   Came here for my birthday with my family. My husband and I have stayed at The Langham for several anniversary celebrations and always fit in the Tea. This is the epitome of what afternoon Tea should be. The Piano player added to the ambiance. Highly recommend!!!

   It was VERY loud. Our server placed our tea pots on a table quite far from us and then never returned, so we were forced to get up over and over to refill our own tea (which you think would be easy, but now I understand why they have waitstaff; those things are HOT…and heavy!). She then tagged on a “20% Service Charge” to our bill, which may have been automatic, but with only 4 people at our table, that seems excessive…especially when there was NO service! The total cost for our tea (with no bells and whistles, add on’s, or upgrades) was $398.93. Oh! And mid-way through our experience, the manager came over to tell us that they would be setting up a large event on the upper floor, where we were seated. I offered to move to one of the open tables on the lower floor and he declined, saying “we would not be in the way.” Ha! The chaos BEFORE they started setting up for this party was overwhelming, but during was unbelievable. The experience was a far cry from when The Ritz was in charge. We won’t be returning.

   I love tea at the Langham property. From the moment valet receives your car to taking in the beauty of the lobby and grounds, to the Lobby Lounge one is ready to sit and enjoy high tea with the harpist and lovely tea service. It is truly a tea I enjoy often.

   Totally disappointed. We didn’t even get to see or eat the food because the server basically neglected us for an hour and somehow our food was given to another table. We were patient for an entire hour knowing it would be a busy Mother’s Day. But when we saw people being given their tiered tea snacks when they had come long after we had arrived we decided to just leave. The entire time I was even the one pouring the tea for my table when it was suppose to be the server. We felt very neglected. The ambiance was great but the service extremely poor. Luckily we actually ate before the “afternoon tea”, otherwise we would have been extremely hangry. Probably the worst tea service I have ever experienced and I actually have afternoon tea pretty regularly. Just be aware before choosing to spend your money and time here.

   Our table was pretty close to the staff access side entry. Would have been nice to have a curtain or something to block the view of it. While it was nice to have the staff pour the tea, i would have liked my tea closer to the table where i can reach for it when the staff are busy. could also have use a bag holder/basket as well. Overall, property is nice, staff is nice, but have been here many times and not seeing much improvement.

    An absolutely delightful experience. Jen provided excellent service. High quality teas, and a wide variety of them. Delicate china, lovely table settings, yet still comfortable and inviting. We had a gorgeous view of the cherry blossoms and gardens. The sandwiches, scones & pastries were exquisite-salmon & chicken salad especially so. The fresh made scones with Devon cream were beyond delicious.

    I came from Japan. When I went three years ago, I told them I was going to celebrate Mother's Day, so it was the week before Mother's Day, but they gave me a wonderful service. I told you in advance this time, but it was a little disappointing that there was nothing in particular.

    It was lovely. Food was lovely to look at, the room and views were lovely, a harp player played lovely music. Having been to many tea houses in the greater Los Angeles area that charge a similar price for afternoon tea we considered this a great afternoon and a “best place for tea.” We really liked our servers however since the room was so busy when we arrived it did take quite a while to get our tea. Our warm scones came a good 5-10 minutes before our tea which was not ideal. (Honestly I fault the house, not our servers, for not having enough help on a busy Sunday afternoon.) Once we got our tea the servers came by quite regularly to refill our cups. They were friendly and easily answered any questions we had about the menu and allergies. We were a party of 5 and look forward to going back again soon.

    The food was very good just sparse, compared to other high teas, especially since the price was much more.I would have preferred more savory items over desserts. Unfortunately the server quit pouring the tea and never gave us water or spoons for the cream, so I would have preferred to tip my own percentage versus forced to tip 20%. A Self parking option would be nice.

    Dined the second time here for my brother and my birthdays. Ambience is great. There could be bit more refined desserts and tea stand like the afternoon teas in five star hotels in Asia. Would be great to have better quality champagne in the package and iced milk tea and coffee options. Overall, Langham Pasadena still has the best afternoon tea in LA.

    I am thinking of our experience at the afternoon tea at the Langham in London. Sadly, this does not compare. First, we were a party of six. As we were being seated, we were told that for our size group, we needed to pick only THREE pots of tea. EVERY other time we have had our own individual tea pot. The tea pots were kept on a table beside us. The wait staff would then fill our cups. The problem was that there were not enough servers, so our cups were rarely refilled, so we had to keep getting up and down to serve ourselves. It would make more sense to have a table large enough (for six) where the tea pots could be on the table. The food was fine. However, there should have been at least one more savory offered. The cakes looked beautiful, but they were too sweet to eat. Overall, we were very disappointed.

    Beautiful Hotel and Tea presentation was very nice!! But we were disappointed in the service. The gal who seated us was very nice but our actual server could of been better. A 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill so I don't know if they think they dont have to be very good. Just a little disappointed!

