About this restaurant

  • Neighborhood gem
  • Great for brunch
  • Good for groups
We are not just a restaurant, but an institution in Arlington. The first floor of our restored historic property houses an inviting bar and lounge that remains vibrant all hours of the day. Our upstairs dining room offers professional service, a warm ambiance, and a menu featuring rustic, modern American cuisine. We are devoted to in-house production: we bake all of our own bread and pastas, sausages, and desserts. Our beverage program features creative specialty cocktails, a diverse wine list, and a great selection of premium draft and bottled beer. We are known for our unlimited small plates brunch on the weekend and late night dancing Friday through Sunday. Liberty To-Go offers a separate carry-out entrance on Irving Street where wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, fresh salads and other specialties are offered for enjoyment at home.

We've been here many times, and this time I feel like the cocktails and food were truly exceptional (vs just good which was our experience previously). Our server was very attentive and helpful as well. We had a wonderful experience!

Got the unlimited brunch. Nice range of choices. Only two of us so gave us smaller servings of the shareables. Smaller bites so can try many things and reorder what you liked.

We dined in the upstairs on a Friday night and the room was full of patrons but will very little noise. The food was delivered quickly and the waitstaff was friendly and we never felt rushed! We tend to dine at this restaurant several nights a week and are never disappointed!

We came for the brunch and had a great time. We ate on the second floor which seemed to be a little quieter than downstairs and our server was excellent: friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Our food was excellent. We would certainly return.

A wonderful place to celebrate a special event! Went here with my partner for his birthday and had an exceptional time; we ordered the Unlimited Small Plates brunch and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was amazing, I can see why President Obama wanted to come here!

Lively spot, was packed with people having a good time on a weekend evening. Food is decent, plated well, and fairly proportioned but relatively pricey. Ambience is a bit outdated. The key benefit is location. If you’re looking for a knock-your-socks-off intimate meal, go elsewhere. If you’re planning to be in the area with friends, it’ll be just fine. Make a reservation if you can.

Food was delicious, a very good value for the price. I’d return for that anytime. Seating indoors was loud so we sat outside. Our waiter was stressed, which was apparent by his not listening and inability to hear correction. It was a busy evening and our first time at Liberty Tavern. A friend recommended for good pub food.
