The Lobby - Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier Ratings and Reviews
Many of the special features do not apply to this venue. It does not have an outdoor area of a view. Quite a ways off the beaten path for a late night find. Not a late night find. A nice quite mid range fine dining experience. Not really a place for kids at all.
Just happened to walk by this hotel/restaurant disguised as a chic, upscale condo tower on a nice summer day. Very glad that I did so too. Food was surprisingly good, however, portion sizes would probably not appeal to those that frequent the all you can eat prime rib buffets. Great service, unique menu items, beautiful location.
We had a lovely lunch after a morning hike in the Lynn valley, we jumped on our food! The crab cake and grilled chicken sandwich are now family favorites. My parents in their 70s, are quite picky about restaurant food, but adored the lobby.Recommend it for mature families for a casual but quality meal.
parking issue. Gave stall number on entry to restaurant and asked it to be on bill. It was included on bill however a $61 ticket on my car after dinner. Back up to hotel to have resolved..eventually. What had been a nice evening soured by the ending. Would now not recommnend
The food overall was good, the service a little slow though. They grouped everyone near the windows to make the restaurant look fuller. We were sat next to a table that had a child running around and the parents didn't do anything. No fault to the restaurant but i would have preferred a quieter table. Our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be working that day but was pleasant enough, although she nearly took my aunts head off by shoving her serving tray so close to my aunts face. My omelet was good, but the breakfast potatoes were soft and had too much seasoning on them. My aunt said her eggs benny was good but didn't finish it all because there was too much. The view was of a parking/street area which was not great
Booked this location based on lots of good reviews.
The ambiance in The Lobby is great: inviting; good lighting with plenty of room between tables.
The wait staff are attentive, friendly & non-intrusive.
For starters the ahi tuna poke simply amazing. Fresh, juicy, nicely blended and lots of tuna. The baked brie was creamy, rich and with the ripeness of the fig compote could be served before or after the meal.
The entrees arrived about 50 minutes later. Since the restaurant was not busy, that was far too long. The halibut was nice but a bit dry. The lamb was good, cooked rare but hot throughout, as ordered.
Other than the tuna, the meal was not Great. Nothing specifically wrong but it was not memorable. We left disappointed.
Contemporary with a relaxed, friendly feel. Wait staff excellent, serve with a knowledgeable understanding of the menu, are pleasant and efficient while not hanging on you. Food has always been great for lunch and dinner. My husband and I Loved the filet with crab and Bearnaise sauce. Salads are excellent, and sandwiches abundantly filled. Great coffee, and an average wine list. Would definitely recommend to friends.
The food was wonderful, the table service attentive but the service from the kitchen was very slow. Also, the wine list is deceiving - it does not list the price of a whole bottle of wine but 1/2 bottles only. Although a good selection of wine it is on the expensive side. Forewarned, I would go again.
Contemporary, bright, large windows. The Lobby is located on the main floor of the Pinnacle Hotel. New area by Lonsdale Quay. Food was good. Halibut excellent, ribs were cold, but replaced quickly. Had the 3 course special with the wine pairing. Good value.
Food was good, the Brie was amazing.
Service was slow and our waiter did not have the best table eddicate.
The Resturant is in a great location, but for the price point I would of expected more. I would go there again for a drinks and Appies but not for dinner.
Every year we go away for our Anniversary for a weekend. Our stay at the Pier and our dining experience at the Lobby was exceptional. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff at the restaurant and the front desk are first class. Thank you for everything. We will be back.
We had really unpleasant experience this restaurant so we won't go back again.
It was a special occasion so I invited a few close friends for the "Afternoon Tea".
No waitresses came to our table until I asked. It took 15min. for water and 45min. for being served tea! Then, guests from the wedding came into the restaurant which made the restaurant in chaos and noisy. We felt like we had to leave for them.
When I asked a few staffs about my new umbrella which I lost, they didn't even try to help me. They said, "You should ask the reception" (there was nobody there), "If you left there, it should be there" or "I'm sorry, I just got in so I don't know."
The food was dried and nothing special. I was very disappointed.
Our first impression was not very good as it took 10 minutes after being seated before we were served. Not great for such an expensive place. It improved after that. We had the 3 course meal. The entree and dessert were delicious. The ribs were tender but very dry. The vegetables were very good. Overall we had an enjoyable evening, but i am not sure i would hurry back.
I've been to The Lobby for brunch, lunch, dinner, and nibblies and I've never been disappointed. What I love is the versatility of The Lobby. From a Mother's Day brunch, to an intimate dinner, to late night drinks. The food is fantastic--from the Club House Sandwich to the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benny. A very impressive wine list which stresses quality and good prices rather than quantity keeps me intrigued and coming back. All this would be for naught if it wasn't for the staff. They are always very friendly, helpful, and funny when they need to be. Not only would I recommend The Lobby to my friends and family, but I do recommend them. I took my mom for Mother's Day and both my parents were very impressed. Thank you once again for everything.
Overall it was fine, but it took 40 minutes to get anything at all on the table-including water and a drink. Given the bar was only a few steps away, it would have been faster for us to go order a drink ourselves. The 3-course dinner with pairings was good value, but the habit of clearing others' plates while some are still eating should be discouraged.
The Pinnacle Hotel missed it's mark by a mile by locating the restaurant at ground level. While it had floor to ceiling windows to bring in the much loved light, one's view when looking towards the water is of the building in front of it, and some derelect
ship innards off to the side. It would have enhanced the experience to another stratosphere had the restaurant and bar/lounge were situated on the upper floors.
Overall, the food was well-prepared and nicely presented. The price point was quite reasonable (I suspect that the pricing would have matched the floor level if it was on an upper floor).
The service was quiet, professional, and friendly. Very nicely done.
I'd come back or recommend it.
We like the restaurant and the food but wish that we did not have to be so close to other diners. Also the accoustics seem to be too good as in noisy! Both of these points do not make for a quiet romantic atmosphere which we like while dining.
On this last occasion I will say that staff did find us a reasonably quiet table as requested.
I don't know what a Foodie is. I hope it doesn't become a Hot Spot.
Everything was great and we had a delicous meal and good wine! If I had to pick out one single problem it would be the seating, the table was either too high or the chairs were too low. It made dining a lottle uncomfortable and we felt blocked from each other a bit otherwise it was pretty flawless and the price was definitely worth it!