    Our reservation was at 2:15 and we didn't get seated until 2:40pm. And they place in a small table next to the exit. While other guests were seated on the main dining area. So we got less service from our hostess and we need call her attention to pour us more tea. $75 per person for few mediocre sandwich and cold tea is definetly not worth it.

    Overall it was nice to have something special to do for Easter Sunday, but the ceremony was lacking. Full disclosure, I’ve been to many afternoon teas in London, so I have a huge bias, but the portion of food was rather small for the adults, kids pb&j was cute, but it was pb&j, the scones had too much baking soda, and the sweets were a nice treat and done very well. The tea was made ahead of time and waiting in pitchers, and there were three options, mint/chamomile, jasmine, or english breakfast. I imagine the establishment isn’t prepared to serve individual loose leaf tea to so many people as this is a special event, but it did seem to take away from the specialness of the tea to be limited in choice and that it was made ahead of time. The harpist was lovely. The chocolate fountain was fun for the kids. The grounds were okay to walk around afterwards. Overall I think a lovely option, but not as special as the price would indicate.

    The hotel and surroundings are beautiful and well kept. We went for Easter tea as a special occasion for a birthday as well. The first cup of tea was cold. The tea sandwiches were OK, nothing outstanding. The deserts were excellent. The service was not good. They never cleared any plates off the table the whole time we were there. They were literally stacked in the middle of the table and no one took them away? They automatically add a 20% tip for service that is worth 10% maybe. On a $95 pp tab, that’s way too much.

    Did not honor my 14 year old son’s dietary restrictions yet charged him full amount and he is super hungry. Tea was tepid and waitstaff never cleared plates. Dessert bar was nice but unattended to-needed to be restocked with fruit. I am always happy to spend but $500+ for that experience, never to repeat. I also never give reviews but i felt the need to due to how lackluster it was. My 12 year old daughter wanted water while waiting 30+ for valet and no one would provide or even sell us water. What an incredible disappointment!!

    Too much sweets. Need more sandwiches and scones. Rather have all you can eat sandwiches and scones vs sweets. All that sugar. Can take it or leave it. Don't need all that sweets. More like a dessert buffet luncheon. Server wouldn't accommodate.

    The venue was quite attractive but the view was limited except for a few of the tables. The sandwiches were decent, but you only got four small ones per person. I enjoyed the scones and toppings and the selection of teas and pastries. They add on a 20% gratuity. I felt that for the price, the food could have been better and more plentiful, especially the savory items.

    My daughters and I had the best time at tea this is such a beautiful hotel. We were lucky enough to be one of the first to try the new spring menu that has come out. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding I never had to wait for someone to fill my cup of tea or ask if I needed anything, everyone was kind to my daughters and very welcoming! Plus valet, charged my car for me without me even having to ask ! It was a cool windy day and when I got in my car they had the heater on. They assisted me with the stroller as well honestly we had the best day and it was much needed. If I could give 1000 stars I would. We were able to take beautiful pictures and enjoy a beautiful table, set up with such detailed, pastries and sandwiches. They even had flowers on them. We got a delicious tea that change colors when you added a lemon to it. The girl playing the harp with my favorite. She was playing a lot of my favorite songs. I joked with my daughter and told her I bet we were the only people who knew what songs she was playing because they weren’t your normal songs you would hear on the radio like Karol G. I could go on and on but I love this place and I will continue coming back with my family. My mother brought me here when I was small and my kids will bring their kids. It’ll be a family tradition because of how great we are always treated. Thank you.

    Went for afternoon tea, my first time back since the pandemic. While the ambiance is still peaceful and serene the food has changed a lot. The portions are very limited (only 4-5 miniature sandwiches (some only 1 inch across circular style) and to get more is $20, it used to be you could request extras no charge. I had the gluten free version and the scone and desserts were mediocre at best. I used to love it here but not worth the price anywhere. What a loss.

    We love The Langham because it is lovely, historic, and the grounds are superb. I realize for their tea, that a 20% "service fee" is automatic. Our service left a whole lot to be desired. We could barely get our server to notice us. I wanted a tea refill and it took more than 1/2 hour to get the attention of our server. I noticed in looking around the room that they all (the servers) were more interested in paying attention to all other tasks other that checking in on their tables. They were not all that busy either. Not once did we get asked if everything was okay. It took forever to close out our bill. I think because they have a guaranteed 20% tip (not optional for the customer)... there is no effort put into service. Other than that it was a lovely place to celebrate my daughters birthday.

    Celebrated a friend’s birthday. Tea service included a nice selection of scones, tea sandwiches & sweets. Teacups we’re always full. We opted for a glass of champagne to toast the birthday girl. A beautiful setting inside a historical location.
