Excellent brunch. Enjoyed all the food and desserts. Delicious mimosas
We were going to the spa & decided to stop in for lunch. We had a wonderful time , food was great-fantastic ambience like going back in time to proper dining & surroundings. Our waiter was attentive but allowed us time to chat. Great experience
So terrible, I don't know where to begin! We were 3 friends out for Saturday brunch. Room was almost empty, outdated furnishings and clearly long past its prime. Then it took quite a few minutes for anyone to come over to serve us. We asked for coffee -took about 10 minutes and it was cold. We sent it back. I suggested then that we leave but my friends are very nice and didn't want to make a scene. Next round of coffee was better, hot and decent flavour so we decided to give the place a chance. In the meantime another group of 3 arrived and they must have been known to the servers as they got a lot of attention. Finally server came over and took our food order. It took at least 30 minutes for the food to finally come and the table that arrived after us was served many minutes prior to us. Scrambled eggs were cold and so yellow they must have been powdered, toast was cold, no bacon as ordered, no breakfast potatoes as promised on the menu. That was finally enough for my friends to agree we would leave. The waiter was on his way to our table with a bowl of french fries (this is what they meant by breakfast potatoes I guess) and a plate of cold dry looking bacon and seemed surprised we were leaving. We listed all the problems we had encountered from the moment we arrived; he seemed genuinely surprised. I told the hostess at the door why we were leaving; she offered to get the Manager and I told her not to bother; we had already wasted 90 minutes of our time that we would never get back, and we were still hungry! All I can say is the Windsor Arms has clearly gone downhill. And it is sad, because the Courtyard Cafe used to be a fabulous place to eat. Don't go!
Best grilled calamari that I've ever had.
The table service was exceptional.
Winterlicious was a good introduction to your venue.
A really cool spot that we didn't know existed until recently. A beautiful boutique experience, great rooms and seating, very good service.
The evening at the living room was amazing the atmosphere to the food and the wine.
It was a great night
Not to happy with the service we waited for your main dish for about an hour.
Every year I go for winterlicious to Living room . This year it wasn't like before. Food was just OK, not bad. Dining room was changed , looks like a bar now with a very limited dining section. Room was freezing cold. It might be because of winterlicious lunch. It is sad to see my favorite place like that.
Terrible food and slow service.
Horrible experience. The restaurant overbooked what the kitchen could handle - the waitress even told us this. Made the reservation a week in advance. The day before out lunch they call to tell me the menu is the Winterlicious fixed menu. When i asked how I was to know the full menu was not available they said "we are calling you". We waited 1 hour for our mains and the risotto was inedible.
Don't waste your time or money
Service was very slow....I think the kitchen was overwhelmed with Brunch, Lunch and Winterlicious.
Actually, went to the Windsor Arms Hotel for a Kosher Meal. I was surprised that the Windsor Arms Hotel actually had a Kosher Restaurant.
I was also surprised that the Courtyard Café no longer serves dinner.
Only Sunday Brunch.
In the Living Room Restaurant , you are offered a Fixed Price 3 Course Dinner for $75.00.
If you want a steak, it's an extra $15.00.
If you want a burger, you subtract $10.00.
No a la carte.
The atmosphere is upscale.
The Server brings you the cutlery wrapped in a napkin and sealed with a kosher emblem.
I think you get 2 knives, 3 forks and 2 spoons, all wrapped up.
The food is decent if not quite spectacular.
With the Park Hyatt closed, this is the only upscale kosher restaurant in Downtown Toronto.
I would come back here, I wanted kosher food in an upscale environment.
The turkey was tasteless. There were no lemons provided with the oysters until asked. There was no horseradish provided with the roast beef until asked. The crab legs were not sufficiently cracked. I asked for a nut cracker to remedy this issue and it took the waiter 15 minutes to find a cracker. I suspect there was only one in the dining room that was making its rounds.
My water glass was dirty. I had to request a clean glass. The cutlery was removed by the wait staff as soon as I left my chair to select another course. No cutlery was provided with the plates. I had to request a new set and had to ask the wait staff to not clear the knife & fork. There was a lack of oversight and management of the buffet from the head waiter.
