We went here for the Afternoon Tea. The food was very good, as expected. The tea was a little on the lukewarm side. The service however was somewhat lacking. Our server in particular rarely came by our table and we had to call her over 2 or 3 times. Actually ended up asking another table's server for to get something for us at one point.

The Langham sets the bar for High Tea. The service is attentive and makes each person feel special. Flowers, live piano player, splendid view, fine china and furnishings. Not a cheap outing, but you get what you pay for.

The Lobby Lounge Wedgwood Tea was EXQUISITE!!! Our server, Carrie, did an EXCEPTIONAL job in making sure my Mom was treated like a QUEEN for her 80th Birthday. All the food from the finger sandwiches to the delicious desserts were prepared to perfection. It was literally a delectable delight both aesthetically & gastronomically to dine in such a luxurious setting. Thank you Carrie for making the occasion an extra special one with your 5-star customer service & hospitality. We will forever cherish the family memories made here at the Langham.

The Afternoon Tea at The Lobby Lounge at The Langham Hotel (formerly The Ritz) was pleasant. Our servers were friendly and personable. My date and I had the chocolate afternoon tea, which had chocolate flavoring in each of savory sandwiches, but it was a pleasant surprise not to have the sandwiches taste sweet. It added another dimension to the food we ate. Sunday brunch is my favorite and I was also pleasantly surprised to find that it was not too noisy or crowded, like I thought it would be. I would definitely recommend the Afternoon Tea Service to anyone who is looking for a fantastic view of the landscape of the hotel grounds and a chocolate fountain as a bonus for their Sunday Afternoon tea service.

Gorgeous hotel and garden. I've had much better tea sandwiches and scones but they were acceptable. Beautiful selection of teensy pastries that looked like the work of a master and were tasty. Real clotted cream was a big plus. Staff were friendly once service began. Negatives: staff not welcoming when we first arrived and stood around not understanding why no one was being seated, or even if we were in the right place, and according to my friend same thing happened last time. Did not offer more hot water which great tea rooms do (to dilute the tea steeping too long in the pot), and our biggest complaint was that, even though we booked early, for first seating, and we arrived first, we were given the worst table up against a wall with no view. Meanwhile others got better tables, and other tables with charming garden view stood empty throughout. Should have been pushy at the start I suppose.

I took my mom here for tea for Mother's Day. We both enjoyed it. The tea and sandwiches were very good. They place was very classy without being snobby.

Went there for tea on Mother's Day. Lovely place, lovely table and great food!
On Sundays they have the Chocolate Tea which was fun and different!
The only thing is that the chocolate fountain was pink (meaning white chocolate) which was fun, but I expected a regular milk or dark chocolate.

I apologize in advance for not remembering our hostess and server's names, but they are the real stars. I had made reservations for tea for Mother's Day. I had also ordered flowers to be shipped there the day of as a surprise. The flowers had not arrived even after we had finished tea. The Hostess went out of her way during our reservation to search the hotel grounds if the flowers had been shipped. They unfortunately had not arrived. However, out of the kindness of their hearts they put together a bouquet of pick roses from the grounds of the hotel. That was a very nice and thoughtful surprise. They have won my return service because of this awesome gesture. And then right before we leave the actual flowers had been shipped. However, the roses they gave were more beautiful than the vase of flowers I had bought.

We chose the Langham to celebrate a family birthday - a girls morning out. The setting is relaxed in a proper English way with lovely tea sandwiches and a dessert table. The live music from an onsite pianist is a special treat.

Service was just mediocre. After they brought out the food they didn't refill the tea with hot water. I had to keep flagging the server down. It was also the same with the bill.

My husband and I went to Tea at The Lobby Lounge at The Langham in Pasadena on 12/28/15 hoping to enjoy their beautiful Holiday decorations (as we did last year) while enjoying Tea. Unfortunately, we were a day late, and were told all the Holiday decorations were taken down the day before, making our experience disappointing.

One would think the Hotel would leave their beautiful Holiday displays in place through the New Year for their clients (who stay there as part of the New Year's Day Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game festivities) to enjoy. While the rose bouquets were lovely, they could have been an addition to the other, traditional Holiday decorations.

