Excellent service and food
One of my favorite spots in NY that never fails to exceed expectations. Delicious food, amazing service, friendliest staff in this cozy west village spot.
Little Owl is the loveliest restaurant in nyc. The food is consistently delicious, service is perfect, staff is kind and happy to give guidance and the atmosphere is incredibly charming. Dates, catch ups, perfect!
They made our anniversary so special
My favorite place, makes me so happy every time! 100% recommended.
Perfect meal on a beautiful street. Felt safe and taken care of. Highly recommend!
Very good food, nice outdoor dining experience. We had the halibut and the snapper special. I also enjoyed the Little Owl Rosso wine. My only recommendation was to make it clear to diners there is a time limited at the table. After an 90 min we were asked if we minded moving to a side table to have our coffee. They were very nice about it but I would have preferred knowing they had time limit. On the plus side- glad this gem of a restaurant was still busy that they had this challenge. Love this place
Couldn't have asked for better ambiance (even with outdoor dining in colder weather) or service! Food was delicious - I came for dinner and am excited to come back to try brunch!
We were off on the side and rarely got checked on; service was extremely slow.
Lettuce in my Caesar salad was brown.
Seems like they’re still figuring out covid dining.
Little Owl has maintained its utter excellence against all odds! Warm, relaxed yet attentive service, food delicious as always, and a sweet, spontaneous lagniappe to finish. Love.
They said they don’t do happy hour anymore but have not updated their website
We went for a lovely Sunday brunch to celebrate our parents anniversary. Our waitress was so attentive and thoughtful making our experience all the more merry! We ordered a variety of items off the menu, everything being delicious and satisfying. Their food is very much quality over quantity. The overall ambience and service is marvelous. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back again soon!
The Little Owl has transitioned without a glitch to accommodate the new Covid world. The service was still superb. The food outstanding. They've even managed to make the outside dining ambience quite delightful. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in NYC!
Such a cute, simple yet elegant little place - perfect for Sunday breakfast with an old friend. Menu items are unique (chaquilles!) and we loved the simple, "not too much food" presentation. Waitress could not have been sweeter.
This is the quaintest local restaurant! The food is terrific and the wait staff even better! A must visit for a fun weekend brunch!
The Little Owl is an unassuming restaurant tucked away on Bedford Street. The outdoor setup due to COVID-19 guidelines was nice, albeit cold on a particularly brisk autumn morning. I would have liked to have seen the heat lamps that were sitting inside the restaurant brought outdoors, but we made due by keeping our jackets on. I appreciated, however, the tent setup that allowed us to be somewhat shielded from the street, as well as the screens that presented some separation from the other patrons.
The food at this establishment is very good. While neither audacious nor exceptional, no dish on the table (out of the six ordered) lacked a compliment from either of us. I’m glad we shared dishes so that we could experience an array of what The Little Owl had to offer. A standout dish was the roasted corn, which was just slightly spicy and very flavorful. Others ordered were the Caesar salad (simple, but refreshing and delicious), the mushroom risotto (mix in the egg while the dish is still piping hot as it will cool down exceptionally outside), the breakfast patties (a complimentary side to the otherwise mostly vegetarian meal), french fries (perfectly crisp and seasoned), and the beignets (the chef’s interpretation on the classic dessert rather than traditional beignets, served with chocolate-hazelnut and berry jam dipping sauces).
The real standout, however, was the service. Our server was a lovely woman who helped us navigate the menu and ensured we ordered a fine brunch. She was sweet and attentive and made the meal particularly memorable. The host was very kind as well. I will be returning again for the notable service and a very good meal.
One of the best brunches we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back.
They have no heaters for inclement weather, so the outdoor dining experience was cold, wet, and blustery. We had brunch, and the food was mediocre--particularly the side of scrambled eggs. The ambience is better at night, but dress warmly.
Little owl is such a neighborhood gem. The service is fast and friendly. The food was so delicious my friend ordered seconds! Highly recommend!
My husband and I loved the dining experience at The Little Owl. Delicious steak and overall great food!
Amazing drinks and food. Plenty of fish options for pescatarians. Always a pleasure!
Service was excellent, the out door dining was comfortable with adequate distance from other diners. The menu was moderate sized with several selections in major catalogues. The pork chop was outstanding, the Black Sea bass over lobster paella was very good, the sunflower salad was a must and the barrata was ok
it is hard to really judge a restaurant during Covid, but we went on a Friday in October. The only menu offered was the brunch menu, so that was limited. Food was good, portions were smallish, but not unreasonable for lunch/ brunch. We had the risotto with truffles and an egg. There was not much truffle flavor, it was more egg and rice; but it was good.
Everything was just delicious and the service was impeccable! We looked for a breakfast place it’s open during this time everywhere but so glad we found this I will definitely be going back.
Food was excellent. Professional and engaging service. It is one of my favorite places in the West Village for dinner.
As usual, the food was superb! The pork chop and butter beans was outstanding, and I can never visit Little Owl without scarfing down the green beans and corn sides. (that corn!!) I miss Jen, but our server was fantastic! (Sorry I don’t know his name...young Latino guy) Hope to see you again soon!
Since the pandemic I have eaten at the Little Owl about six times and each time has been wonderful It's still the charming restaurant it was when it opened back in the day, and fortunately for it, the location is well equipped to handle outdoor dining. As usual the food is very good and it's a nice escape to be there amidst the beautiful homes of yester-year, and yet close to the Hudson if you want to take a walk. I'm a fan.
Very nice outdoor seating ambiance. Excellent service. Best pork chop I ever had!
The quintessential west village restaurant. Charming, hospitable and the food is ALWAYS delicious. There is not one thing I would not eat on that menu.
A perfect evening was had here at The Little Owl. Service was fantastic at every stage of the meal and every one of the team here made our wedding anniversary so special. To every single person on the team that connected with us - THANKYOU! You made our night and you also made us 2 raving fans of your restaurant. Hugs, Owen & Finn.
Celebrated our engagement here and the staff was wonderful!
(1) Food was delicious, portions were very small though and thus overpriced (2) service staff made us feel rushed, and moved us out quickly as soon as we received the bill (and not very warmly or subtly)
Cute place! Little expensive, but I am a ho for their rose sangria.
Seating was outside and very tastefully done, food and service was excellent. Recommended!
Covid mandated outdoor seating - very well done. All tables occupied but well-spaced and service excellent. Food as great as always. A very pleasant evening out.
Not very much food for the price. It was brunch. Dinner’s here much better for what you get.
Great service from the minute we arrived. Our table wasn’t quite ready so we had drinks brought to us and constant communication from the great front of house guy. Very tasty food and the Happy Hour we slipped in to (3-5) was very good: $1 tapas and bogof wine.
Great way to end our Sunday. Our server was amazing welcoming , attentive and just great energy. I’d forgotten about this little gem
Great spot for brunch outside on a quiet side street. Eggplant parm is delicious and the french toast looks great but didn’t get to try it. Only miss was the fresh orange juice which tasted a bit like tangerine.
