This was our first time here and it was a great experience overall! Our server Emily was simply amazing
What a faboo place. We loved the ambiance, the service, the food, and the clientele. The next table chatted us up, and by the end of the meal we had passed many plates back and forth. There is a speakeasy atmosphere and you can get lovely game. From Bison Tartare to Elk steak. And it's walking distance from Marriott and Hyatt.
I got the elk steak which was perfectly medium rare. The sear/crust was okay but could use some improvement. The “duck fat” mashed potatoes were extremely bland and under seasoned. The broccolini was probably my favorite part of the dish; the char and cook on it was fantastic.
Overall, it was good but I expected a bit more.
I was also disappointed that the pig ears weren’t on the menu.
Cocktails were very good and bartenders were fantastic.
The poutine is amazing.
Highly recommend! Ambiance is romantic, fun artwork to look at, the new remodeling is great!!! Excellent food!
We have dined at the Lion’s Share over 10 times in the past few years and have never given less than a five star review. However, this trip was absolutely awful. We made a reservation right when they opened, yet still waited over 45 minutes to get a meat and cheese board and almost 90 minutes to be brought our dinner.
I don’t even think we were provided with a designated server. It almost seemed like we were forgotten by the entire staff. Our water was never refilled, the food seemed hastily thrown together, despite the over 90 minute wait. Portions were much smaller than they used to be, and we felt like we were in a completely different restaurant.
We live out of town and switched around our travel plans to make sure we were able to go to this restaurant while we were in San Diego. To say we are disappointed would be an understatement.
Great spot for good food, service and just a little bit funky vibe.
We had the BEST experience at The Lion Share. Every single thing from the service, accommodations, food and drinks were absolutely perfect. This is definitely our favorite place especially when Simon is there who we absolutely love! will be coming back a million times. thank you!
What an awesome experience...the food was eclectic and little off the beaten path of normal menus. Food was very very delicious and the service was outstanding. It was fun and exciting trying something a bit different but it paid huge dividends. The pigs ears, the duck, the exotic meat board were all winners. I will definitely put The Lion’s Share in the rotation!
It was a first trying the restaurant for date night, the food was good and the drinks were GREAT!!!
We ordered the hanger steak, very gristly and tasteless. The mashed potatoes that came with it we’re also very mediocre and the broccolini was so so. Overall we were just not impressed. All the floors are hard concrete the same with the walls, so sound was extremely loud. It was very difficult to even have a conversation
Great food and cocktails as well as wonderful service in a beautiful setting.
Great food, the hostess was very accommodating of our request to seat two reservations near to each other for a birthday party. The food was great. Understandably, the restaurant was very strict on COVID regulations and we were reminded several times not to move between the two tables. We weren't allowed to bring our own birthday cake but I should've asked beforehand. Other than that it was a great experience!
Went with some friends from out of town - highly recommend
Perfect place for a nice date or to bring friends. Original dishes and cocktails that everyone in our group loved. The staff was knowledgeable and as friendly as could be. We can’t wait to go back.
Very strange artwork on the wall made the vibe feel very dark. I got the venison loin meal and the meat was cooked as I asked but had little to no flavor or seasoning of any kind. Waiters were polite but very slow and only saw them once or twice during our meal. I’ve eaten venison in quite a few places but the meat here was the worst I’ve had. Food was not bad but it need much more flavor. The main turnoff for me was the dark ambiance/environment of the restaurant.
Was pleasantly surprised that their happy hour is seven days a week, so showing up on a weekend it was great to be able to try some of their amazing drinks and appetizers. Settled on the Boar Proscuitto and the Boar Poutine, both were excellent choices. For a beverage I'd recommend the Federal Buffalo Stamp and chose the Hanger Steak as my entree.
Great date night for me and my lovely wife. Excellent service great environment, friendly server. Will go back
It was hard to find because their patio was covering the front of the restaurant. We got dropped off via Uber around the corner behind the restaurant and trolley tracks. Then had to walk all the way around. Service was really nice upon arrival though.
This place was a treat. Got the Boar Carpaccio, the Duck two ways, and a bottle of the Oregon Pinot Noir. Everything was incredible including the service. Definitely recommend.
👍👍👍 good food and service as always can’t wait to try other menu items next time
Drinks were good.
Booked based on the exceptional reviews. Did not disappoint.
Kaylie, Diana and the whole staff are most welcoming, and the food delish and the service wonderful. We were happy to get together a small reunion of friends - over 8 months. So very glad to see that you are still open and look forward to stopping in as the vaccines get this pandemic under control. Hugs to all - Richard Candelaria
Great food and service as always.
Service and food Impeccable , one of my first dining experiences outside; the service made the weather tolerable. Love the cocktails. Will return soon.
Amazing food! Amazing service. I would like to state that because of the outdoor dinning and the current weather in the wintertime, there should be couple more heaters outside. Other than that it was an amazing experience.
A mix of good, bad and very bad food in a freezing environment due to the weather and the poor outdoor setup. This is not a place to enjoy your Sunday dinner!
A favorite restaurant of ours in San Diego, my girlfriend and I look forward to every meal at TLS. The quality and consistency of the food is always spot on and every drink that comes from their bar is award worthy. Enjoying a meal their is infinitely enhanced by the decor and dark ambiance of the dining room, but to be able to enjoy their food at all is what really counts. We appreciate the way they have adapted to the current state of eating out and we look forward to our next meal and of course our next cocktail at The Lion’s Share!
Great food and drinks! Love the artworks inside the restaurant. Really hope covid ends soon so I can dine inside because the ambience felt stunning.
Another great experience as always with dianna. Had a great time with amazing drinks
The restaurant was closed. They should be removed, temporarily, until they re-open.
They still let me book with Open Table even though they were closed. Even their voicemail stated that they were still open.
The restaurant was closed! How were we allowed to still make reservations if it's closed?!
It was our first time here & we celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday. I’ve had my eye on this place for a while and they completely exceeded my expectations! Thank you for an amazing night!
I believe it is under new management, everything has changed not for the better
Interesting and delicious food. They decorated the outdoor area to be very inviting. The service is friendly.
This restaurant had a great ambience, despite having to sit outside. The heating lamps were appreciated. When asked for drink/food recommendations the waiter wasn't super helpful. The food was good, very flavorful, but heavy handed with the salt on all dishes. Left a little something to be desired as I could easily dress up a skirt steak too. Overall, decent service, cool vibes, food was good but ask for extra water. Probably won't go back but worth trying if you're looking for something different to try.
The best restaurant in San Diego. Been here 5+ times and still amazing food and drinks every time.
Pre-birthday dinner celebration for my sister.
