American
This charming 28-seat West Village restaurant has quickly become one of the city's most sought after reservations. Joey Campanaro's simple-yet-inspired American-Mediterranean cuisine, warm hospitality, and a friendly and professional service team, helps create the quintessential New York dining experience for New Yorkers and visitors alike. Inquisitive guests can peek into the kitchen and watch Joey create his signature dishes, including Gravy Meatball Sliders, homemade Ricotta Cavatelli and of course, The Little Owl's famous Pork Chop.

Whenever I visit NYC, I make plans to go to the Little Owl. It's like being in the home of a good friend. Great food, cozy atmosphere. I always tell people looking for a restaurant recommendation to go to the Little Owl because they won't be disappointed.

Another great meal - this time for lunch, when the restaurant is much quieter. But everything is else is at the same outstanding level. Truly a delight, and the food was delicious

The food was delicious at lunch on Tuesday. We had soft shell crab special and the squash blossom starter. Really so tasty. The price is always quite steep here but at least it was worth it. So often isn’t.
Really enjoyed the whole lunch experience.

Little Owl is the perfect spot for a Mother Daughter dinner. We sat in a cozy sun drenched corner as our waiter explained the special of the day a delightful surf and turf . With so many delicious options we shared Branzino and grilled string beans paired deliciously with recommended whites. Thank you Little Owl for creating the serene atmosphere and for a memorable meal.

Any small restaurant that remains viable in NYC for longer than a decade must be doing something right, and this one certainly is when it comes to the food they offer. Everything we had was delicious. The only off note -- and this happens a lot in good places lately -- was a lack of consideration given to appropriate music. What was blasting through several speakers as we ate was literally the same music I hear at the gym: Greatest hits of the 70s and 80s. Much as I like Duran Duran, Simple Minds, Crowded House, and Men at Work, I don't find their work relaxing in this setting. And when the loudness of the audio induces everyone in a close setting like Little Owl to speak at the top of their respective lungs, the ambiance gets annoying fast. String quartets, maybe? Jazz? Otherwise, fab!

What a delightful neighborhood gem! Very small, so tables very close, but, noise level is actually helpful to feel like you can have some privacy in conversations. Food was great! Cannot wait to go back so I can try some other items on menu!

The little Owl has been one of our favorite restaurants for quite a while. It's got a great combination of great food, superior service and excellent ambiance. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff treat you like your happiness is important to them. The music is always upbeat, the crowd is loud and energetic in a small space. All aspects of the dining experience are quite enjoyable.

If every restaurant in NYC could be at least 50% as good as Little Owl, that would be a huge achievement. This is just the perfect combination of high-end comfort food perfectly prepared, a cozy setting, and a staff who are so engaged with the diners. The "buzz" here isn't because it's an "in" place, but because everyone is so happy to there. A total pleasure, and two more reservations are already in our future. Can't wait!!!

So glad we tried this place for dinner and have already recommended it to family and friends. Service was very good and kind. Food was delicious and very tasty. I had the French onion soup and my husband the meatball sliders, very tasty. For our entrees we had the filet mignon and halibut. We order the special a side of the Brussels sprouts with Spivey roasted pecans, so delicious. Portions were just right. Oh and the wine and sangria were on point.

The Little Owl never disappoints. I am certainly not the first to say, have the meatball sliders! Had a fried skate sandwich with coleslaw for lunch, after the meatballs, and it was perfect. Service was very good, not exceptional, but the place has such a special feel to it...tightly packed in, but I guess you would call it cozy/warm. Hey...its The Little Owl after all.
