Way too expensive. $540 for 3 people. We were promised a table by the window when we made a reservation but got seated at a table in the middle. They were very un accommodating. We will never go back.
The Lobster is great for a special occasion. A bit pricey for every day.
Service was fantastic as always. Erin and Aaron were great. The food was so good however it is a little overpriced, but we have been here several times! Great views too!
Visited on a Thursday, 715PM. Despite setting reservation months ago, were not given a window table = actually, zero surprise. Hostess was uncomfortably short and kind of dismissive. Restaurant was full, but still a comfortable atmosphere. Our waiter, don't recall his name, was attentive, friendly and helpful. Glasses stayed full, food was pricey (of course), but excellent. Thumbs up to entire service staff. Calimari and shrimp cocktail were exceptional. Everyone enjoyed their meals, easy walk from Pier, views were great, an overall very good experience. I would definitely recommend.
We celebrated our 35th anniversary here and our server Sigourney was fantastic
Not crazy about the poached lobster that my wife ordered.
Birthday dinner for myself. The food was amazing! Our waiter was awesome! Very attentive! Definitely will go back!
Great view, fantastic sea foods, especially grilled lobster was the best. Friendly service was also good, not so noisy. I’ll definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and will come back again.
During our visit, just after lunch hour rush. We were seated at a decent table with a view. We sat for about 30min without even a glance from any of the waiters. The busboys were the ones offering their attention . The menu looked great and the reviews seemed decent. We ordered Shrimp cocktail, and the Calamari and Prawns to start. Took another 20 min for the food to arrive in which we were still waiting of water for the table . After the food arrives, 10 min later we receive the bread and chimchurri that is supposed to be out first thing. As the main entree, we decided to share the Pork Belly and Shrimp Bahn mi sandwich. They sliced it in half and split it on two separate plates, which was actually nice and I was impressed. However, when we bit into it. An overwhelming about of grease spilt out of the BREAD. Not from the actually meat itself... our server "BEN" threw out a "How's everything" question without really giving us attention to the answer we gave him when we said " Actually, this sandwich is really greasy" in which he replied " Well it is pork belly, that's what it is" and LEFT!..... Now I've been to a wide variety of restaurant with different ratings... but NEVER have I ever had that happen to me. The restaurant was NOT busy , so he really did not have an excuse to act that way.. It's sad because from that one experience with that waiter, it changed my whole perception of this restaurant. Normally, the waiters / waitresses are in charge of making sure their guests are happy..if there is an issue, they are the ones to help offer solutions.. He didnt even ask if we wanted to order something else.. Just left us at the table with 1 bite taken out of the sandwich until we got fed up and had to ask a bus boy for our check. Then how quickly was he at the table to collect our money. When throughout our entire visit he hardly gave us any help. Ridiculous. Sorry Ben but I'm sorry you hate your job so much , you have to take it out on paying customers.
Marcel and Sigurnie were very professional and fun guys there
Check the Market Prices before ordering. The grilled lobster was $150 per plate. Also, be sure to a wait for a good table. We got stuck in the corner overlooking the PCH.
Food was excellent. Waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Great as always .
My number one go to restaurant.
Great service, location and food!
The most memorable meal of our California vacation. Every course was delicious and fresh. Our waiter was friendly and wonderfully knowledgeable.
The lobster was very nice. Great service. Great food. No complaints. Amazing view, nothing to complain about. Definitely worth the money
Everything about our dining experience was perfect.
Too many customs there, too many noises
The American lobster is good but expensive.
Two people spent 315 US dollar.
I've been here twice now with my boyfriend and both times the food just blew us away. Everything is fresh and the service is amazing. We are from NorCal and The Lobster is definitely going to be our spot to go too when ever we are in town.
Very good pier side dinner, on a lovely evening in Santa Monica. The service was attentive, but it was busy and a bit delayed. We would recommend.
Lousy reservation process. I made a reservation for 6 people in a table by the window. 3 weeks in advance. Table was not ready at scheduled time. We would have to wait for 30 minutes to get what was reserved for.
Sea food pasta was very good, crab cake average.
Average food. Great view though.
I was very disappointed with menu choices. The crab cakes were lousy. The salad was soaked in dressing. We used to look forward to eating there but Will not go back
Staff were very attentive and helpful, we were extremely jetlagged with a 2 year old and they really took care of us and served us as quickly as they could and did as much as they could to make us comfortable and happy. 2nd time here and both times the same.
First of all, every meal and wine is very delicious. You can enjoy fresh seafood. I want to repeat whenever I came to Los Angeles.
My sister’s b day
The service was horrible, and I actually had to talk to the manager about the server. But the food is so great.
This is the second time I've been to The Lobster and I think it's one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I absolutely love it!
We have been going here for years but it seems like the service is really going down hill.
This restaurant has an amazing view and the staff is great. the food is delicious. I will always come back for more!!
Expensive but worth the summer view and ambiance. Lobster fabulous. Staff & service very good. A great evening.
Excellent service and a wonderful meal!! Taylor our waiter was outstanding!
Service was prompt and most courteous. Menu left nothing to be desired. Food was delicious. Wine list was adequate. Valet parking always amazing, they seem to know when you're on your way out, and the car is readily available. Always a treat in spite of the long drive.
Terrible experience, never back again very disappointed experience.
The restaurant is a classic in L.A. - from the extraordinary view to the fabulous menu to the exceptional service. It is first class in every respect. Valet parking is almost a necessity as citations are $53 if you run over at a nearby meter.
Should give a courtesy dessert to celebrate a birthday and that is why we made reservations and stated that when the reservation was made on Open Table.
Can't beat the view.
The food was very good. We ordered the scallops and the New York steak. I thought the steak was a bit pricey for it to be served with fries. Overall a good spot
We were celebrating fathers day.
Hello, I’m only writing this review because I would love to return to The Lobster restaurant and hopefully they will use this as constructive criticism. Overall are dinning experience was great! My husband and myself along with our two young girls had a reservation for 3pm. We arrived at 3 and was seated promptly. LOVED THAT! My husband ordered 9oz’s of lobster which while eating realized it wasent thoroughly cooked, some parts just tasted raw. For the price that’s a No Go! I ordered the lobster enchiladas, which had good flavor just needed a little more sauce, they were on the dry side. Our girls both enjoyed their dinner. But overall everything else was great. I will give The Lobster another try just on the view alone
