We come here a lot and love it! Just wish the servers in the restaurant were as friendly as the servers in the lounge....
good food and drinks for a fair price especially with a hotel discount
The food was tasty but the service was cold and quick. We ordered a 1/2 litre of wine with appies and though our waitress breezed by a couple times quickly asking us how everything was tasting - she never offered us anything else before bringing the bill & took away our empty carafe & glasses without offering us more wine!?! We were barely there an hour including appies, entre and dessert which is great for a speedy lunch but not great for a married couple on date night.
I always enjoy this room. At lunch it is lovely and bright, music not overwhelming and comfortable. In the evening pleasant view of lights and feels spacious but not cavernous . Food is always good, fresh and delicious, a gem for the North Shore.
We have twins who are two years old and the staff were amazing and super kind. The girls made it without any major meltdowns and we had a nice meal also. We will go back!! Thank you!!
Our second time here and once again the food was excellent. Very good servers as well. Highly recommend.
It is nice place to visit, however, make sure you ask questions about the spices . The food could be very spicy . Not everyone can tolerate it.
Had a good Birthday brunch with friends, one of our favorite places to eat
We always have a good meal at this hotel restaurant.
Great place for a nice dinner.
Used a Groupon here as well with my family and aunt from Toronto. Food were great, as most restaurant food inside a hotel are usually over cooked and this one isn't. Selection on the deal was great, food were hot and moist and it doesn't disappoint. Aunt did mention even at their regular price menu to the food tastiness ration, it has its value. There is a paid parking inside the hotel lobby, just let your server know about it and you don't have to pay.
We purchased a Groupon and give the whole experience 5 stars. The menu selections were superb: delicious, good portions and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and enhanced the enjoyment of the meal. It was all so good that we decided to purchase another Groupon to use in the near future.
Unfortunately, it was difficult to book online through Open Table, but the restaurant staff and manager were helpful in providing an explanation and facilitating a reservation for the time we preferred and gave us the bonus points for the booking. Great PR and customer service oriented.
Was a little disappointed when my filet mignon came to the table, looking more towards "well done" rather than "medium rare." However, after sharing my thoughts with one of the staff about my filet mignon, I was very impressed with the service that was taken to correct the situation. They fully redeemed themselves by providing excellent customer service. They offered to cook my filet mignon again, and they were quite prompt about it. It was much better the second time around, and they also gave us a discount on our bill. I would highly recommend this restaurant for awesome food and superb customer service.
Had the fish tacos. Just ok. VERY small taco, VERY thin, WAY to much food for size of taco. Had to use knife & fork. Not good value.
We were 3 ladies out for a visit. Two need hearing aids so we appreciated the quiet. We have all been fairly frequent diners at this restaurant so have become to expect great food and service. Our server was excellent. Very friendly and helpful without being intrusive in our visit. We will be back!
This is not our first time at this restaurant and every time food is very good, service is great, prices are fair and parking is free.
Breakfast was very appetizing combined with pleasant friendly service. Overall a nice place to enjoy a comfortable and well cooked meal. Thank you for a very good experience.
I have been half a dozen times to this restaurant. The dinner meals are far superior to the breakfast. We came for Father's Day breakfast. The cook does not know how to prepare poached eggs without drowning them in vinegar (this happened once before and I accepted the explanation from the waitress that the cook was overwhelmed with poached egg orders and added more vinegar to the water) but I tried the poached eggs again and again they were vinegary. The waitress was extremely defensive about the fact that I sent them back saying you cannot prepare poached eggs without vinegar. Of course you can. And if you can't, you must use it spareingly. Anyway, I sent them back and got scrambled eggs in return, which were fine. The waitress then volunteered that she wouldn't have served me the eggs but she doesn't go around smelling people's food. Yikes! what a lovely reaction to people trying to have a nice Father's Day breakfast. I will likely go again at dinner, but never breakfast.
Great and friendly service! Terrific food made this Mother's Day special!
We have enjoyed the Pinnacle many times including lunch, Brunch, and for New Years . It has proven to be reliable and you can count on great food. Today, our brunch was good but like althings, its the weakest link that gets a restaurant in trouble. I guess the good thing is that that weak link will likely not last long. my Parents had the crabcake bennies which looked awesone. My wife, a fritatta and for me a simple burger. All was great. I would not say the the atmosphere was anything but a standard Hotel restaurant but it was just fine. The area is tremendous including a sunny walk out onto the pier after lunch. I would have preferred a payment that included a tab that allowed for other choices beyond, 15%, 20%, 25% or a calculated amount of my choice. Had I been able to leave 5 or 10%, I would have but the timing was a bit challenging so I reluctantly left 15%. At this rate, the weak link may not know that she left a lot to be desired as she will likley always see 15% or zero
Our brunch on the Saturday was so good that we returned on Sunday for lunch!
