Brunch: Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Amazing food and service and the atmosphere was stellar. We would definitely return, especially for the peach bread and Mac Attack.
Best brunch menu ever!!! Very unique and not typical!! Excellent!!
I have been to Macintosh several time in the past. We had not been back in 4 years, and as we were vacationing in Charleston, we could not miss it. Went to a 5 PM early dinner. Place is beautiful. Service is impeccable. Cocktails were great, wine list was kind of expensive, but we knew Macintosh is on the more expensive side. We had 3 appetizers (rudderfish, scallops and octopus). Octopus and the scallops were OK, the vegetable in the both dishes were spectacular, the protein OK. The rudderfish was impressive.
The worst (in our opinion) was the main course. It was a whole red snapper ( if I am not mistaken, or similar), whole fish fried, then kept in the oven. The fish was served over collard greens. I think the dish was the result of people watching too much of Chef's table and trying to come out with all kinds of abnormal recipe. Why fry the fish and then destroy all the crispness with watery collard greens? Why add bacon to fried fish? Why not salt the fish prior to frying it? Why not stew it? They basically destroyed a spectacular fish.
We did not even want to try their desserts. I hope this review will help their chef. Amazing but simple rather than complicated but poor.
Food, service and drinks were excellent.
After many visits to Macintosh, taking many visitors to Charleston there and recommending on Trip Advisor over and over, at this point in time I can't honestly recommend Macintosh if you are going to spend that kind of money. It's as if they are cutting corners and nickel and dimeing you to death...charge for bread and it's burned, I'm sorry. Grains, pasta and potatoes have been cut from the meals, but you can buy them on the side, I don't think so. Server who talks too much, ugh. Unless something drastically changes, this local won't be back any time soon.
First time at Macintosh and we will definitely be back. Overall just a great dining experience from the service to the delicious food! I loved the casual atmosphere too- no white tablecloths and the dress code is smart casual with men wearing shorts in the summer. Not overpriced either.
The food was good, but interesting portions. We had our own 2 person table with a long booth on one side and it felt like the tables on either side of us could hear our conversation as we could hear their's because the tables were so close together.
The level of service was outstanding. Even though our reservation was for the time the kitchen was to close, they went out of their way to host us and not have us feel rushed.
great server, amazing food, artistic cocktails. went for 1st anniversary and will always remember! definitely recommend☺️ (got the duck breast and the witches cocktail)
Great meal with outstanding service. Started with the stuffed squash blossoms then the scallops for
My spouse and I had the grouper. Followed dinner with a fresh berry and peach crisp. Outstanding meal.
Food was excellent & server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options.
From when we walked in the door until we left it was absolutely amazing! Caven was our server and was wonderful, the food was spectacular, and the ambiance was perfect for a quiet birthday dinner! I will most definitely be coming back more often!
This is always one of our very favorite Charleston restaurants. The services has always been outstanding and the food is so delicious. The cocktails and wine list are also top notch. On this particular occasion, I had let them know that it was my husband's birthday and that he was in love with the bone marrow bread pudding and if they could put a candle in it when we order it, he would think that is great. Instead, they made a dessert out of their bone marrow bread pudding and presented it to him after the meal. He was so surprised and and it might have been the best dessert we have ever had. The Macintosh never disappoints and somehow exceeds expectations every time we go there.
Brought friends from out of town, and they loved it. All dishes thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Wait staff and kitchen were terrific in their response to my friend who is both gluten-free and dairy-free, tweaking the vegetable platter to work for her. Love that they will divide the burger in 4 pieces for sharing. One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston.
On Sunday we brought friends, who had never been to Macintosh before. And they were impressed. So they will be back, and of course we will. We had been at a Piccolo Spoleto event that ended at 2:15 pm, and we were the last people in the restaurant for the 2:30pm reservation. The staff was gracious and accommodating. The brunch menu was excellent with both breakfast and lunch type meals. We were all happy.
Incredible experience from start to finish. We got there right at our reservation time and we’re seated promptly. Our server was very attentive and present throughout the meal... whenever you needed something, he was right there.
