Had a great experience at Little Dipper. Price was below that of the Melting Pot. Server was very attentive. Extensive selection of dipping sauces to complement the entrees.

We had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing. We started with a light lager cheddar and had a white wine broth which was fantastic. We finished the meal with berry cheesecake and was not disappointed there either. What a great evening all around.

We went here for ladies night and had horrible service! We only saw our waiter 4 times, our cheese was barely mild and our chocolate was room temp. When they brought chocolate, there was no water in pot so it surprising it wasn’t warm. The waiter also brought checks when he brought chocolate which I thought was extremely rude given we were not finished and might have wanted more.

The food was wonderful as usual. We did the brunch this weekend again and the grits with shrimp and bacon were my favorite. The bottomless mimosas are also wonderful.

We stopped in for an early dinner before a show at DPAC, and were thrilled to find out that on Tuesdays, you can get Cheese and Chocolate fondue for $10/person. The Fontina Fondue was delicious, as well as the La Farm bread that went along with it. Our server, Christian, was personable without being overbearing. The fluffernutter chocolate fondue was amazing, although there may have been a bit too much of it. All in all, this may become our regular DPAC pre-show spot!

We had the 4 course meal prix free, with kids free and $10 endless mimosas. Everything including the service was spectacular. Wish I had been to this gem sooner.

We had an awesome time! We were seated at a cozy booth that was pretty private and perfect for our date night. The fontina cheese was awesome and I definitely recommend the peanut oil cooking style. Our waiter Kevin was awesome! He kept us entertained and had a great personality. Definitely recommend it for a date night or even a group! Not just dinner, but an experience.

For a party of 6, I wish we had been able to pick at least two cheeses. Also, the service was kind of slow, with our waiter disappearing for like 30 minutes on end. That being said, my friends and I all really enjoyed our time there, and will definitely recommend/come back again!

The service, as almost always, was great, and the food was decadent. However, there was a large group of 11 year olds squealing and singing at a birthday party with little adult supervision. Ruined the romantic vibe and is not an appropriate location for a child's birthday party. I don't know how a restaurant deals with that- you want to provide excellent service to everyone but without letting some ruin the night of other guests.

We celebrated my grandson's 6th birthday and it was our first experience at at The Little Dipper. John was our waiter and was, without a doubt, what made our experience first class. The menu is challenging but he made it uncomplicated and a lot of fun. If you can sit in his section, do it!! The food was great but the dark chocolate was the bomb!! Thanks John!

Great food, it is a little expensive but worth for a special occasion. We loved the white chocolate with berries dessert. After finishing the fruit I used the spoon to continue eating the chocolate from the pot... the best dessert!

I first hesitated idea of fondu because of too much cheese and no varieties. They do have many different kinds. This is not just a fondu place but a hotpot place. We chose Thursday special for date night three course meals with pairing (choice of beer or wine), and that was certainly good value. Love to try other flavor fondu.

What a great dinner! My family's first fondue experience!
Excellent service, waitress made helpful suggestions and great menu options. It was so much fun! We did cheese fondue, dinner entrees, and fruit in chocolate for dessert! Great atmosphere. Thank you for memorable experience in Durham. We were visiting Duke.

It's pretty dumb that some cheeses are extra even though it doesn't say so on the menu. Water spilled at our table and waitress didn't offer napkins or to help clean. And you cant take your extra food home. DUMB all the way. Won't return.

The Little Dipper is a Durham gem. The design and decoration creates the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the unique experience of fondue. The dips are made in front of you so you know it's fresh! A great place for a special occasion!

Our 1st time experience was wonderful. It was our wedding anniversary and they brought us complimentary champagne. Many more food options than the competitor, Melting Pot. Staff was very attentive. Prices were much better than competition. Our waitress was o.k., but the manager and other staff were very attentive. Bottled wine prices were a bit high, so we opted for the Flight of Wine experience. We will be back!

Little Dipper Durham never fails to be an incredible value for money. My husband and I had a truly extravagant date night, walking away after 4 delicious and creative courses feeling totally stuffed, and all for under 100 dollars! The ambiance is cosy and fun for couples especially. I have also been to the restaurant a few times for their ladies night special and had fun, but the little couple booths are a perfect environment for a flirty date dinner. The service is assiduous but they allow you your privacy, and everyone working there seems to be having fun, which helps to set a festive tone.

Birthday celebration for my daughter. Dinner is not quick - we spent over 2 hours. But it is great to spend some quality family time together. I would recommend an earlier reservation (ours was 7pm) and by the time we left we were all tired!

Food is good and the service was wonderful.

Food was great. Service was short of adequate. Our waitress visited our table 3 times the entire night. Once to take our order, once to deliver food and the last to bring our bill. After such poor service we opted to forego dessert and received a big eye roll. Peanut oil was boiling and overflowing we were told not to worry and they would shout out hot oil if there was a problem. Well instead of a catastrophe, we turned the temp down ourselves. Quite dangerous, boiling oil. Not sure if we will be back for this reason.

Excellent experience as usual. Superior cheese fondue, perfect size little salad and excellent meats for cooking. When our server found out it was our anniversary he delivered chocolate covered strawberries and two glasses of wine at the end of the meal!

The filet and portobello was amazing. Seriously, the beef was exceptional--super tender! Loved the sauce on the mushrooms, too. My one critique is that our waitress was inattentive. She disappeared for so long that we asked another waitress nearby to track her down for us. (The other waitress gladly got what we needed despite not being ours.) The food was great, though, and I would happily eat there again.

Plenty of food for the cost. Take your time, good place to have a conversation. The shrimp in the shrimp and grits was too salty, and the quiche had a strange consistency but tasted ok. Next time I'm going to try the chocolate!
