Unexpectedly great meal in a pleasant and classy spot. We had a grilled scallops special that was simply outstanding.
The Lodge is one of our favorite dining spots in all of Truckee. The food is consistently excellent and the menu just broad enough that we can always find something we like. The staff has always been great.
Our server, Michael, did an excellent job taking our order and checking on us throughout our meal. My wife's wedge salad was very good. I enjoyed my meatball sliders and very tasty dumpling appetizer. The hit of the meal was the Blueberry Buckle dessert!!
Everyone enjoyed our meal. The caprese was excellent and the cocomijo was refreshing. My daughter ordered the grilled chicken breast and would have it again. The kids missed the wiki stix that the staff used to hand out. My fish of the day was delicious and my husband's fish taco was delicious as well...although it was more of a fish burrito ;)
What a great experience at this restaurant! Our server was amazing, the food was incredible, great wine but the best part was the kids menu. It is so refreshing to go to a restaurant and have something other than chicken strips and burgers for the kids to choose from. My 8 and 10 year old ordered the fresh catch from the kids menu and raved the whole time! I was happy to pay a reasonable $13 for a nice piece of salmon and a fresh, tasty meal for my kids. The outdoor seating is beautiful. Our whole family can't wait to go back!
GREAT EVENING—PERFECT SEVICE—-SALMON FISH SPECIAL WAS DELICIOUS—VERY WARM AND INVITING DINING ROOM—UNFORTUNATELY, THE UGLY WHITE TENT CONTINUES IN PLACE,BLOCKING A OTHERWISE GORGEOUS VIEW OF THE GOLF COURSE AND MOUNTAIN/FOREST——J
One of the best dinners I have ever had. My wife and I were celebrating 34 years of marriage. Great service and scenery. The no corkage fee Tuesday was an added bonus.
Great welcome there always: we always appreciate the ambience and conversation with interesting staff. The chef is to be commended for unique food that allows our gluten-free diet needs to be met.
Table on the deck was ready when we arrived. Servers were very polite and friendly. Food was excellent and matched the service. Price was appropriate for Truckee
Short wait for outside table and staff was excellent.
Excellent dinner. The Canadian salmon was superb!
We had a wonderful al fresco dining experience. No wedding music 😊
Not a good outing. Service was poor. The food quality continues to decline.
The Lodge is always a great experience. Excellent food, attentive service, and incredible ambiance. It’s why we keep coming back (and very happy they are on OpenTable, so convenient!).
Wonderful, park venue over golf course, sunset , amazing food, good value, and wonderful service.
The wedding got a bit loud at
Wonderful food and great service as usual.
Great for lunch, dinner, and special occasion!
Food was super! Service amazing!
Having lunch at The Lodge is always a special treat!
Our waitress (Terry) was wonderful and knew her business.
Always a favorite. Chris is a great server.
This was our first visit to the Lodge and Pub restaurant. We enjoyed it very much. We made a reservation for the restaurant but upon arriving early for a drink, we decided to sit on the deck instead. Our waitress was new (3-4 days only) and she was great! Fun personality, good sense of humor and very friendly.
We started with Calamari as an appetizer and enjoyed it. My husband had the Meatloaf entree and I had the special Spicy pasta. Both entrees were hearty servings and very tasty. We will definitely go back when we're at Tahoe Donner.
Very good food and great view. A disengaged main server, she was disinterested in her job that night and supposed to be training someone, (the trainee was much better). She was short with us and when we waffled about order decisions she just walked away without a word. If I was not with a customer I would have to the manager and said something. Either come to work to work or stay home. But good enough food and view to return.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants!! Staff are friendly, food is fresh & tasty & the wine options are great. Check the manager’s selections sheet...it’s worth it. Peter is a gem of a person. Immediately likable, gives great suggestions & is a certified sommelier.
Chef is amazing & has a nut allergy, so one of few places I don’t need to take my epipen.
They hosted our rehearsal dinner & we couldn’t have asked for a better place.
