My family and I went to celebrate my birthday. We did Sunday’s chocolate tea. My daughters loved the chocolate fountain. The dessert table looked beautiful and they were all very tasty. Our server was amazing, they brought me out a birthday dessert it was beautiful and tasted even better. The scones are delicious. Hands down our favorite finger sandwich was the pesto shrimp. As far as the teas the palm court was our favorite. The ambiance, the views, the piano music it all made for a very lovely afternoon. Highly recommend!
Went with my Mom. The hotel is gorgeous and the restaurant was lovely. We had the high tea and it was wonderful. Beautiful presentation and tasty. We would definitely go again.
My daughter and I took my Mom for her 90th birthday celebration. We had a wonderful Afternoon Tea Service at the Lobby Lounge. The service was impeccable, friendly and accommodating to our needs, which made for a such a pleasant experience. And the food, tea and sparkling wine were amazing! It was an unforgettable celebration for my Mom! Thank you to Jenny and the rest of the staff for taking such good care of her!
I really enjoyed the beautiful gardens and interior design. Service all-around is friendly and helpful from the valet, shopkeepers, and dining staff. I enjoyed the finger sandwiches at tea and presentation is amazing! The scones and desserts are average, but the variety of desserts is lovely plus the edible flowers and gold leaf are nice touches. Food at the Tap Room was not good at all. Wagyu sliders were not flavorful and we returned the Lobster corn dogs because they taste like frozen fish balls. We traded for the Chicken Katsu fries which were very salty. At least the atmosphere and service was very good.
The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent. There was someone playing the piano beautifully. We went there for my mother's birthday and they gave her a little cake with a candle. It was very thoughtful for them. The food was very good and surprisingly filling. We had green tea and it was very delicious. It's casual, but it's classy. Highly recommended.
Absolutely pleased with the Langham Afternoon Tea service! Our server Doris was wonderful and made my birthday celebration very special. Highly recommend afternoon tea on Sunday if you’re a chocolate lover.
We enjoyed Tea at The Lobby Lounge , we had a 12:00 reservation and were the only people in the lounge until about 1:30. A bit confusing to check in and get seated but the view was beautiful from the large windows and the service was prompt. We ordered the Vanilla Rooibos tea, it was very nice. The finger sandwiches were tasty, scones, real clotted cream and jam were delightful, The selection of French pastries were beautifully displayed with the Raspberry macarons and the petite cream brûlée being my favorite. That being said, The Lobby Lounge is a bit tired and in need of updating , some of the upholstery was “well worn” It seemed some serving utensils were missing from the table settings making it awkward to put sugar in your tea and spoon the clotted cream on your scones. All in all a very relaxing afternoon with fantastic views, tasty treats and nice service.
We were so exited to try this highly reviewed and historic landmark tea! The Chocolate Tea is just that - ONLY chocolate! For an afternoon meal - you need something to eat besides sugar! The few mini sandwiches were dried out and not at all tasty. The service was slow and inattentive. For the finale, they ran out of strawberries to dip in the chocolate fountain - the one special item in the entire menu we were saving for "dessert!" When complaining, the attitude was unresponsive. For $59/person - a complete rip-off!
It was for my birthday and overall my experience was not good. I was really looking forward to this 'High tea' with my friends. The service at the beginning was attentive and went downhill from there as they had more people come in. The food was very mediocre given the price as well as the location. Most of the sandwiches were dried out. I put in during my reservation that its for a special occasion, birthday..no one bothered to wish or provide a cake or candle to acknowledge the event, Overall very Poor.
We had a 4:00 reserv. Pianist was packing up, bread was dry, 2 teas were “sold out”, server kept saying how busy she was, etc. disappointed to say the least. I’ve been here before but not sure I’ll return.
The service is great, but the afternoon tea tastes so so.
If you have to bring someone from out of town for a really nice experience on the weekend, consider coming to the Langham for tea. The weekend high tea is an enjoyable experience. Note, it is a bit expensive but you will remember the time versus spending the same amount on an expensive steak dinner or the like.
Beautiful, relaxing tea. The English Flower blend was so soothing.
The Langham and their Lobby Lounge are lovely settings and worth a drive. The afternoon tea service was nice but not outstanding. The food, tea and champagne were delicious. However, the service was mixed. The hostess was nice but seemed like we interrupted her work when we arrived. We did not get the original food we ordered. The table setting was nice but the water in the flower vases was cloudy/dirty and the some of the "clean" dishes at the chocolate fountain had food scraps on them. Nothing major but for the price and ambiance, these service elements seemed unusual and easy to fix.
Chocolate tea on Sundays is heavenly! My whole family loved it!
It was yet again another fabulous experience at the Langham Lobby Lounge afternoon tea. The teas we order were all very enjoyable and the afternoon tea food selections were also good. I love the piano playing in the background....adds a nice touch to the ambiance. Our hostess for the day was awesome and we love the fact that when our teas have turned cold, she would always make sure to serve us a HOT cup every time....we loved that!!! Thank you for an exquisite time!
Although I had made my reservation for afternoon tea a week in advance and it had been confirmed over the phone the day before, they were not ready for us when we arrived on time. The lounge was very quiet, with only a couple of other diners, do it wasn't as if they had had to wait for someone to vacate our table before setting it up. I was annoyed that we had to wait a few minutes while they did so. I also had indicated when making the reservation that I was there to celebrate a birthday. Nothing was done to acknowledge that. I had planned to buy champagne to make a toast, but that was never offered. All in all, the service was not up to par.
