The Little Chalet Ratings and Reviews
Disappointing. As if they were going out of business. Been here before. Gets worse each time. Waiter was terrible and indifferent. . Took forever to get drinks. Empty glasses sat with no offer for refil. Plates sat long after we finished. Told us they didn't have much for desert. We ordered. Some to share but he brought desert but no plates nor forks.
Food was just ok and not worth the price. Steak place ran out of ribeye? No fish specials "due to the hurricane "? Only three desert offerings ? Many better options in the area.. Maybe it was just not our night but.; something isn't right. We're done with this place.
First time here. Found this place on OpenTable and thought it sounded great for date night. We had a 8pm reservation on Thursday night it was quiet and peaceful when we walked in. After we were seated at a cozy table we met our waiter John. His service was phenomenal, it was a dining experience and he made us feel comfortable and without rushing us out after we finished. The food was delicious!!!! Cannot wait to go back for another dinner. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
We arrived and the host was friendly and placed us where we wanted to sit. The restaurant was almost empty. We studied the menu and it was not "Modern European" at all. The food was American with Swiss names, with the exception of the fondu. Sad to see that, as the European kitchen has so many Chalet like possible items (e.g. Schnitzel, Spatzle, Knodel (dumplings)).
We then waited 20 minutes for the waiter to show up, we were just leaving. He apologized and explained he likes to leave his customers time to study the menu. 20 minutes for 10 items is a long time. But after our complaint the service was good.
The food came and the steak was tough and salty (aged prime rib) and the fondu was cold. The potatoes were not fully cooked, rather al dente (last is a matter of taste).
The manager came over and listen to our complaint and they gave us a $20 voucher. We won't use it, as we won't return, but it was an ok offer.
Finally, we witnessed a dispute between a server and the kitchen and this gave us a clue why there are some issues in that restaurant. Needless to say we won't return.
I came here with the intent to have a romantic dinner and I did just that. The food was great and seemed very fresh, our waiter ensured we were taken care of but kept his distance so we could enjoy our time. This is definitely not your everyday date spot, but for that special occasion I would recommend it!
Really enjoyed the authentic cozy atmosphere. Our waiter (Frank) was outstanding. He recommended an appetizer of Brussels sprouts made with chorizo and beets - they were excellent! (Yes, Brussels sprouts!). We also enjoyed the octopus and squid ink pasta. Both prepared with excellence. Capped off with French toast and ice cream. Was our first visit and we will be returning soon!
Waiter was too busy. He didn't come around often. Also, were brought the wrong order. Then we were brought plates for dessert by another gentleman but then he took them away & gave them to another table. We were ready for dessert so I did't understand that. We had to wait at least 10 more minutes to give our dessert order. Lastly, my bill was incorrect (overcharged). It was corrected & waiter apologized for error.
I brought a couple for their Anniversary. The actual place is beautiful. Pianist amazing and super friendly. Drinks from the bar were very good, we ordered fondue and the sauces that came with the main entree were very delicious. The food tasted good.
Didn't like the way they sat us down for a party of 8, we were really far from each other. Food was overpriced, for what it was given. They said their kid's pasta dish was Al Dente (It was undercooked).
Overall, we had a little above average time, my husband and I love food, and this place didn't stand out for the flavor, would probably not to go back.
Standard Cheese fondue was very good, but would prefer a bit more sharpness. Lamb was cooked excellently. Octopus legs were tough and the dish was sent back. Brussel sprouts were very good but could have been a bit more charred. Craft cocktails and bartender, she and they were very good, especially the wood smoked Rusty Nail! Restaurant was not busy and we sat in quiet area. Sometimes the service was slow (and they comped our wine for that). For the price, Chalet needs to do better.
Great place for a 5 star restaurant. Piano player and bar was great. But..... ordered the filet at the recommendation of the waiter and it was impossible to chew, got first bite stuck in my throat and had to retire to the restroom to recover. Left a good glass of wine to go home and recover from this night.
We celebrated a birthday here with the fondue special for two and had a lovely time. The ambience is great and the service was amazing, the waiter was cleaning the camera screen on my iphone to get a better photo for us. I think its especially good for romantic dinners. And of course the food was delicious too.
Was met at the door with a sincere greeting and the service was terrific from there on. Enjoyed a drink at the bar with a live piano to complement. Atmosphere is extraordinary for ambient conversation and the food was excellent. Was on a first date which turned out well and added to a memorable evening.
It was an enjoyable experience. The decor was so intimate, perfect for a date or just a relaxing dinner with friends! They have great lighting and most importantly tasteful and mouthwatering food. Besides, our sever John which I would totally ask for his service next time deserves five stars. He knew a lot about the menu and he was always aware of us, if we liked the food and the drinks we ordered. Amazing service!
It was our first time there and we absolutely loved it! The decor and the ambiance were great and we truly enjoyed listening to the piano player. The service and attention was fabulous. The piano player came around and asked if the noise level was okay and if we had any special requests for songs to play. He truly wanted to make our evening special. The food was delicious! The french onion soup is by far the best I've ever had (when compared to those served at French restaurants). And the stuffed chicken breast was so juicy and tender! (Generally, I never order chicken). This is a great restaurant with exceptional food and service! Truly a gem!
We were there for our 5 year anniversary. Great ambiance, great service, excellent food. We had the fondue, wine, beer and dessert. We were able to choose the area where our table was located and chose the "engagement room". Very cozy, it felt like it was straight out of a restaurant in the Swiss Alps. We couldn't agree on part of our dessert options, so they let us have two different flavors of melted chocolate at no additional charge!
Then restaurant itself is very cool. Definitely worthy of its name. Had a reservation for 7 so we went to the bar for a drink first- happy hour until 7- there was a fantastic piano player. The staff was so accommodating. After drinks we sat down in a booth in the bar area. The food was very good. We got the snapper special and
The ribeye, at gratin potatoes and fries. The potatoes were ok. Kind of soupy. Everything else was delicious including the dessert- some kind of fried pound cake. Great dining experience- looking forward to a return visit.
Awesome time here! This is a place to go for fondue when you are not in a rush. The Fondue experience took us almost 2 hours to get through and the time was spent eating, talking and truly enjoying ourselves as a family. Thank you The Little Chalet for welcoming us and making us feel great about our choice for our Daughter's 18th birthday.
Nice place with a lot of potential. The restaurant is over priced and the valet and hostess need training or replacement. Also, the restaurant never responded after sending several email inquiries earlier that morning for reservation or the promised $15 coupon for signing up.
