, we requested salt and pepper. After a few minutes, we realized he had forgotten our request and so we just finished our soup and salad. My rib eye was cooked perfectly and delicious. The bone-in filet was 2” thick and looked delicious. However, it was cooked and served at a rare temperature where the center 1” was raw, not her preference. We considered returning it but didn’t want to wait 20 minutes on her food while I finished mine. After we each ate about half of our steaks, we switched and I finished her filet.
We both decided The Majestic didn’t meet our expectations. It is overpriced and the service wasn’t that good. There are far better steak houses in town for the money. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
If you are in the Kansas City area, you absolutely need to come here for a nice, romantic night out. The 1920s aesthetic of the place makes a wonderful experience, without being dated, and the staff is absolutely sublime. You will not regret a trip here.
The best steak house in Kansas City. Steaks cooked perfectly, great service, great atmosphere !
Wonderful! Love the service, food and music. I took my niece and son on a Friday night and had an amazing evening. The majestic staff really have the gift of hospitality. The steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The pianist played beautiful music which we all thoroughly enjoyed. My favorite restaurant in KC.
I was disappointed that the website menu had bone-in ribeye but when we ordered there was no offering for bone-in. My wife loves bone-in ribeye, and had ordered it for the last 24 years of our marriage. It hurt to see her disappointment for our 25th Anniversary.
Great food and amazing service! Truly an all around great experience.
The steak was a tough piece of meat. Disappointing given the expense. The mashed potatoes and other sides were good.
The service was great but my food was very disappointing for the price. I got the 14 oz ribeye but there was hardly any flavor. No seasoning and it definitely didn’t taste like it was dry-aged. I will not be going back.
The Majestic restaurant is amazing. From the wonderful ambience to the out standing food. Hands down has to be one of the best meals we ever had at a restaurant.
Great dinner celebrating my anniversary. My husband and I both got the prime rib and it did not disappoint. The live music is always a plus. Great food and service.
The quality of the food was excellent, as always. However, they have limited their menu and no longer offer the amazing artichoke dip or fresh bread with the salads. Also, there were no reservations available at 6:30, so I picked 7pm. When we arrived, there was no one else in the restaurant. Appears as if they didn't open until 7pm, which is not what the hours were stated.
Amazing dining experience. The wait staff was a cut above and extremely professional. The food was delicious and we would highly recommend their charcuterie board. The atmosphere was very old-school which added to the overall experience. We usually don't go to the same place twice in order to try new things, but for this one, we'll likely be back.
Birthday dinner. Food was just average. Highly overpriced, for the quality of the steak. My son had a 10 oz ribeye for $80. I had a 4oz walleye that cost $72. Underwhelming food.
Now, to the service: EXCEPTIONAL. Server was very courteous. Very attentive and knew the menu to the letter.
The service was by far the best part of the meal. The steak was average. The service and drinks, amazing.
Fantastic food and entertainment. With all the craziness in the world currently, they handled the seating time of 1.5 hours very nicely. No rushing even if you went over by a couple minutes. Pleasurable experience.
Love this place no matter what. They did a great job keeping everything right and up to par during this COVID stuff. Best bartender in KC!
Great old school steak place..
Overall fantastic, waiter extremely knowledgeable but recommended the most expensive items on menu, made up for it with great suggestions to go to after dinner.