The ladies washroom was filthy. Many of the toilets had not been properly flushed and paper towels were left on the floor. There should have been a staff member checking to ensure the washroom was clean and the toilets flushed.
All in all my Christmas dinner was a disappointment! I expected elegance and better quality food. It was certainly not worth the $100.
Very attentive staff. The portions were a good size. Wine list was extensive. I found the dressing too bland for the Cobb salad but the oysters were delicious.
This restaurant could use some 'sprucing up' with regards to attention to detail/cleanliness.
There were alot of crumbs on the floor and on the windowsill adjoining our table. The restaurant wasn't busy so I sensed they had been there for awhile. When our waiter noticed them he reached across me to try to wipe them up. He also offered me a soup Spoon from inside his apron :(
Perfect food, service and ambiance. Will definitely go back.
Great food, friendly service and a nice atmosphere
Went here for lunch with my GF for summerlicious 2017. My expectations were low and I they were met. Lunch took over an hour - which is fine on a weekend but on a Monday, I need to get back to work. Service was slow to say the least. The food was decent I guess. Had the calamari which was rubbery as an app. The main was the best course though the timing of it from the kitchen perspective could have been better as parts of it were colder than others which is flat out disappointing. The creme brulee was literally directly out of the fridge - they must have put it in the microwave or something to heat it up a bit but the custard was as cold as milk from the fridge. Overall - I thought it was over priced and service was very slow. I have no inclination to ever return.
Excellent location for a special outing. I loved that there were veg/vegan options, as well as fish. We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evening there. We didn't know the Summerlicious program was on- might be wise to tell people when they book so they know the menu is somewhat more limited.
We ate at the bar on Sunday and did not have the same experience. We waited 45 mins for our burgers and the waiter didn't even apologize. Very disappointing service and meal.
My first time at Windsors Arms. Most charming place. Service was excellent at The Living Room and truly enjoyed the summerlicious lunch.
Delicious summerlicious lunch. Great service except for hostess who gave us a persnickety response when we said we were there for lunch, and replied "no, you're here for summerlicious". Isn't a meal around noon considered lunch? Was not impressed and definitely left a poor first impression. Thankfully food was good, portions generous and service in restaurant excellent.
Good buffet in a wonderful location. Had fresh oysters and great desserts.
THE ENVIRONMENT IS VERY NICE AND STYLISH, THE FOOD IS GREAT AND FAST , THE SERVICE IS POLITE AND PROFESSOR. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT!
I booked a birthday lunch at the Living Room. The service was very slow and the food was cold when it arrived after an hour long wait. I won't be back.
It has been years since I visited the Cafe. We invited some European. Visitors for the Sunday brunch. They were blown away by the ambiance, the selection and quality of the brunch. Comparable to some of the classic hotel European places they had visited in France.
We were so pleased they were so happy with our choice. His Cafe is indeed a hidden gem for a buffet brunch
Worst service I've ever experienced. Food came out incorrectly took an hour for meal when the restaurant was empty. Vegan options on the menu were unavailable
A schizophrenic experience - service and ambience good, date's meal (steak) excellent, my meal virtually inedible - vegan tempe steak that could be mistaken for a stale piece of bread. Truffles that turned out to be solid chocolate with a sauce that made them virtually inedible because they could not be cut with a knife and had to be picked up by hand with the sauce running on the fingers. Let's be diplomatic and just say my system has not yet recovered two days later.
We went for. Winterlicious . Amazing food and ambiance. Service is great .
Completely outraged at the service level we received at The Livingroom. We were seated in a very tight spot instead of one of the more spacious, less noisy location. It took 15 minutes before a waiter signaled to our designated that we had not been served, and another 10 before he came to our table. The waiter didn't say a word, just looked at us with his note pad which prompted us to give our order. After waiting another 20 minutes to get our appetizer, entirely wrong items were brought to us. Not only did waiter not apologize, he simply didn't say anything at all. At this time we left since this entire experience was not with the $100+ meal.
Never have I ever been treated which such a lack of respect, especially at a highly recommended restaurant.
