Attended the Lounge for afternoon tea. Stunning surroundings but very dissapointed with the food and service.
We waited for at least 5 minutes at the front desk to be seated for our reservation while two guys working the desk were hopelessly confused about where food was going. That should have been the clue to run!! Eventually we were seated. Menus and an explanation of how they do tea came eventually. We ordered. The tea arrived and they didn't know which tea was which so they guessed - wrong. Eventually the sandwiches came without any description. We didn't know what we were eating. We finished and the pastries never came. The waiters completely disappeared and a new crew arrived. An hour later we were able to pry the pastries from them. Remember, this was a tea so the pastries we prepared in advance and were just sitting somewhere. The food was good and they offered to cut the bill in half. But for God sake, close the place down and send them out for training!
Service was so slow
Arrived early to find table was reserved for us,but it still took 20 minutes for them to come and take our order, l booked champagne afternoon tea.
After bringing our champagne and sandwiches it took them another hour for them to come and ask if all was ok, and would be like our cakes.
Overall l wasn’t too keen on the sandwiches the mince tarts were very nice also the scones.
Lovely afternoon tea, very helpful and friendly staff.
Service was slow and not very much attention to the guest. Room had air conditioning too low (weather was very cold that day) it felt too chilly. Hadto keep my coat on.
The service in Bulgari Hotel is not up to a 5-star hotel. The waiter seemed busy and kept customers waiting (no matter for guiding you to the table, taking order....) I just had a tea and dessert there, food is just fair, nothing special.
It has been a very quiet afternoon with only 2 table in the lounge by the bar. Service team has been chatting, laughing and they were more loud than the table next to us. While food offer was good, ambience lovely we have to ask to order, for the next course. Once prompted everything was done however the supervisor on duty was not very attentive. We felt in the such place the service was a little of a let down. However to mention the lady who greeted us was very nice and attentive however she looked after the front area of the lounge.
Afternoon birthday tea
Afternoon Tea was marvelous. The service was excellent and the ambiance magnificent.
My husband and I went to the lounge at the bulgari hotel for afternoon tea. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the ambience was warm and welcoming.
Cozy and quiet places. Time seemed to move slowly and relaxed.
Was here for mum's birthday.
Overall ok it's more like a modern lounge where the afternoon tea was served, I'm a Pastry chef so honestly I think the desserts were under my expectations.
We had a table in the foyer for afternoon tea. The service was slow but they were very polite and friendly. When we ordered we specifically stated we wanted vegetarian sandwiches for one guest which didn't happen when chased they arrived after everybody had finished so wasn't the greatest. Sandwiches were a little dry on the outside but over all it was a reasonably nice afternoon tea.
Took American friend to enjoy traditional UK afternoon tea. Cakes were amazing.
Had the champagne afternoon tea. Very nice ambience. Pastries were exquisite and good selection of sandwiches.
The afternoon tea itself was great. Plenty of sandwiches, scones warm and unique pastries. However the girl was alone and therefore was not really able to check upon us. We basically had to ask for everything.
The Lounge had a real ambience and was perfect for a relaxing afternoon tea combined with a very intimate service .
Lovely to stop in for tea if you are in the area, especially if you want a more modern setting.
Lovely hotel, great service and wonderful afternoon tea.
Three friends getting together with a glass of champagne and lots to talk about, couldn't find a nicer place to chill and enjoy afternoon tea!
Everything was excellent and throughly enjoyed and recommend.
So nice two of us retired to the bar for some wine before heading home.
A very very enjoyable afternoon!
I went with my mother for The classic afternoon tea and it was absolutely amazing. The finger sandwiches were very tasteful and the scones and the clotted cream too. The staff was very kind and they always asked us if we want to refill anything. The environment was very nice but it was a little bit dark.
Everything is "almost" perfect. Delightful service, perfect afternoon tea, however prices are high.... But you get what you pay for.....
A very nice afternoon tea in a very slick hotel. I've been here 3 times and always enjoy the whole experience. The staff are very helpful and natural, the food is great. Yes it is a little pricey but we are in London. I recommend this afternoon tea.
This was a treat for us during our summer holiday in London. We wanted our daughters to experience high tea in London. The service was impeccable with an attentive server that was not overbearing. The tea set was both delicate and devine. It was also a great value as they would replenish anything that you particularly liked. The four of us could not even finish the two tea sets we ordered to share. My girls loved the hot chocolate from Alain Ducasse. My only disappointment was that the lounge was a bit too close to the front door. Although the decor was tastefully done, I would have imagined that the lounge for a Bvlgari Hotel to be a bit more impressive.
Wonderful service at the Bulgari Hotel ..attentive staff and very generous with portions. Everything was perfect!
Lovely afternoon tea for my mothers birthday, staff were very attentive and the tea was very tasty. Beautiful hotel and very relaxing in the lounge area, with a lovely ambience , We enjoyed it very much.