The manager came up and greeted us, introduced himself - thanked us for coming...
I come specially for the Mac Attack, but this was the first time we tried the poutine and man it was delicious - get the pork on it too!
Steak and Eggs classic and delicious. Over easy makes it extra tasty!
In and out in around an hour on a Sunday brunch.
Will be back soon!
Bad not worth the price
The food is creative and scrumptious. Our server Zach was exceptional!
Other than the bistro seating in a moderately loud restaurant (why are so many places going to this terrible idea?), this is a great spot for a great supper/drinks/good food.
The Duck was to die for and I haven’t seen it on many upscale restaurants in Charleston so I was very pleased to be able to have that. The burger and fries was also delicious (although $18 for a burger is pricy...) the plate came loaded with skinny parmigiana fries. We also had the peanut butter dessert which was very good however very sweet. All in all very good restaurant.
A disappointment in dining. The food is over-hyped. I had the quail...nothing special at all. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Charleston...strike this one from the list.
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is delicious, the service is excellent. I like that they offer some offbeat wines by the glass along with the usual ones. One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston.
Awesome farm to table menu. Our waiter Ryan was so knowledgeable and provided great service. His menu reccomendstiobs were spot on awesome!! One of the best meals I have ever had anywhere!!
Shrimp and grits was amazing ! Ribs were over cooked and underwhelming. Great Service but a huge dumpster outside which is an ugly view
Late night dinner.. the food and the service was outstanding!!! We love this place!
Always a must for us while in Charleston
Service and food 4+.
Cuisine very different complex flavors with good wine pairings. Service excellent from very knowledgeable staff
The food was flavorful and nicely presented, but my wife and I found the menu to be limited and the food portions small.
Clean friendly environment with a very attentive staff, food was good but the overall menu is very heavily balanced toward rich and fried foods. Could benefit from a few vegetable additions even as side items. Overall a nice spot.
My kids and I went to the Macintosh to celebrate Mother's Day with a brunch.
We were seated on the back patio. It was a warm day and the patio was shaded, beautifully decorated and very relaxing.
Not only was the service friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, but the food was absolutely amazing. From the Poutine with pork belly, steak & eggs and Huevos Rancheros to the funnel cake and the sweet strawberry pancakes we received as a Mother's Day gift.
I cannot say enough good things about the restaurant and look forward to many returns whether it be another brunch, a quick happy hour or a nice dinner.
Was there for Mother's Day brunch. Great food and ambiance. Our server was very friendly and helpful with questions about the menu.
Our meal exceeded expectations. It was divine. The staff were knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was diverse and rich. We loved everything we ate. The scallops were our favorite. The bone marrow bread pudding is also a must have. I hope to go back soon!
Awesome service, waiter was great!!!!!! Very good vibe, customers we’re impressed.
Another wonderful visit to The MacIntosh, this time with adult children, their friends and a friend of ours. All food, drinks, wine and service was very good. Our server, Zach, did a particularly great job. Recommended.
The food was delicious. And the cocktails were good. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed our meal and didn’t feel rushed. It was my daughters birthday and they brought her out a delicious dessert! Try the “Witch Doctor” cocktail.
Very knowledgeable wait staff helping us through the menu; nice small plates to share, a very cool, hip vibe. I highly recommend it.
The Macintosh blew my husband and me away in the best way possible! It was our first anniversary and they totally hooked us up and gave us the most incredible experience we could've ever asked for! You MUST get the bone marrow bread pudding, it's melt in your mouth DELICIOUS. All of the food was phenomenal, our server Mary Catherine and the manager Zach were out of this world generous and friendly, and overall my husband and I agreed that this was the best meal we have EVER experienced. We'll absolutely be coming back to visit on our next trip to Charleston!
Food was superb! Service was great.
As out of towers we asked a tour guide for one of his favorites. Exceptional food with wonderful service. One of the better meals I’ve enjoyed from the scallops appetizer to the steak dinner and ohhh the bone marrow bread pudding! ❤️ Highly recommend McIntoshs
