The Loft at Meadow Gardens Ratings and Reviews
I had made a reservation through "opentable", but the hostess had no knowledge of it. She said it would be better to phone them because they aren't near a computer to acknowledge the online reservations.
I ordered a glass of wine that came in a disgusting smelling wine glass, which had to be returned.
The waitress seemed inconvenienced by us guests in the dining room. There were private members in another room that were perhaps keeping her busy. The seafood linguine was very good, as was the Caesar salad. For the venue and the price of the food, I was disappointed with the dining experience and service.
Just in case others aren't aware (as we weren't) this is a golf club. The restaurant is very small and when entering the building you wouldn't know for sure it's there as there is no signage on the front outside.
It is very pricey for very mediocre food. The service was ok. There is a buffet with salad and pasta choices at $22.00 a plate. Good if you are a big eater I guess. We won't be going back.
We had an excellent waitress who was quite happy to move us out to the deck to have our dessert and coffee. We were seated next to a large crowd who were meeting to celebrate a birthday and we just wanted to have a quiet chat. We appreciated the extra attention she gave us. One of the reasons we like the Loft is that at lunch it is not super noisy so you can talk and not have to compete with TV screens and loud music.
We stumbled upon The Loft at Meadow Gardens as a result of an email recommendation from OpenTable. We were looking for a local breakfast/brunch spot, which offered a menu with variety - The Loft delivered!
I had a beef dip while he had traditional breakfast. Both dishes were delicious, made to order, ready in a decent amount of time and clearly made by someone who takes pride in their work.
The dining room is similar to that you'd find at any local golf course - may be an interesting spot to grab a drink after a round given the bar and piano on site. As we were there early in the day, there were only two other tables - a casual Sunday morning day time vibe.
The service was excellent - our server was friendly, engaging, polite, warm and obviously cared about her guests wellbeing.
We'll be back for sure!
We were supposed to be going to the Loft for my birthday dinner as it was Prime Rib buffet night and we have had positive experiences in the past dining here. My parents got there before we did, only to find the gate closed across the drive. We ended up finding somewhere else to eat but there was no text, email or phone call cancelling the reservation. Not the way I had intended my birthday to go.
My husband and I had dinner here on New Years Eve, Dec 31, 2016. It was warm and inviting. So much to choose from : prime rib dinner $29.95 p.p. ; special New Years Eve 4 course menu, $95.00 for two; and then the regular dinner menu. There were two weddings at the club that night and so the kitchen must have been very busy. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the food was fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Will be back to try the Prime rib Sunday buffet, sometime in the New Year.
My family and I are regulars, mostly for breakfast and lunch on the weekends, and we have always had a good experience. I decided to join a friend there for lunch on Sunday and was embarrassed and disappointed. Service was slow - my friend was there before me and got coffee right away. I waited 15 minutes before anyone even came to the table. When we finally got our order in and were served the food was cold for both of us so we had to send it back. Second time around it came out fine but this was 50 minutes after I first sat down (we ordered breakfast items so it should have been relatively quick prep time). It was the Sunday brunch but they had that area staffed and the main restaurant was maybe 3/4 full with three wait staff. I have no idea what was up that day but will think twice before I take anyone there again and may look for another location for our family meet ups. I will also add that they staff could not find the reservation I had made...
It was my wife's birthday and the family went out for diner at the Loft. Got a great weekend table over looking the golf course and coastal mountains. Service was prompt and very helpful. Appies and meal were excellent. My wife even got a surprise birthday cake. Good experience and will definitely return soon.
Pictures looked good so I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately it was super bad. Service was non-existent. We had to go to the buffet because no one would serve us. I had to go to the kitchen to pay because they couldn't even be bothered to walk to our table. Food was prison food. Really gross. Views are blocked by trees. Super bad!
Went for Sunday buffet dinner. First impression - Loved the view. It was peaceful, serene and most pleasant. It was not a busy Sunday dinner and so not loud and noisy.
Service was pleasant and attentive. Professional.
Food was ok, flavourful but was beginning to dry out eventhough we started our dinner at 6.30. I think it would have helped if there were more diners which would have increased the food turnover.
Overall a pleasant dining experience.
We were recommended The Loft by a friend who had been there for the Valentines Special and as our friends lived in Maple Ridge and we lived in Port Coquitlam we thought it would be a good half way point.
Eric the server was excellent, very pleasant and even enjoyed some banter with my husband and our friend. The overall ambience was great and the selection on the menu seemed good.
My husband and I ordered the Lamb shank and the Chicken with mash and seasonal veg. When the meal came out we were shocked that 3 stems of brocolli were classed as seasonal veg! We kept waiting for the dish of veg to be brought out! The food was very well cooked but for the price we were very disappointed.
Then we ordered puddings which can only be described as extremely over priced for a ramekin dish of stewed apple with Alpen cereal on top! I cannot believe that there is an ice cream scoop that small either!
The four of us actually left the restaurant disappointed and said for an extra $20 we could have eaten at the Keg instead and come away feeling full.
All we can imagine is that the special events are far better value for money! Overall very disappointed and would not return
