Brunch: Sunday: 11:00am - 3:00pm
The food selections were interesting but were made far more so by the excellent detail provided by our waiter. The food was very good and the service was exceptional. I would recommend this for special occasions or just a nice evening out.
The waiter was so knowledgeable and helpful
Just about a five star rating. The bread pudding is amazing but the vegetable plate is seriously disappointing: completely lacking flavor and just a combination of vegetables for 27 dollars. The burger and fries are nice and the Gnudi was fantastic.
As always, you never disappoint. Food and service were excellent.
Always like the CAB Burger at the McIntosh. Can't go wrong.
Food was disappointing. We had the gnudi, which the pasta was good but the honey tomatoes over powered the dish. The burrata was bland and the taste combination didn't work. We then split the deckle and the steak was good but the accompaniments were underwhelming.
Wonderful! We recommend choosing to have the chefs send their choices to the table. You won’t be disappointed. They even handled allergies and food aversions well, explained every dish and it’s content. Can’t wait to go back!
It was our first visit to Charleston and with so many great dining options, we dined at Macintosh on the recommendation of our waiter (a local) from the previous evening. What an exceptional experience. The staff was polite, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about everything on the menu (both drinks and food). There were so many delectable items to choose from, my wife and I took the recommendation of our waiter (Max - great guy), splitting two starters (heirloom tomatoes and zucchini, one entree (swordfish) and one side ("mac" potatoes). All the ingredients were fresh and the food was prepared to perfection, with subtle, balanced flavors that made for a truly one of a kind dining experience. The chefs were even thoughtful enough to split our entree evenly on two beautifully prepared plates. I've had many very good dining experiences, but this one ranks up there as one of the best. The "mac" potatoes alone are worth the trip. We finished with the acclaimed "mac" toast (the bone marrow pudding dessert), which lived up to the hype. I would highly recommend Macintosh to everyone. You will not be disappointed.
Outstanding brunch as always!!
The food was delicious, cooked just right and came out in a timely manner. The service was right on point and both myself and my kids were treated like royalty. The Macintosh never disappoints.
Snuck in for brunch (good tip for those hard to book restaurants). Macintosh is full of amazing artery-clogging goodness, as evidenced by the eye roll from my neighbor as he chomped into his burger with bone marrow. I tried the flavorful veggie hash (potatoes, squash, carrots, onions, fontina cheese) and a toasted slice of pistachio- lemon- blackberry cake with honey butter. Excellent layers of flavors and textures. Nice to see veggie options well treated.
The drinks were fantastic.
Shushito peppers delicious, wreckfish spectacular, and the blackeberry dessert was out of this world! Great bourbon selection at the bar, BUT NO BIG ICE CUBES OR SPHERES...........
Was told they didn t have “normal” fries
So had to order garlic truffle fries. Nextntonis somebody got a slider with normal fries! M Weird
Ordered the slider to het the normal fries
My boyfriend and I ate at The Macintosh while on vacation in Charleston. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was nice. The only complaint my boyfriend (who is a picky eater) had was it was too dimly lit to really see well.
We had the deckle and for gnudi, which was both amazing. The serving size is smaller than what we expected but it was enough to get you full.
We will definitely go back the next time we’re back in town.
The food was good but ridiculously small portions for the price. Hence I really can’t recommend it.
Very good place. Food is excellent and the service is very good. The bartender was a little unfriendly and seems to enjoy drama, but she was an expection to a good experience.
Local ingredients and creative menu that has both entrees and small plates. Very nice atmosphere right on King Street in the heart of lots of shopping, bars, and restaurants. Servers are very friendly and the food comes quick. By the time we were done the place was seemingly converting into what seemed like a popular night spot. Highly recommend for just about any occasion.
Great drink. Great food. Great service!
we are regulars and for some reason this sundays brunch was just not up to the standards that we have become accustomed to. we did notice new shift managers and believe this could be it. we will give it a little time and see if it works itself out.
