This was my second time at the restaurant. We brought friends who were visiting from Montreal. They, along with my husband enjoyed their meals. We all had fish dishes: halibut, fish of the day with the lobster side. I was the only one who had the skate dish. The skate was incredibly salty and only ate a few bites. No, I did not ask for another dish, which I am sure would have been provided. Since the other three people were eating already I did not want to have them wait.....
I have had skate at other restaurants and have not had that experience.

Thank you for the opportunity to review your very fine establishment.

Fantastic evening at Little Owl!
Our first time there, but definitely/hopefully not our last. The food was beyond good. Super delicious. And everyone--from the person who checked us in, to the waiters, etc, was so nice, friendly and relaxed. The place is cosy, as in tiny, but it makes it intimate and beautiful. The whole thing feels so special. Been trying to get in for a while-- think there may have been a last minute cancelation and we got the opening. In any case, couldn't have loved the whole experience more!

A lovely restaurant which is always on our list when we visit New York. Bookings are a must as this place is tiny but packs a punch with a fabulous menu and friendly service. Favourite dishes include the meatball sliders, the Brussels sprouts and the beignets for dessert.

The Little Owl tries hard; winding amongst the small tables in a crowded environment, our server was very hard working and attentive amidst an environment that was less than encouraging. I chose it as a spot to meet a good friend for a pre-theatre Brunch. NOT a good choice---noise level was horrific. Bacon very good, however.

Had a very enjoyable brunch a Little Owl. They were running late with our reserved table and treated us to a round of prosecco - very nice touch. Room is cozy and lively. Service is super-friendly and efficient. Brunch dishes were great especially the chilaquiles and surf n turf tacos!

We were told by a friend to not miss The Little Owl on our trip to NY. I'm glad we didn't! It was quaint, delicious and the staff was wonderful. The risotto was divine and the pear crips to finish was heaven. A great little gem of a restaurant and it will definitely be on our list next time we visit.

Always love the Little Owl, great ambiance + delicious food, locally sourced and creative menu. The beignets were a wonderful way to start the meal as a brunch app, donut hole pillows resting in Nutella, dotted with raspberry jam - -yum! We had a reservation, were seated, and then some confusion about who was waiting on us -- we waited as the table next to us was seated after, and served before our order was taken. As soon as our waitress/waiter (tagteam) took our order, it was pretty smooth sailing, although we had to ask for coffee refill a few times. I've never had service issues before, so I'm assuming they were training someone new? I'll be back again - usually nothing short of a delightful and delicious brunch!

We tried to have dinner here a while back but didn’t have reservations. So this time I didn’t make the same mistake and made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. Definitely pleased with the restaurant. Food and ambiance was amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

Cosy, delightful, innovative, great restaurant. very much enjoyed the whole fish, my dinner companion had artic char, which was also great. the pear cider excellent, although pricey.
had the butternut squash with pesto to see what it was like, very good, but oily, but then pesto is oily. sardines starter was excellent, with lettuce underneath, sort of like a cesar salad with sardines on top.
only disappointment was gumbo, being from louisiana, i know good gumbo, this was not.

Great food with no fuss. One of the best eggplant parmigiana in NYC. Doesn't matter if you order just appetizers, the Little Owl only seems to care that you enjoy their food.

The Little Owl never disappoints. A great spot to take an out-of-town guest to give them that West Village feel. Reservations can be tough to get, but not at lunch.

Charming, small Village bistro. Food was outstanding, particularly the Brussels sprouts. Our experience was dimmed somewhat by an extremely loud man sitting next to us; the tables are very close. I had the sausage and peppers - tasted like homemade sausage - beautifully done. My husband had lobster paella which he loved. Very high quality for the price.

We found "The Little Owl" online and booked purely because it had such good recent reviews. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Fantastic atmosphere, great service and perfectly sized, yummy portions. The connection to the "Friends" building was a bonus (as our kids are big fans of the show).

I think this restaurant gets a lot of attention because it is situated at the foot of the apartment block featured in Friends. However, it should get all of its attention because it is an excellent little restaurant with very friendly, helpful staff serving fantastic food in an intimate but comfortable setting. Prices are reasonable for NY for what amounts to fairly high-end food. Very highly recommend this restaurant - would return in a heartbeat!

I had the lamb shank for main course which I have to say was one of the best I've ever had - and I've had quite a few!!

Not quite as outstanding as previous visits. But maybe that's because I'm not a fan of brunch. Chicken fingers would have been better with an aioli or something. But we'll still be back.
