The Magnolia Thomas Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I love Magnolia Thomas restaurant. The food is definitely fit for a foodie! I cannot get enough of the different flavors, the presentation and the wine pairings. It is a real treat! If you are like me and enjoy meals as an event, then this is your restaurant.
Awesome experience and good food.
We eat brunch here often.
Used Opentable app to make reservation a few weeks out for Sunday Brunch at 2:00 pm. I️ requested in my reservation to be contacted if the restaurant was going to be very busy. Friday I received a call from Jenna at Magnolia Thomas to help me find an area of the restaurant that is quiet. Upon arrival Sunday we were provided the perfect table for seven. Had a great time. Waitress was great. Groupon saved me $80.
Perfect night to celebrate my birthday with my husband. Our server was amazing and we never felt rushed between courses. Started with the baked Brie which was mouth watering. Only wish is that they give you more bread with it. Next was a perfectly portioned salad, again never rushed on eating it. She waited until we were done and then the main course was served. The most perfect steak cooked to the right temperature. My husband had the special of the night, shrimp and risotto. His quote was who knew shrimp could taste like this. Finally we finish the night with the cranberry brownie. A divine chocolate dish that didn’t push us over the edge but left us extremely pleased. Came here because of a groupon. We will be back time and time again!
I have been to the Magnolia Thomas House many times for brunch, but our waitress this time was either new or did not know what she was doing! My husband asked for coffee and he never got it until the end of the meal. Our water glasses were never filled. I asked for biscuits and gravy and they were never brought out until I asked the third time. I had a Group On coupon and of course even though she had it from the beginning, she had to go and recalculate the bill. I gave her my credit card and we had to wait 15 minutes until she brought it back and then I had to ask for it...Her response, Oh, I have had it in my pocket for 15 minutes! It was ridiculous! The food on the buffet line also kept getting very low! This is the first time that we have had somewhat of an unpleasant experience!
My friend and I went for Sunday brunch, which is a buffet with certain additional items that come out from the kitchen. The food was good, but some was low when we went through and some other patrons had left a few of the spoons down in the food. The salad was good, but the mini cinnamon buns were dry and tough and none of the dessert items we tried were great. Our server was good sometimes, but we also went through long periods with empty glasses. Still, the ambiance was lovely and I would give it another try.
We had dinner at the Magnolia Thomas Restaurant two nights in a row. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was good. We had salmon and steak one night and pork and tilapia another. Each meal we ordered was delicious. We enjoyed everything we ordered and talking with our guests until the restaurant closed each night.
Went for 1:00 Pm brunch with a Groupon. Once we were seated in the main dining room, we heard a loud (voices, yelling, laughing) party going on in the eastern, somewhat separated portion of the restaurant. Once we were greeted by our waiter Ryan, we stood up to go enjoy the buffet Brunch. Simultaneously the party in the eastern wing started to gather in line, bringing the noise with them. They would not let anyone into the line, including wait staff to pass through with food. At one point it got so loud in the main room I had to go outside. We went back to our table, tired of waiting for this endless line from the separated dining area. If not for our waiter Ryan offering to bring us food from the kitchen, we would have left. Literally no food was left after the party group had gone through the buffet. Food was good from the kitchen. Lesson learned, don't make reservations for this restaurant online. Call to ensure there is no large party coming there at the same time, the restaurant is ill equipped/staffed for such an event. Thanks again to Ryan!
Took almost 2 hours to get our food after ordering off what would be considered a VERY limited menu. Food was ok but nothing worth waiting that long for. The specialty items were the worst things we ordered. Waitress was nice enough but not apologetic for the unreasonable wait. Definitely not going to go back.
We came to visit Magnolia Thomas because we had a Groupon. When I looked at the menu online a couple months ago it looked very unique. The current menu is good, but nothing to get too excited about. Make sure you view the menu directly from their website and not open table's website. The open table menu is not up to date and looks much better than their current menu.
We arrived around 5:00 p.m. We ordered the deep fried ribs for an appetizer. We also had the Java Crusted Steak and the Chicken Gourmand. Our food was well seasoned and tender. The service and atmosphere was great. There is nothing I can complain about. However there wasn't anything special about the food. I would recommend this restaurant if you live near Woodstock, or if you're in the area. Unfortunately I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here unless there was a more ambitious menu.
Good food and I love their house wine. It took longer than usual to get our entrees. The waitress was very pleasant and personable. This restaurant is very cozy, it feels as though you are sitting around the dining room table with family for Thanksgiving dinner.
Our experience at The Magnolia Thomas Restaurant was awesome! Shannon provided great service. The food was creative deliciousness! The ambiance was perfect for a date night with my husband. We had been there before to have brunch, but this was our first time having dinner there. It was a most pleasant experience, and we will definitely go back again. Kudos to everyone on staff.
The Sunday Brunch far exceeded everyone's expectations! The service was excellent++, and it was worth the price. We brought our 2 young boys (ages 5&8)...they loved the egg scramble, salmon, fish cakes, chIcken, seasonal fruit, mini-cinnamon rolls, etc.
Note: this is Fresh food. Quality food. Gourmet sauces. You'd expect this fare to be found in a 5-star restaurant downtown.
It's THAT good. It's cloth napkin, plated desserts, etc. GO! You'll be highly pleased!
Our first time here for brunch and we would definitely come again. The food was very good. The salmon was a tiny bit dry, but I think being on the buffet had something to do with that. For my taste, it could've used a little lemon, but overall the flavor was good. The only thing I would definitely change is the ranch dressing. For such a nice place I thought it would be homemade, but it was bottled. That took away from the elegant salad display, small but nicely arranged. However, the balsamic dressing was good. The decor was inviting, warm and quaint. The staff were friendly and outgoing. Overall a very enjoyable brunch!
