The Magnum Bar and Restaurant is nestled on a corner street in Edinburgh's New Town. With a host of regulars holding up the bar and locals and tourists alike dining all week its a happy mixture of relaxed dining with a familiar bar style. The welcoming staff make you feel at ease and are happy to offer any help with recommendations; from drinks, to where to go next!
With firm favourites such as Orkney Ribeye with Peppercorn Sauce, to more delicate Whisky Cured Salmon with Beetroot and Apple Relish The Magnum has something for everyone.

As ever, a very enjoyable lunch, with excellent service and great food. One of our favourite restaurants close to Edinburgh's city centre.

Good place for lunch in that part of town, away from the main streets. Easy metered parking close by. Good range of food well prepared and served.

Food very good; staff excellent. Unfortuntely, it was Sunday and no set menu available. it was also a little chilly where we were sitting and staff seemed unable to sort that problem. This lower area of restaurant not as "ambient" in general as upper area of restaurant. food and staff so good however, we will be back. This is a great pub/ restaurant with easy access to/from bus station and centre of Edinburgh.

Friendly, helpful and meals are served quickly especially when it is a working lunch.Quality of food is excellent - lunchtime haggis and neeps is exceptional! Wine choice good. Made to feel welcome . Decor is traditional and not too overwhelming - a good pub atmosphere but accommodates good eating as well. Let's hope it stays this way. How about a good Shepherds Pie or Mince and Dumplings!!

We held our Christmas night out here for the second year in a row as the food, service and ambience is fantastic. Despite there being 12 of us to serve the restaurant did a magnificent job with everyone very happy the event

Excellent meal. It's the sort of place that you would probably never come across, as it's in the New Town and off the main tourist routes. The food was excellent, as was the service. Highly recommended.

The resteraunt was nice but we were sitting right next to the opening to the bar so was very noisy. The food was nice but very small portions, especially for the price. My boyfriend had to get a kebab two hours after as he was hungry. We had a starter and a main and both were of small quantity.