Complete waste of our time! Strongly do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
When on line reservations were made a week in advance, I was not aware that there was going to be a Winterlicious menu. I didn't find out until the staff called to confirm my reservation a few hours prior to our seating. Not knowing what the Winterlicious menu was offering and not being able to look for another restaurant in that short time, my spouse and I headed down to the restaurant. The Winterlicious was a fixed price and the portions were small. We were left hungry after the meal. I also requested on line a slice of chocolate cheese cake with a birthday candle. That never happened and I wasn't in the mood to remind the server. Otherwise, the ambience was decent and if you arrive early enough (i.e. 6:30 pm on a Friday), there is metered street level parking on Sultan Street for approximately 5 vehicles.
We were treated like second class citizens by the concierge. They changed our reservation from 12:30 to 1:30 which meant we got the last seating. As a result, several items were no longer available, some were stale and others looked picked over. The only positive was the wait staff. Our waiter, an English guy, was amazing, as were the busser and water girl, who were always nearby, to clear our plates and top up our drinks.
We where looking forward to the meal. We thought the portions where small for the price we paid. The soup was weak, little veggies, the beef hanger steak, was tough and the pumpkin brulee was weak on flavour.
We went for Winterlicious 2017 at lunch time. Had the tone set by beautiful bread and butter that we couldnt leave alone. The salad imaginative and tasty. Fish and chips Unbelievable ! The batter crisp and airy in your mouth, shoestring chips were actually still warm when delivered. Unfortunately the dish was marred by poorly drained fish that left a small pool of grease on my plate. Dessert was pumpkin creme Brule that was delicious.
Definitely worth the visit.
I have not visited the place for a while and a bit dismayed to find half the bldg was made to condos leaving a very small area for hotel/eatery. It has lost its appeal due to the suffocating remaining space. Restaurant is elegant (as it was and should be), but the reception in small front was a bit disconnected. Staff is courteous and attentive but service was very slow. Food is mediocre for the price! Minestrone soup tasted like Campbell's canned soup (sorry but true), luke warm too! Main course/desserts just a tad better. Good presentation but taste was just ok. Bathroom is on the 2nd floor accessible via slow and dated elevator. Overall a fancy name and elegant restaurant. Not bad for a quiet time but price/food not compatible.
The service we received was abysmal. The lowlights include: being ignored by the servers when we arrived, over half the menu was unavailable - this was not made clear at the outset so ordering became rather laborious, waiting 90 minutes for our entrees to be served only to have four of the five plates emerge from the kitchen. The fifth plate did eventually make it out...15 minutes later. There was no apology, explanation or acknowledgement of the poor service in general. This restaurant is the definition of riding on the coattails of its name. It was a disappointment on many levels but perhaps the most egregious is that this dinner was our family Christmas dinner.
The dinner was a Christmas dinner; the music was quite loud and they played Abba ( not sure why this venue for Christmas day; servers pleasant but not trained to the level expected at the WIndsor Arms; after finishing a bottle of Ripasso Valpolechlo we ordered 3 glasses of the same wine. We felt they were not quite "right" so asked to return them. The employee said we should replace them and we received them - they also seemed off and then the employee started to explain that they needed to breath; in the end too much effort for the 3 glasses -- we left them and paid for them along with the rest of the bill. Not a memorable evening and not one we expected from the Windsor Arms
Absolutely stunning - atmosphere was conducive to a business meeting, food was exceptional, service was first-rate. Recommend this restaurant for fine dining and for bringing clients for meetings.
We very much enjoyed our dining experience. The one suggestion I would make is regarding dessert. For such a high priced meal, one wold think the desserts would be original, varied, and delectable. I have eaten much better desserts, delicious and beautifully served, at more simple and inexpensive restaurants.
Bad food, bad service, bad management, they don't even deserve a half of the star. What a wast of my time to continue with my comments . Highly not recommend to anyone eat there, I rather donate my money to the good cost.
An excellent venue for a quit upscale dinner. The service was impeccable and the food choices were great for us - there were two vegans and one non-vegan dining together and the menu satisfied all three with both vegan and non-vegan choices. Lovely ambience, quiet, well-appointed, and the staff were all very attentive.