Had a great dinner at the Lodge. We were there on a weeknight so it was very quiet, which is just what we wanted. I'm sure it would fill up more other nights of the week. The dinner and dessert were great and the service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend!
The special fish (halibut) was over cooked. The special pasta was not so special. I didn’t finish my plate (unusual!). Ambience OK but a very loud crowd seated near us made it hard to have a conversation. Wait staff very attentive and personable. Disappointing, as the experience here had been better on our last visit. Not rushing to return.
We have dined many times in the Lodge and the food, service and overall atmosphere has never deviated from being very good - excellent. It is a very nice restaurant that has class but is comfortable.
We enjoy the “Pub” menu, small bites, and it’s just what you need after a busy day working or playing. Accompanied by a good glass of wine of course. Instead of our usual hamburger, we tried the fried calamari, Mac & cheese, and the fish taco. All were excellent. Service again was excellent even though we were casual diners. Great place
We had a nice dinner sharing a Caesar salad, filet mignon, and special pasta dish. Food was quite good and the service was very nice (present when needed, absent when appropriate).
Always excellent! Great service, food & very fun experience.
Short ribs - amazing.
We had another wonderful meal with friends. Our favorite entree is the hamburger and it was cooked perfectly with very fresh lettuce, tomatoes and onions.Service was spot on and we will return with our friends.
Not an extensive menu, but what's on it is good fare. Their Caesar salad is served with whole leaves, for eating with one's fingers - love it that way. I often select the meatloaf, which is made with a good amount of mushrooms. There's usually a fish special and a pasta special - both looked good. A good option for Truckee dining.
We always enjoy the Lodge... the evening we were there a wedding party had been moved in from the outside tent because of rain.... very loud! Staff seemed a little over run... After bread was suggested by our server, I had to ask for it again. The soup of the day was described as potato leek soup... it had potatoes and leeks in it, but the description should have been much more than it was. Traditional Potato Leek soup is a very mild soup and creamy with no meat in it. The soup that was served was very spicy with chicken, red bell peppers and I think red pepper flakes.
Took about 5 minutes for anyone to greet us. Then even though there were probably about 10 tables total being used, my husband and I were seated by the bar and an open window (it was 48 outside and raining). We sat at our table waiting for someone to come over so we could ask for another table but no one ever came over. We got up and left.
Another excellent experience at The Lodge Restaurant! We love The Lodge for a number of reasons, starting with the excellent service from the moment we walk in to the moment we exit. Staff here enjoy their work, and they want you to have the best experience possible.
The food is equal to the excellent service. Some new items on the menu are worth a try, and old favorites remain as delicious as when they were first added to the menu. Seasonal items are rotated on and off regularly, so there's always something new. The Seared Ahi and Kale Salad is a delicious, well-seasoned, beautiful dish that is light and refreshing. I tried the Turkey and Shiitake Meatloaf for the first time and with its crispy bacon wrapping, it was a hearty and indulgent dish. Save room for dessert - the black & white creme brulee is worth it, as are the house-made donuts with dipping sauces.
The views of the golf course are beautiful and provide a relaxing setting. Or, on evenings where the weather is stormy, fireside dining is a cozy delight.
Wonderful service and food!
Nice meal, good entrees, good service. One busboy kind of rude, otherwise everything great.
We had a very nice dinner and evening at The Lodge. Service was very nice. Food was very good, although this was the first time our meals weren't hot...they were served warm...which was ok ...but hot would have been better. We've eaten here many times before and this is the first time the dinners weren't hot. Would definitely come back though...
We enjoy the Lodge every time we come. The food is consistently delicious and the service is excellent. Couldn’t recommend it more.
We had a lovely experience this past week at the Lodge - we enjoyed ahi tartare, meatballs, salmon, burgers, salad, fish tacos and brownie sundaes. The ambience was perfect in the pub where we requested to sit with our 3 kids - ages 9, 7 and 4.
