Skip the overpriced dinner and come for brunch instead — huge menu of every good sweet or savory brunch staple plus a few unique ones, super reasonable prices, and easier to get a resy (and warmer temps during daytime if you’re doing winter outdoor dining on their street during Covid like I did here). Would recommend the poached eggs on biscuits and the bellini for brunch! Our host and waiter were also both attentive and kind, even on a cold and busy Saturday afternoon at peak brunch.
Heating for outdoor winter seating was also very good, lots of heat lamps above the tables hanging from the roof, and one at floor/foot level for each table. Enclosed on 1 side, plus small partitions on each side of your table.
Great ambiance, great food, nice service. Would definitely recommend.
Their outdoor space is not only nice looking but extremely well-heated. Very comfortable! And the food was excellent
Great octopus and fries! They did a grey job with outdoor dining and Covid restrictions. We were warm and felt safe!
Loved every moment. Service was awesome- friendly and professional. Good was spectacular!
I went to the Little Owl for dinner in February 2021. I arrived slightly ahead of my reservation and was able to enjoy a drink at a standing table while waiting. The restaurant was backed up so I ended up waiting a long time and after my scheduled reservation time to be seated. When I was seated outside (my preference), I was comfortably wearing a t-shirt because there were plenty of heaters.
I ordered a creamy beef tagliatelle that was a daily special as an appetizer. It was splendid, and the portion was generous for an appetizer. I ordered the filet mignon for my entree and was thoroughly satisfied as it was prepared to my specification and was well balanced with traditional mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe. The drinks were enjoyable as well, in particular, I enjoyed their take on a Negroni which includes spritzer to make it bubbling.
Although I waited a long time, it was very generous of the staff to comp my meal (and to insist, even after I offered to pay for the drinks at least), showing that they truly care about their customers, treating them as neighbors! Strongly recommend based on the quality of their food and the commitment to their guests’ experience.
Great service by Maggie and our servers although it seemed like a crazy night there as we were sat almost an hour late. Food excellent. Love this spot and they made my friends birthday one to remember.
Food was fantastic as always! Waiter was so friendly, charming and accommodating of our special diet - and it was a cozy outdoor space - a little close but with barriers btw diners
Fantastic menu offerings, and delicious food in a comfortable externally heated but well-ventilated setting. Great service and prompt close-out which helps when having a business day lunch or an early evening dinner.
Our server was great...he and the amazing food made for a really great outdoor dining experience.
Great food wonderful service!
Everything was great, except I do recall some poor (radio-like) music being played in the background. If they insist on playing music outdoors at Little Owl, I’d suggest that they just play something like classical or solely instrumental, not music with words - like soft rock, or even classic rock (which I normally like!). But recorded music with lyrics is inappropriate for fine restaurant dining.
Great food, great outdoor dinning both from an ambiance and social distancing perspective.
A really great dining experience (very good food, very good service, nice ambiance, but a salad, an entrée, and dessert with two glasses of wine and no sides will set you back $140 (with COVID charge, tax, and 18% tip).
We got seated outside, but there were no heaters on our table (the ones beside us had). Coffee was watered down and downright cold, food was a very small portion and cold as well. Orange juice was completely sour. Had the chilaquiles and eggs were overdone and guac did not even cover 3 nachos. Very dissapointed
Outdoor dining was so warm! And the food was, as always, magnificent.
Perfect lunch outside with heaters.
Loved dining at The Little Owl. Super warm outdoor heaters, spaced out with plastic shields between and delicious wine and food!
best outdoor dining in NYC
Booking the reservation was easy, we were greeted warmly, waiter explained all the dishes, The wine menu is great. Our dinner to desert was delicious. Thank you.
Great happy hour! And such a cute setup.
Food was really good, service could’ve been better.
I waited a long time for the bill and then he wouldn’t refill my coffee as often as I liked.
best outdoor dining setup yet -- was 20 degrees out but was able to take off my coat and not have frozen toes. Food was amazing too and actually stayed warm the whole time unlike some of my other outdoor dining experiences elsewhere.
Great food and wine! The outdoor dining set-up keeps you extra warm.
Staff took a lot of precautions. they do charge a covid relief fee but i understand why. great food and service, def. a good outdoor experience—lots of heaters!
Outdoor dining due to Cuomo. Our first time outside in the middle of winter and it was actually perfect. Food amazing and awesome service
Joey is amazing. Get his cookbook. Outdoor seating is warm.
Had dinner with a party of 4 last Saturday when it was about 35 degrees at 6pm. The heaters are FANTASTIC - two per table. We were literally sweating. Do not worry about being cold, even if you're a baby with the cold (like me). The food is delicious, wine was great, and service is amazing. Such a cute area and really fun. Would go back any day. Made a reservation through Open Table which was easy. Overall incredibly impressed with my experience
Loved it. Really special evening. Wonderful service and super duper tasty. Order 3 deserts like we did!
Terrific, warm and festive, great to have this little gem in the neighborhood, maybe I should keep it a secret. Food was delicious and service terrific.
It was such a pleasant and delicious dining experience!
so delicious! they had ample outdoor heating
Amazing service! Highly recommend this for brunch
Great food and great service.
Great experience, delicious food, would strongly recommend.
Amazing food and excellent service. They also have a great outdoor setup, the night we went the real feel was 17, but each table has its own overhead heater as well as one to aim at your legs, we were very comfortable considering how cold it was.
Best burger ever, lovely server, great outdoor seating set up. I'm so happy we braved the cold because brunch warmed us all up:)
10/10!!! Excellent burger and Caesar salad
