The Lodge Restaurant & Pub
What a terrific experience! All four meals — halibut, halibut tacos, chicken, pasta, were fantastic! Cooked perfectly, presented beautifully. Even my dessert (shared) was amazing — three small ice cream scoops with drips of different sauces plus a cookie. The setting inside and out was lovely. Staff was quite accommodating regarding our seating. Due to a high priced meal w/low quality I had earlier in the week at a longtime and usually reliable Truckee restaurant, I wasn’t sure eating at the Lodge would be worthwhile ... but it was a wonderful dining experience all around.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Great place for dining in Truckee! Outdoor seating during the summer months is one of the best in the area.
Food was great but the waitress was slow and unhelpful
We were celebrating our 3rd anniversary and it was everything we hoped it would be. Amazing.
Always upbeat happening place
Good food , nice waiter
We love to go everytime we come to our cabin in Truckee
Service and food were excellent as usual. Only issue this time was that it was quite noisy and we were unable to speak to each other at our table. Portion size was more than adequate.
Food wasn’t too great, service was somewhat neglectful. The poke appetizer was pretty good but the halibut fish taco was dry and tasteless.
We were celebrating a birthday-had an absolutely wonderful time. We had the halibut special-our hats off to the chef-our meal was outstanding!!!
Superb food in an outstanding location. The views of the forest and golf course in the early evening are well worth the trip.
Table was ready when we arrived. Seated right away and offered beverages. Ordered Thai noodle bowl with chicken (forgot to ask for chicken on the side so we could see how much there was) Very disappointed with the minimal amount of chicken for the price charged. Wait staff was very attentive.
This restaurant setting is one of the best. With deck seating right off the golf course putting green surrounded by tall redwoods, can't beat it. Food wine and service was excellent if there is a drawback, the main courses were limited and a bit pricy.
Great! Love the food and our server’s are always fabulous! Special thanks to the bartender that makes a fabulous pineapple jalapeño margarita... as a special request by me. Came back 2 Saturday’s in a row to get that margarita!
This was a dinner with my family for my wife’s birthday, which I noted when I made the reservation and also after we were seated. Despite this, there was no acknowledgement from the waiter/staff about the birthday. I am extremely disappointed. The quality of the food seems to have declined, the prices have gone up, and customer service is non existent. This used to be our favorite place in Truckee to go out for a family dinner, but I will not be back.
Food was bland; chicken thighs were tough. We had to wait at least 5 min at the hostess area to be acknowledged. When we finally were, we waited another 5 for our table to be ready. The basil gimlet was not enjoyable at all. Our server was pleasant.
We are regulars at The Lodge and we've never had a bad dining experience. The menu is seasonal and there are always dishes featuring local ingredients. Service is consistently excellent. The servers enjoy working there and they work hard to ensure your experience is perfect. The ambiance is mountain casual and whether you're dining on the outside deck or inside by the fireplace, it feels cozy and warm. Check the dessert menu: if doughnuts are on it, get them, they are amazing and worth every calorie.
The Lodge was the perfect spot for our girl's day out! The service was outstanding including the server kindly moving our table and chairs to provide optimum shade on the deck - and taking our girl's photo. Food choices are limited, but everything we ordered was excellent. The view from the deck was spectacular and we even saw 3 deer prancing across the golf course! We will definitely go to The Lodge again and even plan to bring our husbands!
Overall an excellent meal. Entrees were very good, especially the halibut. Appetizers were fair. Service was excellent.
I would strongly suggest enforcing a dress code. This is a nice restaurant and one of the diners had on a ratty t-shirt, shorts and sandals that was not appropriate.
I love The Lodge. The food is great and it is so convenient for us. We
Another great meal at the Lodge! The caprese is always a summer fave and the fact that my kids can order salmon and veggies instead of just your typical hot dog and chicken tenders makes the lodge’s kids menu tops in my book. Peter always takes great care of us. I’m sure we will be back again soon.
My chicken dish was amazing. The service was a bit amateurish. The wine menu was somewhat inaccurate. The French Pinot Noir from Burgandy (sic) turned out to be from Pays d’Oc although the bottle mentioned Burgundy.
Like Lodge a lot.
The dinner menu is a bit limited but good.
We had a great meal! It was a lively ambiance—-families, couples. Our waitress, Ally, was terrific. She was very attentive to all of her tables. She was personable and efficient. You’ve got a treasure in her.
A birthday Celebration on the deck. Good food, wine and company with a complimentary dessert and candle to in the evening.
We are regular customers at the Lodge, and have never been disappointed. The vegetarian pot stickers were delicious, as was the roasted cauliflower appetizer. We sat on the deck on a lovely evening.
I would cautiously recommend The Lodge to a friend. The meal itself was excellent. We shared a salad with green goddess dressing and a beautifully prepared rib eye however, once we were seated it was difficult to get anyone’s attention. It appears the waitress inherited our table along with another table and she was stretched pretty thin. Once she began to help us, she was super however, because she was so busy, the delayed service did dampen the overall experience.
Had Several of my grown kids here In town. . Had a wonderful dinner tho service a little crazy - busy weekend. Very fun and enjoyed. All was delish except my Thai bowl special which was dreadful - basically dry shredded chicken. Otherwise the food is always consistently good. Will figure they were wildly busy but we go often and enjoy it.
Good food, beautiful scenery, pleasant server, reasonably priced. What more could anyone want?
Over over priced for average food. Waitress spilled red wine on our guest and did nothing about it.
We are always pleased dining at the lodge.
Great happy hour specials and superb service.
Entrees are amazing. Small plates delicious!
We spend a fair amount of time in Truckee in the summers, we always go to The Lodge for dinner a few times each summer. It never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious. The service is always excellent. When the weather is cooperative the outdoor seating is lovely. We have a family member who is Gluten Free and they have several entrees to choose from. I highly recommend.
Lovely dinner with my husband... Staff is friendly, dinner was excellent, atmosphere amazing.
We love the Lodge
Only negative is looking out the window at a huge tent.
Absolutely love The Lodge, their employees, the food, the ambiance.
Although pricey, dinner at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub in Tahoe Donner was more than 5/5 stars excellent! The service was superb, the food was catered to our diners' needs, and the overall experience was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in years. We had one diner with food limitations, and the waiter and chef were accommodating and polite, making a special meal that was off the charts delicious. Then, they did it again with dessert, accommodating a dietary restriction and serving a dessert that knocked it out of the ball park. This meal and experience was one of those that we will remember going forward and judge other experiences by The Lodge setting the bar high!! I admit the cost was a bit high, but it was delicious, so worth it!! Keep up the great effort Lodge!
Great service. We loved the calamari and octopus appetizers.
Doughnuts holes for desert where awesome.
We always love this place, The food is always consistent, fairly priced and it varies from month to month. They usually have a few dishes that are always their staple. The wine list is good and value priced. The service is always friendly and efficient. I have been there maybe 20 times and we always return, especially in the winter.
The new menu and flavors fall short of last year's. The service and friendliness of the staff, however, remain great. I will guess with feedback the menu and flavors will get to where we, as regular diners, expect.
Outstanding as always!!!
Blackened salmon was special and superb!!!
There for free corkage Tuesday, a great value and fun!!!
New menu items continue to please the palette. Enjoyed the Maine Diver Spicy Scallop Roll!
