The Local House
Very nice love there place I recommend
Place needs updating. The Server & the service was Horrible. Don’t go here.
BobbyM, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit and that you experienced less than friendly service. I would highly appreciate if you could provide a few more details on your visit so that I could look into these matters promptly and rectify accordingly. I can assure you that our staff and their amiability are amongst the top reasons Locals love us. I hope you give us another chance to show you an exceptional dine!
Was excellent, will come again soon
Thank you for the 5-star rating! We can't wait to see you again.
I LOVED everything about this place. It was adorable location-wise, the drinks were so good. This location participated in Miami Spice and its a very good deal. I got the lobster Mac and cheese and it’s probably one of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten. My sister got the lobster roll which was also phenomenal. Both had tons of flavor, tons of lobster, very unique. I will definitely be coming back here.
In a word, overpriced. I know this is Miami and restaurants are typically very expensive, but this was surprising even by those standards. My seafood pasta dish was less impressive than something I could have thrown together at home. The fried chicken was good, but that was the only dish any of the four of us liked.
I tried the Miami Spice lunch menu when my mom visited because we wanted a casual, light, and nice beachy meal. I've actually stayed at the Sense Beach House (the hotel in which this restaurant sits) before, and I never tire of the chill, relaxed energy this hotel exudes. The drinks were fantastic--I have a "crush" on the beautiful, bright green "kiwi crush" cocktail, and the "tropical garden" with watermelon, gin, and rosemary did not disappoint either. The seared tuna salad and key lime pie were great! I was also in love with the spicy edamame hummus (only available during happy hour) and the goat cheese croquettes. I highly recommend going for a solid lunch after a day on the beach or for happy hour; the vibe here is positively delightful!
Solid good food and great service.
Great local Miami Beach Restauramt with amazing cocktails & food... recommend sitting outside!
We ordered some Appetizers to start with, those were really good. As an entree I had the mussels and my boyfriend thr seafood pasta! Both was not very flavorable and also small portions. the lady who seated us was very unfriendly! Didn’t feel very welcomed at this place.
My wife and I loved this place. Everything about it from the portion size, service and atmosphere was fantastic!
I was there celebrating my birthday having brunch. It was an absolutely beautiful setting. I’m glad we decided to attend.
Love this place! Always here for the breakfast!! It’s always packed tho so try and get a reservation!
We ate here on a Tuesday night and it was extremely quiet with quick service. I had the salmon roast, which was good, but not great. The salmon was extremely tender, but the potatoes and carrots were undercooked. I also did not enjoy the sauce on the salmon. My partner had the Seafood pasta, which was good, but bland. The shrimp appetizer was amazing. The menu did lack a bit of variety; however, so I probably wouldn’t go back. Nice meal for a one-off, but not good enough to become a regular.
I would probably recommend going for drinks not for food.
Always great food, warm friendly service, excellent value
Such a cute spot for brunch! We sat outside and it was very enjoyable. The ambiance inside is so cute! Our waitress was so nice and accommodating. Thanks for a great brunch!
Great spot with outdoor seating. The fans and ocean breeze kept it comfortable outside even though it’s in the mid 80s today.
Nice quiet restaurant. Service was good. Small menu with Nothing special about the food or drinks.
Delicious food! Tropical Garden drink was fantastic, as was the Summer Air drink.
Thanks to Yelp, Google and Open Table I knew the food would be EXCELLENT! The truffle Mac & cheese is officially my favorite from anywhere here in Miami, still drooling. The food is extremely fresh, we were very happy with our meals.
Will be more than happy to return for Brunch!
Service was fast, easy, friendly. Our server wasn’t much of a talker but was very courteous. Was kind enough to bring us a little dessert with a birthday candle for my Mother In Law at no additional charge.
Can’t wait to come back and try the pancakes and eggs bennies!
Nothing is special here. I had a Snapper (big portion), it was ok. There are other places which offer more....
Beautiful little place great food, relaxing, great breakfast place to sit outside, very comfortable
Very close to the beach but just on a city street. Outdoor tables had roof and overhead fans and also there were couches outside.
Food was creative and well made.
Anytime I’m in Miami, we stop at The Local House. Amazing food and small space makes it such a lovely dining experience! Worth every bite (and penny)! The prices are actually much more reasonable than other restaurants on South Beach.
Great restaurant/bar in an even greater boutique hotel. Highly recommend Sense and The Local House.
Great food, good service and a pleasant ambience. We will definitely re-visit.
Relaxing atmosphere. Great food. Happy hour menu is where it’s at. The black bean burger is quite good.
The Brussels sprouts were delicious and fish tasted very fresh. Great cocktails and wine and our waiter, Urish, was attentive and efficient.
Restaurant had already ran out of a couple menu items and we got there before the dinner rush.
Nice looking restaurant and friendly staff however they seemed to be “out” of half the menu. No fried chicken, no roasted chicken, no French fries, no Chardonnay, limited appetizers, etc, etc.
They were ran out of oysters and the main course came with the appetizer at the same time
We really enjoyed our dinner. I had the lobster mac n cheese with black pasta and it was excellent. Our waiter was very busy but was attentive to us, polite, and made sure to check my allergies with the chef. I had read some reviews that said that sometimes the wait staff is a bit slow but we did not find it so; we ordered our shared Caesar salad and mains to come when they were ready in the kitchen (same style used by Legal Seafood btw) and that worked perfectly. We ate outside on their patio, which is right next to the sidewalk on Ocean Drive. This is a vibrant part of Miami Beach and while the noise level is not a problem there is a lot of activity from busy traffic to families with small children trooping by to groups of young people out to see and be seen. You can indulge your people-watching, or have your own quiet conversation at your table, or both, as you wish.
Service left a lot to be desired and the big screen TVs are so out of place. Food was good but overpriced for how simple it was.
Great place. Food and service was excellent.
Food was mediocre and the service was HORRIBLE. Some of the slowest service in Miami (for lunch on a Tuesday). Food is overpriced and under seasoned. Nice outdoor seating.
Excellent local breakfast in South Beach, huge portion and great fruit selection, eggs cooked perfectly. The service was awfully slow, but other than that, would highly recommend this for breakfast
Not at all what I expected--not a seafood restaurant at all. Nothing special.
Dear foodie4life, We are sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations and that the variety of seafood items on our menus were not to your liking. We hope you can share a few more details as to what made the experience less than special. All feedback is appreciated and is used an opportunity for improvement! Thank you!
We enjoyed our meal so much on Monday night that we returned on Tuesday. Excellent fresh fish. Oysters were divine. Great value for money.
