The Macintosh opened in September 2011 in downtown Charleston, SC. Located downstairs from its sister lounge, the Cocktail Club, and bearing the one-time name of the alley that runs alongside the building, the Macintosh explores the breadth of Lowcountry flavors in a comfortable setting. Executive Chef and partner Jeremiah Bacon showcases his talent for creating upscale, American cooking using the seasonal bounty provided by his local farmers and fishermen throughout The Macintosh's menu.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and absolutely loved our dinner! Chef does some truly amazing things with bone marrow, like seriously inventive and delicious. Can't say enough good things about the sweet breads, duck and steak. Thoroughly enjoyed each moment of our meal. Our server was well informed about the menu and decently prompt, had an awkward table presence but we enjoyed his service!

Had brunch with visiting friends. Loved the vibe of the restaurant, but it was noisy and we were glad to be in a corner at the front of the main room. Have to say the truffle fries are ridiculous! Order them. Food was very good - but there are a lot of places in CHS that are very good. Have to admit that we went because I couldn't get a reservation at Luke's. But glad we tried it.

A nice environment and the folks seem to try very hard. The food however is sub par. It seems they are trying too hard to develop complex dishes rather than focusing on what makes good food. Noticed the final prep area was backed up and perhaps that leads to meals sitting too long? Not much to like with any of the dishes we tried.

Definitely in the top 5 of Charleston's fine dining. Unbelievable service and friendliness of staff. Worth a trip there just for that. Don't miss this restaurant.

First time at Macintosh and it won’t be the last. Thank you, I will now be dreaming of the Mac Attack, which has a bone marrow bread pudding as it’s base-(don’t let the name scare you away, it was scrumptious). Washed down with a bacon Bloody Mary, I was in foodie heaven. And my husband, who had the skirt steak, exclaimed that it was the best he’s had outside of our own kitchen. This coming from a man whose steaks have caused 2 vegetarians to regain consciousness and eat meat again. Really was a highlight of our trip in a town with a great restaurant on every corner, this is a standout.

We were greeted and taken to our table by the manager, Julie. She also checked on us and brought us a complimentary salad which was delicious. Wonderful service which made for a great evening out! We have dined at The Macintosh several times and the food has been fresh and creative each time. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston!!

My favorite restaurant in Charleston! The menu changes seasonally based on local ingredients, so there are always delicious new things to try. Most recently the Anchovy Broccoli dish was to die for and so unique! :) My husband had the Deckle and the Bone Marrow Bread Pudding. He loved it! It was our anniversary and the server surprised us with a Goat Cheesecake! Speaking of service...it was knowledgeable and friendly and warm. So many staff stopped by our table to assist with service, it's hard to name just one. Everyone was delightful. Such a lovely evening! Thanks Macintosh!

We had not been in awhile to this restaurant but will definitely visit it much sooner next time. The food was delicious, including appetizers, entrees, dessert. Cocktails were right on target.

Second time visiting this restaurant and enjoyed it both times. My food was a little salty but manager was right on top of it. Offered a free appetizer while recooking (which I declined because I didn't want to be too full to enjoy my meal), offered free dessert (too full) and ended the night by comping us the first appetizer.

Try their special drinks!! Great place and even though a hiccup would still recommend and return again.

We like to try different places around Charleston that we haven’t been before. First of all, the service was outstanding. I don’t eat meat, so the waiter asked the chef to make the gnuddi appetizer vegetarian. Amazing! I think it’s a sign of a good chef to be able to adjust a menu item like that. My husband had the CAB Deckle and he put it amongst the top 3 meals of all time. I had the triggerfish and it was the richest fish dish I’ve ever had. Our waiter. Zack, and the manager were so gracious-very kind and attentive. We highly recommend. We checked out the brunch menu before we left , so we can plan to check that out too.

The food was amazing. I had the gnoddi with rabbit and a bone marrow pouddin. They also have non alcoholic beverages. I totally recommend it.

The drinks, food and service were all great, so it's easy to see why it's rated so high. Very creative approaches to the drinks and food. I had never had rudderfish. The triggerfish was also wonderful. It was a little noisy, but it was packed and a Saturday night. Enjoyed it!

Simply outstanding. Impeccable service. Unsurpassed food. This was our second time there. How impressed were we with our first visit? This much: we flew down from Long Island to Charleston just so we could spend a special birthday dinner at The Macintosh!

We haven't had anything that wasn't incredible, but our two favorites are the short rib cappelletti and the CAB Deckle-- a piece of meat that simply melted in my mouth.

From appetizers through dessert, an exquisite meal, made even better by literally perfect service. Attentive, but not overwhelming. Informative & friendly. Totally professional.

I cannot more highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
