Wonderful high tea with delicious food, great service, and lovely music in the background. Put away your cell phone and go spend a few hours talking and listening to your friends face to face at high tea at the Peninsula. You won't regret it!

Visiting Chicago in many ways is always a new adventure. For my daighters’ 15th Birthday we decided to reserve a table for afternoon tea. We commend the hostess that evening and especially the fabulous server Ubaldo. Ubaldo allowed for an amazing experience. I can not sufficiently describe the tasty scones, sandwiches: lobster shrimp, cucumber, smoked salmon, chicken salad and roasted butternut squash. Our desserts were also fabulous. As was the tea. Our compliments to the chef for the beautiful and equally delicious dessert that was sent out to my daughter.

My favorite place in Chicago. Killer breakfast. Comfortable setting that’s even better if you can go upstairs and nap!

The "pink" tea in October for breast cancer awareness is now my favorite. They helped me celebrate my boyfriend's Birthday nicely. They always call me by name and make me feel like a princess. The lemon scones are the best I've ever had.

This was a fifth afternoon tea. My Dayghter and I both don’t eat fish. The selection for alternatives was not great.

The service was especially wonderful and our waiter Ray was lovely and talked to my mom and me, yet still attended to other diners. He explained everything so well and paid close attention to dietary restrictions.

I’m not a brunch person. But this is a good brunch even if you don’t do well at them. Go straight for the Chinese and Japanese dishes and the hot dishes. Dessert dishes were not memorable.

This used to be a great restaurant that was worthy of its (now lost) Michelin star and the otherwise-wonderful hotel. However, it has gone really downhill. Food was just okay for the price -- easily over $100 per person. Service took forever. One member of our party didn't get their entree till everyone else had had their food for probably 20-25 minutes. No more white tablecloths. It used to be a special restaurant, but you'd now be a fool to go here with all the other good options in River North.

The Lobby is an amazing place! The food, service, ambiance and people are excellent. I went for a birthday celebration and it could not have been better! I recommend going and I recommend indulging in the Chocolate at the Pen, which is incredible! I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Wow. The french toast here was out of this world. I will never look at french toast the same way again. It was like biting into a sweet cloud that was slightly crunchy on the outside. Highly recommend, would definitely go back.

Service was also top notch, the jams and ketchup all come in individual bottles which makes it feel extra special!

The 20ft floor to ceiling windows give the location a very bright and pleasant feel. The noise level was quiet, perfect for conversation. We came here for breakfast and it was worth every penny.

We love coming to the Peninsula Lobby for special occasions with each other as a couple or with friends. The wait staff and management greet us like we are coming back home. The food is gourmet quality without the stuffiness surrounding it. The ambiance is exquisite integrating spectacular artwork with windowed views of the Miracle Mile. We will come back again and again.

I know this is the "Peninsula " but charging $75 for a Sunday brunch is just plain stupid. It might have been ok if it included unlimited Mimosas. It didn't. A great venue but we will not be back.

For my birthday, I decided to treat my self to the tea service at The Lobby. I was rather disappointed. At $65, I realized $55 dollars of that was going to 3 little plates of nibbles and 3 dips. I had too much at my lunch beforehand and couldn't finish it all, so I asked to have it wrapped. The waiter did not wrap my dips with my food when that was supposed to be part of what made everything special.

Also, I didn't like that when he asked if I wanted sparkling or still water, he didn't tell me he would charge me $9 for a large bottle of Pellegrino. If it were a table of people, that would be different, but it was just me and I was having a pot of tea. No way I was going to come close to finishing that bottle of water. Some places have sparkling water to serve just as they do they still water. I truly can't stand when I don't get a head's up that I'll be made to buy a big bottle. It's deceitful.

I'll return to The Lobby for Chocolate at The Pen, which I love, but I don't think the tea service they offer is anywhere near worth the amount they are charging. The value isn't there. I appreciated the sorbet they gave me for my birthday, but it didn't help the overall disappointment and the deceit I felt regarding the water. I'll be trying The Drake and the Russian Tea Room to see if they fare better.

Went for the high tea and it was PHENOMENAL! My mom and I had a fabulous time and I would highly recommend. The tea was terrific and the food you get as part of the high tea package is just enough for an afternoon mid-day snack. I will definitely return.