Really enjoyed my bday celebration here for afternoon high tea with champagne. our server Janie was amazing so helpful and was running a lot of tables on her own. Live piano in the background made it that more enjoyable and romantic. Will go back again!
Always a great tea experience with excellent service, never rushed, and delicious mini foods. The chocolate dessert bar was absolutely delicious.
Pricey. High tea wasn't anything spectacular. The atmosphere was nice with piano playing background.
My friends and I had a lovely time at afternoon tea. We celebrated a birthday with good friends, excellent food, and attentive service. We will come again!
Love the interior decoration of the hotel! Love the architecture of the building!! High-quality service for parking although the price for valet parking should be cheaper.
Very nice place, great atmosphere and service. Absolutely lovely people. Food was a bit disappointing: lackluster flavors and sandwiches on bone-dry bread. The scones and tea were good though.
An elegant spot for afternoon tea. The view is amazing. The tea goodies are tasty. The selections of tea are pretty varied. I go there for afternoon tea at least a couple of times a year. Service was a bit slower than usual . It took three requests before the water I requested finally was delivered. But I will be back the next time I need an elegant afternoon tea experience.
Fiona was a fantastic server and explained our Chocolate experience for afternoon tea. Fantastic! We made so many memories.
We went for tea. The grounds were beautiful, choices for tea were great. Service and food was just ok. Would recommend.
Tea at the Langham was lovely! Everything was perfect - the view, location, service, ambiance, sandwiches, scones, desserts, and tea. We even were served a special treat - a plate of huge chocolate-dipped strawberries with Happy Retirement written in chocolate on the rim of the plate. It was a perfect afternoon!
The service was impeccable, the ambiance perfect, the food excellent, a 10 out of 10!
My friend and I had a wonderful time. The service was excellent. The mood was relaxing and no one rushed us. Felt welcomed and special to celebrate a specific event. Food sampling with tea was perfect and beautifully arranged and prepared.
I was excited to try the tea lunch at the Langham Hotel. My only other experience having tea has been at the Huntington Garden tea room and in comparison, the Langham Hotel fell a little bit short in some respects. To be honest, I was expecting an all you can eat buffet like the Huntington Garden tea room. I was also expecting a wider selection of food items, fresh fruit would have been lovely. There were a few too many pastries in comparison to savory items. This tea experience is definitely more about the tea and less about getting full. The ambiance was wonderful and the hotel itself as well as the grounds are spectacular. Along with good service, this was an experience definitely worth having but I would eat before coming here again.
The tea here was lovely. We celebrated a birthday and the pianist played happy birthday. Utterly charming!
The service was spotty. When they came by, they were wonderful. They were just constantly missing. And since you cannot pour your own tea, it definitely put a damper on the experience.
It was horrible! Early in the day I received a call saying that they'll be having a private event and I won't be able to sit in the usual location. She asked if I wanted to cancel my reservation, I said no, cause my party already took the day off from work and it was just very inconvenient. When I arrived, no one came up to us to seat us till I went to look for a host. When I arrive I notice there was no party of 50 and they had all the seats available! If I had canceled it would have made no sense! They were very unorganized and u professional. They should have called to let me know that the seats were available! Instead I was dreading how the evening would be and if the mothers would hate it. Service as horrible overall!
The perfect place for afternoon tea!
We three girls tried the afternoon tea the past Sunday, it is really good location and decoration! Cozy sofa, light music, kind staff and quite environment! But the most important thing we went for, the food are not that good, the sandwiches bread, the brownies are dry and the sweets are a little hard hard to bite. Just maybe we expect too much~ The tea is not bad btw~
Good atmosphere and the servers were great! The chocolate fountain was tasteful and delicious! Took my mother for a nice afternoon tea and we were both very satisfied.
Our party attended on a Sunday for the afternoon chocolate tea. The food and drinks were phenomenal. However, we were seated at a shorter table with a sofa bench and 2 regular chairs. Those seated at the chairs could not fit their legs under the table and had to sit away from the food. Being nearly 6 feet tall myself, I found this a bit aggravating. There was also a fly in one of our teacups which the waiter replaced after we expresses our concern. Our waiter also lost some points after bringing us the incorrect tea after verifying which ones our party selected. Overall, I would attend again, but at a taller table!
Fantastic afternoon tea service at the Langham Huntington in Pasadena. Excellent variety of teas, endless champagne, and selection of accompaniments. Top that off with a gorgeous view and live pianist, and you have the perfect afternoon tea experience.
Only complaint was their poor disclosure of dining time limit and enforcement of it. Our party of four was told we had to leave because we had reached our time limit and there was another reservation coming in that needed the table. We noted other similar sized tables that had been dining longer were allowed to stay and plenty of other open tables for four or more, but we were asked to leave after a three hour period. It was the only blemish in an otherwise good tea service. If this is a true policy, they should be consistent and treat all their guests the same by enforcing this policy with everyone.
Sandwiches and scones were very tasty. The sweets were made with almond flour (a bit of a healthy choice) and was light and not overly sweet like some of the teas around town.
Plus excellent service and beautiful garden view, a delightful experience! Highly recommend and worth the drive.
Our celebration at The Langham, Pasadena was perfection. It is the most authentic Afternoon Tea I have found in the US. We had a beautiful view of the gardens. My only grumble was that the service was a bit slow (but they were busy) my friend asked for a glass of water with lemon before we ordered...we waited at least 15 minutes before another waitress took that order again. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I will be definitely returning.
Loved it! Best afternoon tea locally. Will be back w anyone willing to have tea w me.
