Absolutely fabulous food, service and atmosphere! I have eaten at many Charleston restaurants and I have to say Macintosh is one of the very best.
Excellent Service; great variety on the menu. Nice casual atmosphere.
The food was great. Interesting pairings that worked great together. Exactly what we were looking for in a special dinner experience with friends.
We love Macintosh, we had the chef's table and loved the food service and wine choices. Especially
enjoyed the snow crab gundi, and bone marrow starters, exceptional. We'll be back soon
As always, the food was incredible. We received top-notch treatment from our server, Kevin.
Best burger ever!!
Food was excellent! Server had great recommendations. Spent more than I expected, but was worth it.
Limited menu for brunch, but good food and choices for all palates. Kinda funky neighborhood feel. Not a huge fan of the pre-made Mimosas, however.
Excellent. Food was fantastic and our server was very knowledgeable. I would go back again next time we are in the area.
One of the best meals ever. Loved it
Vibrant ambiance, excellent food and active social scene. We had the Gnudi with braised rabbit and it was excellent. Also had a burger which was very good.
Incredible food offerings with a daily changing menu. Our server Ryan made the entire experience. Great demeanor and provided great insight into the various offerings. Timing on drinks and food delivery could be tightened up but it was rather busy that evening.
Greeting from Billy was most welcoming.
Table service was sporadic and not focused although was well trained, observant and responsive.
Food was superb although at least 20& overpriced. Noise level was awful and made normal conversation difficult. I never really understood whom we were tipping because of the sheer number of servers we encountered,
Loved the food!
Burger out of this world
The signature dish Bone marrow bread pudding was delicious
One of the best restaurants in Charleston, The Macintosh consistently provides excellent food and service to match. During our recent visit on a busy Thursday, we had to wait a little longer than normal for a burger. Not a problem for us, as we had ordered multiple appetizers that came out perfectly timed, but both the FOH Manager and our server handled the issue extremely well. Our burger was taken off our bill without us even asking.
The food is always impeccable, and highly recommend the burger, gnocchi, and scallops. Wonderful meal, every time.
This was our first visit to Charleston and we had some outstanding food and dining experience. Macintosh, on our last night, did not disappoint! The food is extremely fresh and creative. The setting has a great vibe and the service was lovely: attentive without hovering. The food concept—very high standards and menu that is always changing to ensure it—made the menu seem limited at first but once our waiter gave us more detail on each dish it was extremely hard to choose! We can’t wait to be in Charleston again and Macintosh is on top of the list of places we will go again.
Absolutely blown away by the experience we had at The Macintosh where the staff went above and beyond and made our experience a memorable one. The waiter was thoughtful enough to ask about dietary restrictions from the start. The coffee was fresh and hot and our cups were kept full. Exceptional professionalism and a true dining experience in a laid-back atmosphere. We went for brunch but will be back for many more meals, I'm sure!
Food looked and tasted good. Some innovative touches. Great service, but I don’t need a hip hop soundtrack with my breakfast.
While we loved the ambience & service, the food was not up to our expectations. Very small menu and one of us was extremely disappointed. But management was concerned & comp'ed that meal & gave us dessert, which was very good.
Decided to come here after seeing great reviews and it definitely didn’t disappoint! We ordered two burgers which were delicious! The truffle fries that it came with were AMAZING, some of the best I’ve ever had! We surprisingly weren’t blown away by the bone marrow bread pudding like everyone else in the reviews, but glad we tried it. Also highly recommend the chocolate peanut butter lays chip dessert, it was incredible! The perfect amount of salty and sweet and great size to share for 2! We’ll definitely be coming back!
The MacIntosh is hands down my favorite restaurant in Charleston, and this is from someone who has lived in Charleston my entire life. As always, the food was exceptional during my last visit and the service was even better. I absolutely love this restaurant and I’m always looking forward to the next time.
Had a great brunch on Sunday April 17th, would definitely recommend reservations as it does get full.
I love this place! However, I was very disappointed with my meal. It was very bland. And I think it’s insane to pay for bread. And to only receive 4 pieces. We had about 10 different servers throughout the meal.
We were in town from Chicago (where we eat out often). Had heard good things, but this place is completely overrated and overpriced. Wasn’t super busy but the food took a long time. We shared a lot of small plates and two burgers. The burgers were the best thing we ate, everything else was meh. The kicker was an after dinner drink with expresso that I showed interest in but I’m caffeine sensitive so I told the waiter I couldn’t do it. He assured me they could make it with decafe expresso. I still said no because I didn’t want to take any chances but he was really insistent that it was a great drink and I’d love it so I got it. It was definitely delicious but.....I was unable to sleep that night. It was the first night of our four days in Charleston, really upsetting. We walked two miles back to our hotel, we’d been up early traveling, so I was tired and should’ve fallen right asleep. I knew within ten minutes of leaving the restaurant that the drink had real expresso in it. I messaged the business the next day and here I am, the morning of our departure and have heard nothing from them. We will never return and I will leave the same review on yelp and TripAdvisor where I am a senior contributor. I was in the restaurant and hospitality business for more than a decade in NY and Chicago, I know sometimes bartenders don’t want to deviate from their recipes. The waiter should not have guaranteed that decafe would be used or he just should not have given me the drink, period. We spent a good deal of money in that restaurant and it screwed up my second day of our trip. We are frequent travelers to Charleston, this was truly an awful experience.
Everything was terrific. We had out of town guests that had never been to Macintosh and they loved it. The deckle was really good. Kinda pricey for the portion of meat but good.
A great brunch spot. Good value with fun people. I have been there for dinner before and was equally pleased.
It was the best meal we had during our trip to Charleston. The Mac Attack (their take on eggs benedict, over a grilled piece of bone marrow toast) was really out of this world.
Super service and attention from the kitchen was a nice add on.
Excellent food, cocktails, service and ambience !!
Zach was a great server- knew the menu inside and out
Food and Service were on par with what is to be expected in Charleston, certainly good - but nothing really stood out. For me there are better options for this price range abundantly on the peninsula. Deal breaker saw being sat on an outside patio with lawn furtiture (faux wicker) amongst a private party of 25+ people. Very awkward and certainly should have been mentioned when booking online.
The best burger in town!! And the Truffle fries the best ever!
My friends and I had a wonderful experience! Service was amazing and food was great! We will definitely be back.
This is always a great treat and the service was super as well.
The Macintosh has been my favorite restaurant for several years now. The food and service is always outstanding. I highly recommend!
Great service in down town Charleston, waiter was exceptional!
They accommodated us last minute on New Year's Eve & we certainly appreciated that. The food was good and the ambiance great. Service was good, however the portions small. Overall Good but nothing makes me want to return.
Poutine and the MacAttack, brunch here was the food highlight of our visit!!!
