The Little Tuna Ratings and Reviews
Lunch a few weeks ago was much better than dinner this last visit. We ordered from the regular menu not the early specials. Lobster bisque soup was good May be needed a touch of sherry to pizzaz it. The entree choices were fair. The salmon sweet potato chutney was ok but for $27.99 the portion was very small. Sweet potato mash is always good. Coffee was terrible and this was a fresh pot. Seems that many restaurants today just can not serve a drinkable cup of coffee. For dinner I would hesitate. Lunch though was worthwhile.
Not our first time so obviously we love it. We went with friends for the early dinner. 3 courses under $20 and a byob, you can't beat it! And it's just as good as their regular menu just not as many options. We lingered afterwards talking and they didnt bother us to leave even when they were closing. Service was good, food was excellent, overall wonderful experience.
Food was good - there just wasn't anything creative or memorable about the meal itself. Our waitress was a lot of fun and carried the evening well. Vegetable selection was the usual and unexciting squash and zucchini. I asked for spinach and what they served was definitely from a frozen box - and no sauce to accompany. Salmon good (but Carrabbas makes it better), but did not match the tasty/spicy description of the menu or from the waitress. Potstickers for appetizers were the hit of the day. That should tell you something. Desserts (apple cobbler) were generic. Now, I know it was Thursday evening, but you either perform to expectations for 7 days or you close!
The Little Tuna has made itself a known presence in the quaint town of Haddonfield. The food is spectacular the atmosphere is comfortable and romantic, it's hospitality couldn't be better. Where restaurants seem to deter overtime, The Little Tuna seems to age like fine wine. Great night our for any occasion.
after arriving 20 minutes early for a 4:30pm reservation, the hostess chose to seat us by the window and rudly asked if we could be finished by 6pm because they would need the table. we didn't ask to be seated by the window and what would've happened if we arrived on time instead of early? would we have been pushed out by 6pm? I just didn't understand that thought process and was slightly bothered at the fact that we arrived early and were already pushed out the door.
Went on a Wednesday for early dinner (5pm), wasn't very busy which was nice. Service was great, most of the food was very good with 1 small exception; i had lobster ravioli with scallops and the scallops were overcooked. It's a little nit picky of me but i happened to notice because I've order scallops at many different places and this was probably one of the few times i didn't care much for them. It could've been a fluke, i'd definitely go back!
First time and unfortunately the last. Went with my wife for dinner. We shared the appetizer special, buffalo calamari. The portion was definitely large enough, but had very very little buffalo sauce so I asked for some marina. It wasn't great, but not bad either. I had the broiled shrimp with crabmeat. The shrimp were just that, very small, but worse than that it was extremely dry and bland. My wife had the wasabi tuna. She said dry as well and that the vegetables were like they were from a cafeteria. The price was mid-range. Everything came to approximately $87. For the price the food didn't come close to measuring up. If your charging $30 for an entree the quality should be better!!
The Little Tuna is a charming smaller restaurant. We had a delicious spinach-artichoke appetizer. The chicken gumbo soup had a "kick" to it. My friend said her lobster bisque could have used some more sherry & less cream. She said her crab cakes that were cooked golden brown were delicious.
I had a tasty N.Y. Sirloin steak cooked med-well just as I ordered with nice garlic mashed potatoes and carrots. We shared a homemade apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream & caramel syrup for dessert which was quite good. The coffee was bitter though.
Our server was friendly and my friend and I were able to take our time and relax during our dinner here. We bought our own wine since this is a BYOB restaurant.
We recently had a get together of old friends when one gal was visiting from out of state. We chose Little Tuna because it was centrally located. This was a great choice for our luncheon!
The menu was fabulous...I had the spinach salad with pistachio grilled salmon & I was not diasppointed in the freshness & creative preparation. Our waitress was patient as we chatted away before ordering! Thankfully the 7 of us were seated away from the other diners:) She also obliged us with taking our photo. We shared an amazing dessert (apple cobbler with ice cream) before parting ways. A memorable experience on Tuesday June 20, 2017.
We visited Little Tuna for Father's Day. We went for lunch. The food was tasty - not over the top, but yummy. The pricing was perfect for lunch. The salad had a little too much dressing on it - better to just put a bit on the table for all to share, and though a little thing - I didn't care for the way the mashed potatoes came out on the plate in a "scoop".
The Little Tuna was a delicious treat - it was quiet, and perfect for a friend and I to catch up! We enjoyed the extremely affordable 3 course early evening meal. I highly recommend it! I had lobster bisque that was perfect - lots of lobster and amazing flavor, mixed greens salad, and perfectly cooked salmon in a teriyaki glaze. Delicious! I will be back.
