We ate here on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was busy, so it was loud. We took my husband's aunt and uncle, along with our 2 kids. We ordered arancini and meatballs for appetizers. They came to the table after we got our entrees, but they were very good! I had the Vermont pizza, with prosciutto and pear. It was delicious! My husband had the gnocchi and loved it! My daughter had the seared duck breast. She enjoyed it. My son had spaghetti and meatballs. For dessert I had the lemon crumble cake, which was light and delicious! My husband's uncle had to ask 3 times for sweetener for his coffee, but other than that The Liberty Tavern was great! We would definitely eat there again!
We took our twenty-something sons out for Saturday brunch. We had a 10:30 reservation, so the restaurant was pretty quiet when we got there. We did the unlimited brunch and everyone enjoyed the "small plate" style. There was a lot of variety of both breakfast and lunch items; however, we mainly did breakfast. The service was friendly and our waiter was very attentive. Two of us did the "unlimited drink" option, which for $15 was a very good deal. Our glasses were never empty. The food was very quick, hot, and everything that everyone tried was good. We particularly enjoyed the amazing French toast. We had steak and eggs selecting the sirloin off the lunch item menu. One son got the mac & cheese and loved it, even though he was full by that time, he still kept eating it. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely go again.
Good food, late dining (for Clarendon standards, last reservation is at 9:45), good drinks - enjoyed my negroni, good value. Excellent service. And you can join the vibrant bar downstairs after dinner for more drinks and some dancing!
The arancini, meatballs, and calamari are all good starters.
I enjoyed the Roasted Chicken - sizable, juicy, and on a bed of mashed potatoes and spinach.
Tuscan Grilled Steak is very good too.
The Gnocchi is OK, if you like a lot of cream.
Pizza: not a Neapolitan DOC, but good food. The Vermont pizza is rich and flavorful - a little sweet, almost a cheesecake :)!
Everything was excellent! Hostess was so friendly. Our server, Sophia, was amazing! Food and drink is always great! Love this place.
Very friendly staff. We did the unlimited brunch. Food was delicious and so many choices! Definitely worth it!
Honestly the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. My friends and I try a different place for brunch every Sunday. This had to be our worst experience. We were being monitored the whole time. We did not feel comfortable eating because we were being watched. The table beside us did not get nearly the same issues out of the same server we had. The food was okay but very mediocre. They tried to over charge us on our bills by adding a automatic gratuity even though our party was less then the policy code of 8, outlined on the website. The manager came to address our problems but claimed we were yelling and shouting. I’m not sure if it was because we were a group of young African Americans or if this is something that always happens in the establishment. We were very frustrated but spoke in a manner that was calm but direct. I will not ever visit this restaurant again.
Stick to your regular menu. Burgers and pizza. Period.
As always, the food was outstanding! The service was great and the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. Highly recommend to anyone that enjoys good food and appreciates a warm setting.
The food was okay, nothing to get excited about. Drinks was okay and the service was blah.
Loved the lobster spaghetti on Christmas Eve! Our favorite local spot. ❤️
As usual service and food did not disappoint. Octopus, arugula salad and halibut were yummy!
Food was great! Service not as good, not very courteous.
Liberty Tavern doesn't disappoint! Loved the smoked turkey sandwich and the brussel sprouts on the side. Our server, Kristin was lovely and attentive!
Great fun for our xmas party. Thank you!!
We opted for the all you can eat small plates. The variety was amazing. The dishes were delicious and served super fast.
Slow service but everything else is incredible
It was great.
A very positive experience for a lunch meeting. Thank you.
The Brussels sprouts are well worth the upcharge to replace French fries that usually will come with the burger. Both the food and service today were great.
Our group selected the brunch. Value is definitely worth the $. Food was delicious and staff was flexible and accommodating. Definitely will dine there again.
First time at the Liberty and in a awesome location, with great food.
Basic American fare, nothing special, but good. Waiter could have been a bit more knowledgeable and helpful; we over ordered considerably for a group of seven. They were very patient however, as most in the group arrived nearly 25 mins late.
The food was outstanding, the service was excellent. The setting was very nice. Highly recommended.
We took our 3 grandkids and we all had an awesome time. The menu is great because there is something for everyone.
We sat upstairs and it felt very safe
Our server was so attentive and understanding with the kids!
Thank you!! I’m sorry but I forget her name but she was great!
Great food, and a good bargain for the quality. Good wine and beer list, and a menu that effectively showcases a wide variety of options. Our server was attentive and personable.
Thanksgiving prix fixe menu was good. Service was very attentive. Would return for the regular menu.
Very disappointed in our Thanksgiving meal. Hubby had the turkey which was dry. I had the prime rib which was tasty but to done for my taste. The mashed potatoes were lack luster and the tough ends of the asparagus had not been removed. My Peartini was awful. My apple pie filling was tasty but the crusts were like trying to eat cardboard. The tables were uncomfortably close together. Felt it was overpriced.
Thanksgiving Dinner -
Ordered prime rib medium rare with green beans substituted for asparagus- received well done dried out meat. Finally after multiple attempts to get waiters attention he brought a medium rare piece but took green beans back and replaced with asparagus- after asking twice for green beans ( can’t eat asparagus due to a diet restriction) gave up.
Desert portions of pie for both my guest and I were considerably smaller than the folks on either side of guests us as well.
So somewhat disappointing night at a normally excellent restaurant.
We ate there on Thanksgiving. The food choices were great & the food was delicious. Our waiter was great.
Food was not hot. Pie was served with a spoon but no fork.
The floor was wet and dirty around the table, the server couldn't hear some requests [?] didn't know the answers to questions and kept dissappearing, then told us the kitchen was closed and gave us the bill. The food was okay.
Went for brunch. Liked everything
Really liked the location, food and service. Good selection on the menu.
Went for brunch and did the all you can eat option. The food was great and so was the service! Will definitely be back.
Food and cocktails were both great and so was the service
Great ambience and the waiter was fantastic!
Last minute dinner plans and Liberty Tavern was the perfect choice for it. Food was delicious and great selection to choose from. Steady for a Sunday but not too crowded which we appreciated. Will definitely be back!
Great food, fantastic service, cool setting.
Great food and service! A very enjoyable experience
