View Private Dining DetailsFood was fantastic; went for Easter brunch and we were one of the first patrons of the day. Soon, the place was filled. Very hipster vibe, but not exclusive. We had excellent service and of note...the bloody mary bar was off the charts. Blueberry pancakes were the best I've ever had. Loved it.
There was no one in there and yet it took over an hour to get our food. The service was terrible; constantly had empty drinks, empty water, just really not attentive at all. Our food came out in waves - a couple people getting their meals, 3-4 minutes going by, and a couple more would come out, and repeat. The atmosphere put us to sleep and the decor is old and tired looking.
Restaurant claimed we " no showed" after seating us in there lounge area.. service from wait staff was great.. food was good.. disappointed in hostess for putting a demerit on my opentable record
Celebrating a birthday..Everything was wonderful..would highly recommend 👍👍
We went to Living Room to support the GBFB Brunch — and were very happy to do so at a new place. Loved the little bbq brush gift, nice touch, but it took 2+ hours to start eating, after lukewarm tea (just hot water and a bag!) for an hour. Food was cold, portions small, waiter apologetic about a new chef, but throw the 4 of us a bone after 2 hours — maybe bring the fruit salad we ordered? It couldn’t have been difficult to bring first, instead of the very end (when we had asked for the check). Just not a good experience, won’t be returning as there’s lots of places for brunch & many ways to support a favorite charity.
The ambience was very good, but the food was quite average. Tremendous variety without anything being really great. I would recommend this place for the cocktails which were very good and for intimate nooks for couples or small groups to gather. But not a great dinner location if that is what you are there for.
We were very pleased with the ambience, the service and the food but would have chosen a different night than Trivia night, had we known. Otherwise, it was great. Monika Kratzmann
My friends and I came for a Birthday brunch, and the menu was awesome. The quality of service and food was amazing. I came in the past for my birthday and enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I love the food. It was amazing, i would definitely recommend the chicken and waffles! 😁
I had the Momos and flatbread. Both were yummy to my tummy. It was quiet but I imagine when crowded this place is cool. Pick the coaches near the cool oven-like fireplace. If only everyone's living room was so inviting.
Very friendly waitstaff and comfortable dining experience.
Had some apps and drinks before a concert and it was nice and chill while still being a short walk away from the garden. No need to fight the crowds - stop in here for some food and drinks.. quite the variety! Reasonable prices as well.
Good quick dinner. Atmosphere great-able to get a table Saturday night for dinner. Food tasty. Nice place to catch up with the family
Fantastic food - so key you guys serve breakfast all day!
It was wonderful. The food was fresh and well prepared. Our kids loved the buttermilk pancakes with homemade syrup. I have the grass fed burger and it was awesome! It's a lovely little spot and outside has a great view. Needs some updates to the decor and 86 the random music. I would for sure go back and the few enhancements would make it a gen!
Really two different types of places in one depending on when you go. Early Sunday evening we sat in comfortable soft couches, it was quiet and relaxing. But we were told the place is a vibrant night club scene on Friday/Saturday evenings, live music and lively crowd. We dined tapas style by ordering small dishes from the appetizer menu. Charcuterie/cheese board was excellent, perfect blend of 4 creamy and sharp cheeses plus 4 different meats and lightly toasted and olive oil rubbed baguette. Frites Montreal style (cooked in duck fat) crispy, dusted with parmesan and herbs with an aioli dipping sauce and a malt vinegar dip. Dumplings stuffed with buffalo chicken meat. All delicious, will definitely go again (for the quiet early evening scene).
So-so... food was ok- ambience and decor was dated and worn.
Got the wrong drink... a little underwhelmed
Food was decent, however we went for dinner and the first thing we got was, "I need to see id's". Patio crowd was really drunk and rambunctious. Food was good enough though that I would give it another try.
We had an amazing Father's Day brunch. We came up to Boston to visit our son who is in college and I found out that this restaurant is dog friendly for outdoor dining and took a chance. What a delight. The food and drink selections were great. The service was superb and they could not have made our four legged companions any happier. They had a bowl of water and dog biscuits. We highly recommend it. Looks like it has a vibrant bar scene also, but we were there in the middle of the day. We will be back.
Excellent food and service. We were traveling with a dog and they seated us in a great spot on the patio and were very accommodating. The buffalo chicken dumplings were fantastic and they had a great Bloody Mary bar for brunch. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a cute local spot in the North End.
Definitely can see how this would be a good late night spot. Liked having dinner on couches with friends. Menu is good and the food was really good! Cool place. I imagine twenty-something's love this place on the weekends.
Horrible horrible service. Do not recommend
A great meal and outstanding service.
