Last, but not least, they offer hand-crafted cocktails considered amongst the best in the city in an eclectic atmosphere with a friendly staff.
Meat and Cheese Board

Aged white cheddar, house cut fries
Our Deviled Eggs
Espelette, caviar, truffle & prosciutto, quail confit
Great service. Great food. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem.
Husband Bday with Friends They all loved it
Food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic. Highly recommend 👍👍
One and done. So disappointed.
Highlights: the vibe, cocktails and deer sliders.
The ugly: where's the meat?!?!
Meat board was meh.
Rabbit pot pie should be called veggie pot pie as there was 1 tablespoon of rabbit;
Elk flank was tough eventhough medium and swimming in sauce;
Boar pasta had limited boar and noodles were overcooked; and
Waygu tacos were ok.
Should have gotten the burger as there was actually meat.
My husband and I love The Lion's Share! It is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The cocktails are fabulous, the food delicious, and the service superb. It is always relaxing and fun to go there. It is a meat-focused menu, though, which challenges me as a pescatarian, but my husband thrives on the choices. Great place!
Out of this world amazing! The venison chop was one of the best things I have ever eaten hands down! Fantastic date night place! Great craft cocktails and they even have a wonderful Zero proof menu! The staff was also top quality!
Great cocktails and great happy hour!
The Buffalo aged ribeye and venison chops were outstanding. Highly recommend either dish with a glass of Cabernet or tempranillo wine.
the finest vibe in all of san diego. knowledgable, super friendly staff, fantastic cocktails. the food is second to none. and the artwork? lots of it to entertain you. a true san diego gem.
Delicious! We did have a few entrees however that were way too heavy on the salt.
Our party size grew right before our reservation and the hostess/ server was very accommodating and made it work for us. Drinks were delicious, food was really good, great location, overall really great place. Will definitely go again.
Love it all!
My fave place & Diana is a gem!
Cocktails are fantastic and the food is always phenomenal! Definitely a place where you want to take your time to enjoy the meal and ambiance.
Service was slow but they were busy… food was good but some dishes were very salty.
My wife and I went here for our 11th Anniversary. It was so good! My wife had the burger and truffle fries and loved them. I had the elk with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Tasty! Our favorite part was the banana cream pie, which was the best we have ever had.
The aesthetics of the place are really cool and the menu is creative and fun. The service was top notch. Our server was incredible. She knew every detail about the menu, was friendly, and even brought us a kind surprise at the end of our meal for our anniversary. Great place!
Very unique restaurant. Awesome ambiance, you won’t get bored, and some of the best food I have ever eaten. The menu is very unique as well and definitely makes it worth it! The drinks are delicious and the service is very welcoming!
Try thr pepper goat cheese appetizer! The wiskey ginger drink was amazing.
The Duck and Dumpling dish was exceptional. I went back to have it a second night in a row.
Service was nice but a little slow. Menu was decent; would’ve line a more extensive happy hour menu.
Excellent drinks, food was delicious.
Excellent options available for the Happy Hour. Recommend the Boar Sausage.
Love this establishments vibe, location, food and drinks. Staff is friendly and professional.
A very interesting menu and a great bar. Very noisy, at least when we were there.
Amazing happy hour cocktails - both quality and value. Great service and fun ambience. Would recommend for drinks!
Though the food is excellent, we had a less than stellar experience with the service. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation to celebrate our anniversary (which we indicated on our reservation form) and I told the staff we could wait but they insisted on seating us ASAP and we ended up at a small table where we were ignored for about 15 minutes before getting our drinks ordered, and then waited another 20 for them to arrive. It looked like they were short staffed, which is forgivable, but the tables on either side of us were sat twice before we even finished dinner. I think we interacted with our waiter about 4 times the entire night. In addition, this place had a dress code listed on their site as business casual, but we seemed to be the only people there who got the memo. Guests were wearing flip flops and cargo shorts, and many of the tables were incredibly loud and disruptive but no one said anything and it really put a damper on the restaurant’s atmosphere of a higher end and more formal locale. We enjoyed the meal but overall the experience wasn’t really what we would have wanted for a special occasion dinner, especially considering the costs.
Food was delicious.
Best food and service in San Diego. I love the fact that the lions share is a small venue which means the food isn’t mass produced. You can taste the care and attention to detail in every bite. The drinks here are also top notch and reasonably priced. This is my all time favorite all around restaurant in San Diego. Diana and the crew are amazing too. You can’t go wrong here.
Neat vibe, unique decor. Food was delicious—highly recommend!
Great place, nice to be away from gaslamp for a fun dinner without all the chaos. Decor is great and the food is amazing. When you go here, go here for the wild game. Let your taste buds go on an adventure!
The salads and soups here are excellent. The scallops were some of the best I’ve had
Amazing food, excellent service, relaxed atmosphere.
Great dining experience!
Intimate and cozy on the inside with a speakeasy-like vibe. The lamb tacos and carrot appetizers were the best! Duck confit appetizer and bone marrow appetizer also very good but less flavorful than the tacos and carrots. Service was excellent!
Great food! Eclectic and fun decor. Servers were very friendly and welcoming.
Shared sliders and Bison tar tar. Had the There's no I in Tea and the Buffalo stamp. Everything was amazing! No complaints at all. Sat at the bar and the service was impeccable.
Birthday dinner. My boyfriend loves to try different types of meat and thought this was the perfect place. Ended up just getting almost every appetizer on the menu. Bison tartare, lamb tacos, red deer sliders, sausage plate, carrots and bone marrow 😊
Our top 3 favorites were the carrots and sliders and bison tartare.
I have been this restaurant many many times. And always great food and excellent service! Make rez in advance! I highly recommend ribeye, bone Marrow and lamb tacos. Half chicken’s pesto is little bir overwhelming so maybe ask for less. My go to drink is Barbara Streisand.