Worst. Experience. Ever. Everything was stale. Would've told our server except she disappeared. So I went up to the bar and voiced our concern. We were politely told everything was made that morning but they would back with the chef and confirm. 20 minutes later and no one bothered to come check on us so I got up again to speak to the only other server I could find who said they were still checking and would send over a manager. 15 minutes later still no chef, no manager and no server, so we walked out. They didn't even put up a fight, just validated my parking and let us go. They knew it was a total failure on their part.

My tea was barely lukewarm and the server did not come around nearly often enough. Considering these factors, the price was exorbitant. I had enjoyed tea here before and was looking forward to a return for my wife's birthday, and we were both disappointed.

My friend and I really appreciated the extra thoughtful service that our server provided. She was super attentive and offered us a sample pot of the Langham blend tea, which was fantastic with our Earl Grey and English Breakfast teas. I would highly recommend getting away from the LA bustle and visiting this spot for a relaxing cup with friends.

The bread on the sandwiches were dry and hard. A few of them were left off the tower because they were still being made. 45 minutes later still didn't get them. Had to ask twice for them. Service was not attentive. I guess you go for the ambiance.

The Langham itself is a gorgeous oasis, nestled in San Marino and the Afternoon Tea does not disappoint. The quiet and airy tea room is spacious and elegant, the service speedy and attentive and the ambience superb. The live piano music adds to the atmosphere and the tea itself is delicious. A great selection of teas are available and the food itself is very tasty. I ate every finger sandwich despite some of their exotic descriptions and the scones were fresh accompanied by the finest clotted cream. I requested the lemon curd, as the menu mentioned it accompanied the scones, and was not disappointed with the freshly made curd. It was so good we practically licked the bowl clean! The sweet desserts were also delightful and upon reaching our fill were not pressured to leave. Rather, they boxed up our delicacies, sending us home with extra scones, and continuing to refill our tea pot as we sipped the afternoon away. A wonderful experience for a special occasion, I highly recommend it for those looking for an elegant retreat in the Pasadena area. And a bonus! We were more than welcome to wander the grounds of The Langham, exploring the Japanese garden and learning more about its history following our Tea.

First off, our server Mirabelle was top notch. She was extremely friendly and attentive.

We loved the living room type of setting for dining and live pianist...very comfortable and appropriate for a lovely afternoon tea.

To start us off, we were served champagne and a sparkling rose lemonade...all bottomless. They have a nice selection of teas. I loved the Langham tea. We also had the Mint Truffle tea which was also a very delicious mint tea...it's not at all a mint chocolate tea as the name might imply, but that was already pointed out to us by our server so we were not surprised.

The tea sandwich selections were quite good. I wasn't sure what to expect being that there is a chocolate theme on Sunday's but there were slight notes of chocolate in every savory bite. Only the profiterole was slightly sweet and it was so delicious.

On Sundays, dessert is served buffet style and there are at least a dozen bite-sized chocolate sampling. Plus, there is a chocolate fountain with a variety of fresh marshmallows, cake bites, and fruits for dipping. Our favorite dessert was a brownie and mousse layered bite with gold crispy pearls on top.

We took home the scones and jams to enjoy later since we were absolutely satisfied and could not eat another single bite.

The grounds of the Langham Hotel are beautiful and parts are actually very peaceful despite such a big hotel with many guests. We enjoyed a nice walk around the hotel after our meal before heading home.

We "go to tea" someplace each month. August was our month for The Lobby Lounge @ The Langham Hotel Pasadena. We had a lovely time at this historic hotel. The servers were pretty, friendly and efficient. They accommodated us with "regular fare" rather than "so much chocolate" Food was excellent. Only negatives: uncomfortable chairs and we had a "tiny" table. One of the nicest high teas in Southern California.

I had a friend recommend this place and decided to take my mother and friend. We went on a Sunday at 1pm. The place was half empty and we were seated immediately. It is a cute setup…yes, but not worth $60 a person. The devonshire cream and mimosas were the best part of the experience. I thought the tray of sandwiches was ok, but nothing special. We had to wait for service to have our tea poured and mimosas filled. I spent most of the brunch with my glasses half empty. I thought service should have been better!!! I would save the $60 a person and spend on a nicer brunch anywhere else honestly!