The food exceeded our expectations! All of the dishes were incredible. Don’t miss the Mac potatoes! Our server Laura was so great. She was attentive, kind, and fun to converse with. This place is such a gem!
Amazing! Food was delicious. The portions were small but we every bite was tasty. If they have the duck and octopus on the menu, I highly recommend you try that.
This is an excellent place for fusion eaters. I like specific direct food. I was hungry 2 hours afterward.
Great evening. Very accommodating hostess and wonderful waiter. He knew the menu and had great recommendations.
Amazing, one of our best food experiences ever. Amazing staff
Just incredible experience and the service was outstanding. Our server, Mary Catherine, was just fantastic. Friendly and knowledgeable, she guided us through the menu by asking what our likes and dislikes were. My wife is lactose intolerant and Mary Catherine had ideas, alternatives that would work and was there to answer any questions. We dine out frequently and I can't remember a time when we enjoyed service, food and fun this much. Truly a memorable birthday for my wife
We were promptly seated upon arrival about 15 minutes early. Service was excellent. Nice beer selection. We went for the burger and were not disappointed.
Amazing food and service and the atmosphere was stellar. We would definitely return, especially for the peach bread and Mac Attack.
Best brunch menu ever!!! Very unique and not typical!! Excellent!!
I have been to Macintosh several time in the past. We had not been back in 4 years, and as we were vacationing in Charleston, we could not miss it. Went to a 5 PM early dinner. Place is beautiful. Service is impeccable. Cocktails were great, wine list was kind of expensive, but we knew Macintosh is on the more expensive side. We had 3 appetizers (rudderfish, scallops and octopus). Octopus and the scallops were OK, the vegetable in the both dishes were spectacular, the protein OK. The rudderfish was impressive.
The worst (in our opinion) was the main course. It was a whole red snapper ( if I am not mistaken, or similar), whole fish fried, then kept in the oven. The fish was served over collard greens. I think the dish was the result of people watching too much of Chef's table and trying to come out with all kinds of abnormal recipe. Why fry the fish and then destroy all the crispness with watery collard greens? Why add bacon to fried fish? Why not salt the fish prior to frying it? Why not stew it? They basically destroyed a spectacular fish.
We did not even want to try their desserts. I hope this review will help their chef. Amazing but simple rather than complicated but poor.
Food, service and drinks were excellent.
After many visits to Macintosh, taking many visitors to Charleston there and recommending on Trip Advisor over and over, at this point in time I can't honestly recommend Macintosh if you are going to spend that kind of money. It's as if they are cutting corners and nickel and dimeing you to death...charge for bread and it's burned, I'm sorry. Grains, pasta and potatoes have been cut from the meals, but you can buy them on the side, I don't think so. Server who talks too much, ugh. Unless something drastically changes, this local won't be back any time soon.
First time at Macintosh and we will definitely be back. Overall just a great dining experience from the service to the delicious food! I loved the casual atmosphere too- no white tablecloths and the dress code is smart casual with men wearing shorts in the summer. Not overpriced either.
The food was good, but interesting portions. We had our own 2 person table with a long booth on one side and it felt like the tables on either side of us could hear our conversation as we could hear their's because the tables were so close together.
The level of service was outstanding. Even though our reservation was for the time the kitchen was to close, they went out of their way to host us and not have us feel rushed.
great server, amazing food, artistic cocktails. went for 1st anniversary and will always remember! definitely recommend☺️ (got the duck breast and the witches cocktail)
Great meal with outstanding service. Started with the stuffed squash blossoms then the scallops for
My spouse and I had the grouper. Followed dinner with a fresh berry and peach crisp. Outstanding meal.
Food was excellent & server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options.
From when we walked in the door until we left it was absolutely amazing! Caven was our server and was wonderful, the food was spectacular, and the ambiance was perfect for a quiet birthday dinner! I will most definitely be coming back more often!
