On Friday and Saturday evenings, The Lobby features a buffet of chocolate desserts complete with bite-sized creations, a seasonal action station and live music for guests and locals to enjoy.
Food and service were exquisite.
Perfect setting to really impress a client for a very important business dinner
Lovely place and delicious food . We had wonderful time!
We had tea at the Lobby. The space is beautiful and the service, overall, was good. The live music was wonderful. Several suggestions, however, came to mind. One, the tall tea trays impede conversation which, after all, is part of the joy of having tea. Two, if you have a large party including loud young children, try to seat them somewhere other than the center of the room. Particularly if they are going to eventually be sitting under the table. I understand that this is mostly the fault of the parents, but tea is not a time for loud, screechy children.
We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet at The Lobby. This is the second time that we have experienced the buffet, and I have to admit that the food and ambiance were even better this time than the last. We will definitely visit The Lobby again. Thank you.
Wonderful place for a special occasion. Amazing service! We asked about the tea and were given a sample to go!
I don’t know why this place wasn’t busier. Awesome food, ambiance and great service.
I love The Lobby...so elegant yet casual at the same time. The food is always good and the service is wonderful.
The staff was amazing!
Service was outstanding. Food was a little disappointing compared to other times I have been here.
Thanks so much for catering for vegans and making us feel welcome.
Great service, creative menu selections.
We were celebrating a birthday, and The Libby was Fabulous!! Loved it, would go back in a minute!!
This was a lovely place to dine. It was open to the lobby and some separation would have made it perfect. The food, service and drinks were superb. It was pricey but a lovely experience.
Fantastic service in a very swanky place! Love the view of the snow covered courtyard with white lights on the trees. Thai beef salad was delicious with lots of meat.
Excellent food and service in a quiet, sophisticated atmosphere.
My wife and I were there for the Afternoon Tea the weekend after Valentine's Day. Everything was excellent except that we felt it was a bit overpriced. We paid $85 per person, but thought that $65 per person is more appropriate in our personal opinion. We felt that paying a bill in the neighborhood of $150 was a sweet spot. We paid over $200 so that was kind of over the top. The tea, scones, finger foods, and pastries were certainly good but not that special thought the heart-shaped desserts were a nice touch for Valentine's Day. As a comparison, the desserts at Le Chocolat in Naperville, for example, are better and for a quarter of the price. The only critique we have is price relative to the quality, creativity, and taste of the tea and food. Otherwise, an absolutely wonderful experience in terms of service and ambiance. The servers had a lot of class and did not miss any details. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The super high ceilings and classic decor is luxurious. The giant wall of windows allowed the daylight to pour in. If you don't care about the cost I would highly recommend Afternoon Tea at The Lobby. For us mere mortals, we'll be happy to return on that rare occasion when we want to splurge on a high-class experience.
Beautiful! It was a unique experience that we will always remember.
Cannot day enough great things about The Lobby and the Peninsula. Always enjoy our stay. Best brunch in Chicago! Love the staff and atmosphere as well. Simply the best!
Our annual tradition of visiting The Peninsula’s chocolate bar. It’s always fabulously good. The only down side is the price. We would love to enjoy a meal but the prices for a family is so incredibly expensive. The chocolate bar is quite pricey too, but it’s a tradition the children love and the desserts are pieces of art.
It is the most perfect place for lunch or tea. Quiet, elegant, great food and incomparable service.
Always a pleasant dining experience at the lobby.the staff are attentive and the service is exceptional.they have the best dessert And the ambiance is beautiful.I love this place we come here every year to celebrate our anniversary
The Lobby is an upscaled place with very good food and service. For dinner we got a complimentary plate of tasty bread and butter. The main course is not coming with a side, so you have to pay extra for it. The interior is beautiful, but not too extra. We really liked tables’ setup as guests have plenty of room and neighboring tables are distant from each other. We also loved high ceilings!
I took my wife to the Lobby on an outing as part of her 53rd birthday. From the moment we entered the hotel the service was impeccable. The ambiance of the Lobby was fabulous. Rebekah was our waitress, she was absolutely fantastic. She took great care of us from beginning of service until the ended. She was well versed in the layout of the brunch service, I can not say enough about how Great she was. We really enjoyed our time there. We will come back and recommend the Lobby to family and friends.
Excellent all around experience! We’ll definitely be back in the near future.
We had an outstanding lunch at the Lobby. The food was exquisite (the dessert was decadent), the service was unobtrusive and excellent, and the atmosphere was wonderful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!
Wonderful Food, Wondering Ambiance ! Recommend to everyone to go at least once!
Celebrated a birthday for the second year. Everything was perfect.
Undoubtedly one of the best restaurants during the restaurant week, 24 for a 3 course lunch in the peninsula hotel
Annual birthday celebration for high tea.
Absolutely loved the food and ambiance. Will definitely go back!
It’s perfect from the moment you walk in. The service the food everything is excellent.
Lovely setting for afternoon tea. It is not cheap but worth it for a special occasion. The food was well-prepared, extra scones were brought to the table without our asking, and a lovely birthday cake with candle was provided. Kudos to our waiter Ruben for providing a menu without prices on short notice, to allow my friend to enjoy the event without seeing the cost.
Went out for restaurant week in Chicago and enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Lobby. Presentation was perfect and food was delicious. Service was on par and would happily return again
Always one of my favorite places to grab a delicious lunch.
We went to the Lobby for Restaurant Week on a Sunday. Surprise! On Sunday's no Restaurant Week menu. Just a $95 Brunch!
Made this reservation being of the understanding that Sunday brunch was part of Restaurant week (as was indicated on Open Table / The Lobby website). However was told upon seating that Sunday brunch is not included in restaurant week. .
We took my mother here for her 80th, it was delightful! The staff went above and beyond. Food, especially scones were fantastic. That said, the price tag is too hefty in my opinion.