Great food, great price and excellent service we will definitely be back, would be nice to get free parking.
Everything was good...but pricey. Server was very good.
We dined there during the "Dine Out Vancouver" with the set prix menu. The selections on the menu were good and ample portions as well as being tasty. Down side was the cocktails are a little more pricier than other places we have dined at and the music was a tad too loud, hard to have a conversation but once all the patrons got in there ,the place was quite noisy . Would go again perhaps at a different time .
The service was excellent. The food was uninspired. Quinoa salad was a sprinkling of quinoa over salad greens with a very oily dressing. Wine pairings were a miss. Fish was very dry. Pay the extra $4 for bread as it was the highlight.
I went for the Dine Out Vancouver menu and was pleasantly surprised. The $40 menu was a steal. The Beef Carpaccio was wonderful. I thought that the food could only go down with such a strong start, but was wrong. I had the Lamb Shank and it was even better. I love lamb, so I'm always expecting something good and I wasn't disappointed. I went with my Mother and she thoroughly enjoyed the Quinoa Salad. She said it was a bit too big for her. She did manage to finish the Beef Tenderloin though. Another good meal all around. The desert was also very good. Lots of chocolate and a bit of cheesecake too. Overall a very good deal. We both said we'd like to come back. The 2 hour free underground parking was a bonus I was't expecting. With parking at a premium in the lower Lonsdale area that was a real plus.
The crab cake Benny was Devine. We will be back for more!
we tried this place as part of the dine out menu, I have had a couple of drinks here before but never eaten dinner here. We booked it purely out of interest as it is a local place not expecting much as it is linked to a hotel however we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and they had great wine pairings with the meal, the waitress was very attentive without being intrusive. Altogether a great meal I would recommend to anyone.
Although one person from our group of 3 was already there we did not see her; we waited at least 5 minutes prior to being acknowledged, finally a bus boy came and helped us!!!! Food was good; great presentation; perhaps a bit on the pricey side
The place is very nice, though it wants to be more upscale than it actually is. Most people are fairly casual to smart casual and I think they would like everyone to be a bit fancier. The waiter was very nice but I think disappointed that we were not super fancy or ordering from the Dine out Menu; however, he still provided great service. The Dine out Vancouver menu was NOT worth it because it was exactly the same things as on their regular menu at the same or higher price...someone didnt think it through. Additionally, the dine out price was $40 and when you can go to the Grouse Mountain Observatory for the same price, it makes NO sense to go to Lobby. Consequently we ordered off the regular menu. I got the Salmon burger which was the best I've had ever and for a great price $14.99ish. My friend ordered the lobster mac and cheese which was lacking in lobster, as disappointing as it is, this will likely always be the case unless you go to the east coast. Overall, a nice place if you want a salmon burger and dont care that they are disappointed that you are there.
Our server was very personable and attentive, and seemed to want to make sure our visit was a good one. Every dish I had as part of the Dine Out dinner menu was DELICIOUS and prepared perfectly. The quinoa salad was a great suprise - not just quinoa, but a wonderful and perfectly proportioned mixer of greens and other goodies, all in a very tasty dressing. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked, tender, tasty and the perfect temperature. All the food on my dinner plate was perfectly cooked (but I would have liked the carrot a little less al dente) and stayed warm the whole time I was eating - very seldom does this happen, so kudos for this! The dessert was to die for - the cheesecake square was creamy and rich and absolutely perfect and the pate was amazing. Really impressed with what came out of the kitchen, and I will be back.
yet again we had a wonderful brunch good food and really fast service, we keep coming back for more....
The service was okay. The food was good. We should have asked for a table during the reservation. We were given a booth but was not able to use the high chair for our 10 month child.
Booked table and arrived for a business lunch. Was seated promptly. During lunch, there is a good lighting for your enjoyment
Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Took very good care of us
Enjoyed good food for a reasonable price. The Lobby is very consistent in the quality of their dishes. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant can be a bit noisy but will calm down later in the evening. Highly recommended!
The good food and accessibility I'd what keeps me coming back. The service was slow through the fault of kitchen and not waitress. It was busy
This was our third time at The Lobby. First two visits were extraordinary. This last visit left a lot to be desired. It was very busy and quite short staffed. Our servers varied through out the evening so the service wasn't consistent at all. When our dessert came it was served by the hostess with no forks so we spent about 5 min flagging someone down for help. The food was just "ok" this time where in the past I was over the top impressed. Will definitely go back and give it another chance and hoping this experience was just a "one of"
The waiter was rude, everything took forever. He was working the bar and serving 5 tables. Took over 20 minutes just to get our bill. Overpriced... Host didn't even know about OpenTable points so we didn't get that either. Overall I would have rather gone somewhere else for that price.
The short ribs were good, but not as tender as I like. The server while friendly was not overly attentive. We went there to visit and found the DJ music to loud for that, would prefer acoustic.
