Can't beat the view.
The food was very good. We ordered the scallops and the New York steak. I thought the steak was a bit pricey for it to be served with fries. Overall a good spot
We were celebrating fathers day.
Hello, I’m only writing this review because I would love to return to The Lobster restaurant and hopefully they will use this as constructive criticism. Overall are dinning experience was great! My husband and myself along with our two young girls had a reservation for 3pm. We arrived at 3 and was seated promptly. LOVED THAT! My husband ordered 9oz’s of lobster which while eating realized it wasent thoroughly cooked, some parts just tasted raw. For the price that’s a No Go! I ordered the lobster enchiladas, which had good flavor just needed a little more sauce, they were on the dry side. Our girls both enjoyed their dinner. But overall everything else was great. I will give The Lobster another try just on the view alone
Made a reservation for Father's Day lunch. Food was tasty. Ambiance was awesome. Had a nice view of Santa Monica pier. Make sure to ask for a table near a window.
We arrived early for our reservation 5:25 for a 5:45 reservation and were shown to the worst table in restaurant. We asked for different seating and although the restaurant was essentially empty were told we couldn’t have another table unless we waited for our reservation time. The staff said they couldn’t do anything to help us so we went elsewhere for dinner. Needless to say, we won’t be recommending the Lobster.
Great service nice good
It was a nice evening but really wish the food was better than just okay. Loved the scenic view but the food was not worth the price. I would go back but for the view and keep it just drinks and appetizers.
For many years we have multiple diners per year and always choose the signature dish; 3 pound grilled lobster. This year, for the first time, was a dissapointing experience. The 3 pounders where big but very empty. Lobster tail was very small and thin and to pay more than 100 dollars for one lobster is not a honnest deal.
Amazing views and even better seafood, the grilled Lobster is to die for along with the king crab legs
Pretty much a tourist restaurant with lobster as their name and theme. Location is great - at the entrance of the pier - and they know it.
Fried calamari and crab cake must have been cooked in the same oil because they tasted the same. Caesar salad was terrible - think twice here - 2-1/2 lb grilled lobster was $90.00 - way way over priced versus the value.
Wish I’d read more reviews before selecting this restaurant during our only night in Santa Monica.
Unfortunately it took close to 1 hour to get out main entrees. Our waiter was very nice, but
he should have been on top of the kitchen to make sure we did not have to wait a ridiculous
amount of time. The manage came by after we requested to the waiter have hime see us about
the very late delay in our entrees. The manager told us he would check with the kitten to let us
know what happen, but never came back like he promised. He did comp our entrees.
Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone for dinner, just drinks and appetizers.
Wonderful lobster, amazing service. As expected, the lobster was expensive but for a special occasion so worth it!
Grilled lobster was amazing! Beautiful ocean view!
Was nice but the ambiance was killed by loud diners that were heavily underdressed.
Everything you’ve read about Frankie is true. Good person, better wingman.
Best grill lobster I’ve ever had. The sauce of the black pasta is also very good and is a must try.
Our waiter was great! And the food was awesome! The soup is a must!
The food was good, but it is expensive--very expensive. And our waiter could have suggested that we share given how big (and pricey--$120/lobster) each lobster was. While we enjoyed it, we had too much food and paid way too much. Great view and scene.
Went here for my Dad’s 70th Birthday. Excellent service, delicious food, and beautiful ocean views & ambiance! Loved the fried calamari & prawn appetizer, NY steak & Lobster, and Scallop entrees. Highly recommend this for a special occasion or date night.
The Lobster Roll was amazing. Very fresh, filling and tasty. I enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Jared was our server and he was friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely come back again!
Love this restaurant. Always friendly reception and service. Great waiters and delicious food.
The view is outstanding.
Fairly upscale. Decent food. Great view. Over priced. However it is the world famous location that bump her up. Can easily spend $500 for Dinner and Drinks. Happy motoring
Great food, ample portions, nice and fresh. Our server Nicki was awesome.
The squid ink shellfish pasts is one of the best things I ate on vacation. I dream of this pasta. There was so much shellfish, and the sauce was delicious but light. The noodles are homemade, and while squid ink doesn't have flavor, I feel like it adds body to the noodles. The berry cobbler that followed was also soooo sooo perfect. Delicious and also not too heavy. Just the right amount of sweetness, and two delicious scoops of vanilla ice cream on top. I will be back here the next time I'm in Santa Monica!
excellent service, good food and awesome view. Waiter was very nice and professional.
We requested to our good seat that was window side.
But our seat is no good for our family birthday dinner.
Great food and the server was great but We would have liked to know more about the lobster options.
Absolutely perfect. From the wine to the cheesecake! Shout out to Taylor our waiter!
Great place to eat if you like seafood especially lobster! Good food but service wasn’t the best! I made my reservation in advance and requested to be sat by the window so we can have a view. I completely understand that requests are never guaranteed. When I arrived one of the hosts approached me & said she would check us in...we waited for her and then she she took us to a table that I wasn’t happy with. I told her I made a request in advance but she said the window table has a wait. Since I wasn’t happy with the table I decided to go to the front desk and tell her my situation. The lady in the front said ‘it was there mistake’ and I was supposed to get the table I requested for. The restaurant was not full at all and therefore I believe it shouldn’t be a hassle taking a customer’s request. We did get switched to the window table but I hope they improve their service!
We tried several fish dishes and all were delicious. I particularly liked the tuna with crab fried rice. The variety of oysters was fantastic as well. Kudos to the new(ish) chef who improved the menu choices!
Gorgeous views. Friendly service. Great seafood. The corn lobster chowder is delish.
Host Nikki was great, got us seated after a few minutes at the bar. The bartenders were awesome, sooo thoughtful and considerate.
Always an awesome time at this restaurant and the food was delish. Another great birthday celebration !!
Honestly, the best seafood restaurant in Los Angeles. No pretense. High quality ingredients prepared simply and correctly. The view deserves it's own 5 stars.
Had a delicious dinner seated at the bar, with a gorgeous ocean and pier view. We originally made a reservation for the main restaurant but arrived early and decided to go ahead and take a high top table at the bar because of the great view. Dinner was excellent, our sever was professional and knowledgeable about both the food and wine menus and we had a great time. The game was on (but silent) in the bar area and it made for a fun and energetic atmosphere.
Tried the lobster americana for the first time - already shelled and served over lobster mash. The sauce was devine and no messy hands to clean afterwards! The lobster was not overdone, as is common with the already shelled dishes.
I also tried dessert this time...Chocolate Pave, omg. Melted in my mouth. Get in my belly!
Amazing by the glass wine list - I love to splurge on a glass of Taittinger after a long day of work. And even had some yummy port with dessert.
Food is always good but not great... way too expensive, Parking irritating. Charging extra to use a credit card. As a business owner, I found that offensive. This is the cost of doing business.it was my birthday and surprise the Server did not offer/bring a dessert with a candle after dinner....Shame on owners & management training of servers not to offer $2 scoop of ice cream.
Excellent service. We came in with a baby in a stroller and even though the space was somewhat tight we were promptly accommodated. The lobster was delicious as well.
I love the lobster and usually go Sunday afternoon because the view of the ocean and bustling pier is great. The food is very good and I am never disappointed. One of my favorites I’ve been eating for 10 years now is the crab enchiladas with Caesar salad. Honestly everything is good.