We opted for the chocolate afternoon tea which had a lovely selection but was too sweet. i think the traditional option would have been better. We were sat on what looked like comfortable big sofa's which isn't comfortable to eat on for that length of time. Expect a back ache after. The ambience was ok but its just a hotel lobby. But the fire place and decor make up for that. The sandwich selection was lovely and as were the sweets & savoury tartlets. Even though they seem quite attentive and bring you extras. I wasn't impressed that i had to request for more tea which should be part of the service. This was also my first afternoon tea where i had to pour my own tea. The hotel looks very clean but i didn't get to the scones as there was a couple of flies circulating and landed on them.
Personally i wouldn't recommend afternoon tea here however i would say its a nice place meeting point for a quick drink.
Food was good but some of the sandwiches had obviously been sitting around for a while because the bread was very dry. The service was appalling, there were 3 of us, two plates of sandwiches arrived and the third took another 8 mins to arrive!
The worst part was however the sofas, which were very comfortable for reclining on but incredibly uncomfortable for eating tea on.
There are much better places to have afternoon tea...
The tea was delicious and the selection of sandwiches and cakes was also really good. We were sat in the lounge area so it was nice and relaxed even though it still felt very formal and high class.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere very calming with ambient music. The chairs and sofas are very comfortable and the crockery modern yet elegant. The chocolate and caramel tea is one of the nicest read I have ever tasted. The waiting staff however were slightly incompetent. They were very attentive and forgot things like milk. Overall however a very enjoyable afternoon.
Amazing staff who were extremely helpful, great selections of dishes on the menu along with tasteful afternoon tea, the whole atmosphere, food and great customer service adds towards my experience at Bulgari. This I would definatly recommend.
Lovely savoury tarts but scones were not baked properly. Staff were friendly and helpful - the manager gave us a small box of chocolates to compensate for the scones. Relaxed atmosphere and location.
Most basic of afternoons teas i have ever had for the calibre of the hotel. Not good value for money. First seated in hotel foyer and i asked to be moved! 2/10.
We were very excited about this place but it was a let down. The tea is served in the lobby but we facing the wall which was weird. The scones were ok but the sandwiches were dry. The service was awful and not very professional, even the manager came round to ask if we all right while we were waiting for the waiter. Afterwards We did tell the manager about the service and the dry sandwiches and he agreed. The place is very elegant not sure if the lobby is the best place for an afternoon tea and they need to work on their service.
This hotel is a haven from the hustle and bustle of Knightsbridge. Booked afternoon tea to celebrate my wife's birthday, from the moment we arrived we were looked after to the very highest standard, our waitress couldn't be more courteous and obliging and our food was exactly to the standard of what a hotel of this class should provide. Stunning setting, excellent food, perfect service throughout and a memorable experience from beginning to end. Would thoroughly recommend and we will be returning soon.
We arrived and were shown to the bar area comfy chairs very relaxed atmosphere.we went for the afternoon tea with prosseco sandwiches and quiche freshly made we had extra quiche as they were so tasty very good choice of teas / pastries were lovely could not eat them all asked for a box to take away not a problem will definitely be back
It's in the lobby, not very prestigious for that price
The place is very stark, with modern comfy, but low seats. Not ideal for elderly parents. Went for afternoon tea, and whiles a good choose of teas it came in tea bags in the pot! Even though they supplied strainers for real tea leafs. The tea was brought tepid and we had to ask for a hot pot, twice. The food was excellent, with nice fresh sandwiches, scones, and cakes. Overall service was good if you exclude, tea bags and cold tea. Would We go again! No. Not worth the money nor my time.
Such a nice treat to visit The Bulgari for a delightful and delicious pink bubbles afternoon tea. We were well looked after by Metodi - the perfect waiter! And loved it so much that we stayed on to pay their cocktail bar an additional visit to see the magical excellent mixologist at work by name of Yoann. Merci beaucoup !
Plus an enormous thank you to Ali of Auchentoshan Three Wood whisky for the excellent recommendation when I met him doing Christmas shopping at Harvey Nichols Food Hall carrying my special bottle of Bowmore!
The Bulgari is more than wonderful than the Winter Wonderland ... and it made it a good stopping point for a rest from the big dipper!
sorry we booked this at the last minute and I am afraid it was not that good. We arrived the hotel was superb and the lounge where the afternoon tea was held was very cosy and comfortable. The décor was superb, unfortunately they were busy we had to wait a while, staff were very nice, when the tea came it was a limited amount of sandwiches and when we asked for a second cup of tea after a wait we were told that we could have it complimentary for waiting!!!! Cakes and pastries were lovely, too many but on the whole it does not compare with other venues who serve afternoon tea - quite disappointed as it was expensive but very ordinary!
