The Majestic Restaurant
Great food. Great service. Amazing atmosphere.
Since I had a reservation for 8:15 I though my seating experience would be pretty straightforward. After I checked in the young fella who checked me in told me he was checking me in and did it provide me with joe long it would be until I was seated. Needless to say it took a while. I ordered a steak which was ok, but underwhelming for what I am accustomed to paying for the price. The music which was a big reason I went there was average. Overall this is not an establishment I will be visiting in the future again.
Classic old school steakhouse. Live jazz in basement was awesome. Our server was exceptional Steak soup very tasty. Mashed potatoes were great especially the gravy. Roasted cauliflower was a nice treat and the steak the prime ribeye had great marble to it and was cooked perfect
There was a mixup on my reservation. There wasn't updated or given any information about the hold up on my table. And when i asked she gave me attitude. I felt like she punished us by sitting us in the corner. However, our SERVER WAS GREAT! He made up for the rudeness of the Host. Our food was good, slightly above average, but we had a good time. We would go back, but mostly because of the stories our server shared with us about the place.
It was a very nice restaurant, food wasn’t what I had hoped. I don’t know if it was because it was 9pm or whatnot.
Had bad experience the two individuals that had the sear pan chicken got horrible sick on Valentine’s Day must of been bad chicken.
The food was not cooked al the way,and the server was not all that good
I guess if you figure the value of the live jazz music into the price of the food, the value is fair. Otherwise way too expensive.
My 8 oz. Filet was closer to a 5 oz. Filet, ordered medium well, came medium rare, with no flavor whatsoever. I had to drown it in butter and a bit of salt to get some flavor to it. $50 for that, a plain baked potato, and 4 broccoli sprouts.
My wife had a cooked veggie plate that she enjoyed, but had upset stomach all the following day.
$140 with tip. A rather expensive and so so Valentine's dinner.
But hey, the jazz was good!
Fantastic. The food and service were both wonderful. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. A tremendous dining experience. We will be back.
The jazz was amazing and the food was equally amazing.
The food is great for brunch, service is great, and cocktails are great, however the steaks were dry, overpriced, and chewy.
This is the second time I have visited the Majeatic and both times I have been quite disappointed. The ribeye I ordered was thin, not flavorful, and extremely over-priced. The service was good but a bit pretentious. I expect more from a $100 meal for 2.
Our server was James Barbie. He did a wonderful job, the food was excellent and very good wine. Can't wait to go back. Have been going to the Majestic every year on our anniversary for 15 continuous years.
We had a group of 12 for Sunday brunch. Food and service was amazing.
The Majestic was a fun experience and the history behind the building was very interesting. Food was good but not worth the price. Service was great and Jazz bar downstairs was nice, but again I don’t feel the prices were in line with what you received. Overall we had a fun experience but won’t go back.
Great tasting food with excellent service. The online reservation service works like a charm...
Brandon was great. The only negative was the temperature of the room. It was cold, but it was 20* outside.🥶
Food and service are outstanding. Wonderful old building and décor. Tables are close and difficult to walk thru.
Too cold in restaurant. Food average to poor for three of the four of us. Jazz piano player was not too relaxing to listen to as I would have hoped.
Awesome 5 Star Food. 5 Star Atmosphere. 5 Star Service. Great music!. I'm going back!!!
We've made better steaks at home. Was a lovely building but food not to rave about. Disappointed that such an expensive place had so so food.
The service and atmosphere at the Majestic are too-notch. It is a relaxed and casual setting with a speak-easy feel. The food was very average, especially in regard to the price. The steaks were not bad, but they also were not what I would expect for a meal at that price. I had the Majestic, and it was extremely over-peppered.
My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to do something special. We were both excited to try the wagyu steak and decided to share a large steak dinner together. We were expecting great things but was very disappointed when our steak arrived so charred that is all we could taste. With a bill costing over $100 for one steak and 4 sides shared between us, we couldn’t believe our favorite part of the meal was steamed broccoli. Although the service was nice, the food was not worth the price. Save your money and get the two for $25 at Applebee’s.
The Jazz Club is great! The chef's special last Thursday was wonderful!
Always great! Wonderful good & service.
The service was outstanding. The food was well worth the cost. We frequent the restaurant several times a year. we have never been let down.
Best steak and baked potato I have ever eaten in my 53 years!
I did not care for the “stewed” vegetables.
Such a great night in a historic building with great food, music, and staff. Wish the Pendergast Club was more accessible to an out of towner rather than $50 to enjoy a cigar. Highly recommended overall!
This was maybe the best dinner out we have ever experienced. The drinks were large, the food was really good, the service was excellent and the live music can't be beat.
This is my favorite restaurant. I always have an outstanding experience.
Only negative was parking. Wish there was free parking. But I loved the jazz bar downstairs for after dinner drinks!
Really the best salmon I’ve ever had! The music was outstanding and service was perfect.
Although we’ve lived in the KC area for a long time have never been to Majestic before. Our favorite place for special occasions was The Peppercorn Duck Club before it was stupidly closed. We may have finally found our replacement. Atmosphere was good, food excellent, and our waiter Nicholas outstanding. Definitely will be back again soon, but later in the evening when the music is playing.
Great food and cool spot with interesting history. Live jazz was good, volume was perfect.
If you're looking for a great place to go for great jazz and good food this is the place to go.
Enjoyed the jazz club. Was worried it would be too loud for conversation, but instead the jazz musicians were talented and the music created a lively atmosphere. Noise level did not interfere with conversation.
We love The Majestic! Great food and service as always! We’ll be back, no doubt!
Great food. Amazing ambience. I felt like back to the 50s.
Food and atmosphere were great! Disappointing that they were out of a handful of things we wanted. Overall it was great!