So we arrived and decided to sit in their main area where the couches and chairs are located versus the dining room. This was especially fun since we brought our 6 year old with us as it's more casual versus the dining room and there are TV's in view. The brunch was fantastic, especially the pancakes and eggs Benedict. Also, they had a bloody mary bar which was great as well.
For a vegetarian - our options were limited. But the MEDITERRANEAN NOSH
and the VEGETARIAN SPICY BLACK BEAN BURGER were just too good. Especially the NOSH. One of the finest Tabbouleh i ever had. Although the falafels were a bit dry - but all in all - the House Made Hummus was amazing.
Highly recommend this place!
Place was dead
Stopped by for brunch on Marathon Monday and were lucky enough to have nice weather so we sat outside! The patio is beautiful and overlooks Christopher Columbus Park. Ordered a bloody mary, which was fine, nothing special. I got the chicken and waffles for brunch and they were DELICIOUS. The cornbread jalapeno waffle went perfectly with the fried chicken, and the syrup was so good. I can't wait to come back and order this again
A little too quiet for a friends birthday brunch, probably due to the snow outside. Our food was so good- I got eggs Benedict and it was perfect. We split the banana bread French toast at the table which was so good.
Had the best birthday dinner here last week! really great atmosphere and the food was to die for. awesome staff. i live in providence but i would gladly take the drive up there to visit again.
Got there right at 11:30am, but were the only people in the place. Didn't seem like they were quite ready to serve people. No one on bar, everything came slow. Food was ultimately yummy, and drinks were fine. Would love to give it another try when they're more ready for customers.
Service was horrid. Food was just ok. Very clean and atmosphere was really unique.
Great place! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone and visit again. The food was great and the service was outstanding. A little noisy on a friday night past 9pm but nothing intolerable.
We were in a get together night. It was nine of us. We had dinner and drinks. The bill was almost 500 with gratuity included.Food was great, drinks were ok but the service was AWFUL.All of us come from the service industry so we kept excusing our sever why every thing was so slow. It was a Wednesday night,we got there at 7:30 it was only a table a 4 that left a little after. So for the remainder of the night it was just our table. The server came and gave us waters and we all ordered a drink each. We had our drinks 30min later (9drinks) but the server also disappeared waiting for the drinks we assumed while we knew the appetizers and those could be put in while waiting. Anyways we were enjoying our time, waiting for the server to show up so we could order more drinks etc at the end we wanted to do desert too but they might not have any cause she didn't offer it and we were tired of waiting around cause it was almost 11 by that time. We needed the check but I had to get up and go look for our server. To be nice I decided to break down the check myself. I wrote in the back of the check the cards last 4 digits and what each had (ex. 5477- 3martinis n steak dinner) after all this I go to her and I told her that to subtract the cash and the rest was on the cards. She replied annoyed ... I quote "oh you didn't write the amounts" I was shocked. Than I asked her a calculator and I was citing the prices to her while she wrote it all down. We left her an extra $100 in cash on top of the $70 gratuity and all it was not deserved because at the end she had messed it all up somehow and charged the wrong amounts.
For someone to make $170 on a Wednesday night with only 1 table I would think is a good deal but not this lady apparently.
I went to the Living Room for new years dinner and I would do it again next year in a heartbeat! Wasn't too crowded for dinner and the new years party was such a blast. Boston New Years parties can get pretty pricey, but new years at The Living Room was inexpensive but super fun.
We had a party of 7 on a Monday before the improv asylum show and everyone loved their food. We had 2 gluten free people in our party and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.
The ambiance was nice and the food was really good
Ended up going on a Saturday instead of Sunday afternoon. The place was very nice and the hostesses were great. The food was good especially the Asian chicken wings. The only problem would be the parking, there's no valet and it took us an hour to finally find a spot to park near by around 7pm.
Everything was amazing! The service, food, were perfect! My friend hadagreatbirthday
I wish I could give this restaurant a better review. The atmosphere is really quite fun and the food was pretty good. However there were only 3 large groups (1 was ours), a total of about 35 people in the restaurant, all the other tables were empty, and still for some reason there was one waitstaff for all 3 large parties. I do want to mention that our waitstaff was great and took as good of care of us as she had time for, but just had absolutely no help.
Drinks took forever and it took quite a while for our waitstaff to find the time to take our order. Once ordered, the food came out very slowly and drinks were slowly refilled, it took about a half an hour for our water glasses to be refilled as well.
As for the food, our appetizers were delicious and for most of us our burgers were delicious, though there were a number of mess up in the orders (which is to be expected with a large party), but a number of the burgers came out very cold.
My main suggestion would be that the manager of the restaurant help out the waitstaff when they see there are at least 35 people for one person to take care of on their own.
The Waffle and Chicken was really good and filling! Also loved the quesadillas!
