We have been several times for brunch on the weekend and really enjoy it. You can't beat it for the price. Mussles, fried chicken, soups, carved meats, deserts and more.

We love this restaurant and have enjoyed it in every season. I really hate how loud it is—we had a hard of hearing guest with us this last time and it was hard to talk. Service and food were excellent as always.

The service was very good and friendly. The only real downside was that it was freezing and we all had to keep our coats on. That was a bit disconcerting.

Always a great brunch, but it was SO cold in the upstairs dining room a number of our party didn't order drinks, simply because they were too cold to contemplate a cold beverage.

Good to come in here for an early dinner at best. It is a very crowded bar at night and your chances of being able to order food are slim to none. For dinner, their pizzas are amazzzzing and happy hour deals on drinks are pretty decent. Love the shrimp with prosciutto and arugula. Not a big fan of their brunch pizza menu, or their brunch buffet. The bartenders downstairs are friendly and the atmosphere is always upbeat. Best for bar hopping on a weekend night.

Though The Liberty Tavern is in our neighborhood, we hadn't been there in about a year. Fortunately, it really hasn't missed a step in that time. The Liberty Tavern continues to offer solid go-tos -- for example, The Tavern Burger -- and seasonal features. And as odd as it might be to focus on iced tea, The Liberty Tavern serves, hands down, the best fresh-brewed iced tea in just about anywhere.

An outstanding brunch spots just outside of D.C., The Liberty Tavern deftly balances the convenience of buffet style with high-quality and comforting options. You'll have to make a reservation on weekends, thanks OpenTable, and still be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes once you arrive. The only game they could step up is their desert options!

I had been for brunch several times but when I went last year, I found the quality of the food and desserts somehow had fallen off. That impression was reinforced on this most recent visit. Better off sticking to other meals that are still reliably good meals at affordable prices

Went for Sunday lunch and found out they were serving Sunday brunch. The brunch buffet spread was impressive, but both my husband and I decided we couldn’t eat enough to make it worth the price, especially not with a “mimosa” included. We ordered a la carte and had great burgers. The buffet was a great deal for our child who dubbed the sausage “outstanding.”

The night started with the server giving me a taste of three white wines to help me pick the one I liked best. Great way to begin! The wine I chose was very smooth. They moved us when it got too loud in our area. The food was good with generous portions.

Brunch options were very limited. We visited this location for brunch but you were unable to order items off the all you can eat bar individually, making options for brunch minimal.

This restaurant may be different on the weekend, but this was less than enjoyable and over crowded on a Saturday. So loud, and the food and service were poor.

This is one of our neighborhood dining spots with food that is consistently good and more reasonably priced. After going a bit more frequently this summer and fall, I think they need to increase their dinner salad options and vegetarian options. Also, while the decor is appealing, people talk so damn loud that the place becomes a difficult environment for friendly dinner conversations. Not sure what can be done about that but it is becoming problematic. Sound absorption tiles? Changing seating configurations?

I frequent LT. this meal (pork shank) was not their best effort. Dry, not tender and not well presented. Bread was also below their usual. Service was very good and I like the ambiance

Great time as usual. Go to LT twice per year on average and never disappointed with the service or food. The warm mixed greens app was not on par for us (too acidic), but that is a rarity.

Recently had my first meal at the Liberty Tavern in Clarendon. I will definitely be back! My friend had a freshly made vegetarian pizza, which looked great. Handmade thin crust, wood-fired. I had the rigatoni with meatballs which was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in quite a while. The sauce had a nice meld of spices and flavors, the meat was very tasty and the homemade pasta was cooked just right. We were able to have a nice conversation due to the low noise level.

Fun restaurant with nice ambience and very good service. The food was a disappointment for us! The fried green tomato appetizer had an odd off-taste-none of us could figure out what was in the batter and pimento cheese to give that strange taste. Simple fried green tomatoes with a light arugula and sauce choice would have been fine. The peanuts are just weird and the pimento cheese just did not seem to fit the dish. We had the pumpkin/chocolate s'more dessert-it was WAY too sweet and heavy. Breads were good, tomato soup and grilled cheese good but it was as if the chef couldn't stop adding things to make the food special. Less is more, guys.

Really disappointed by our experience. Have been coming to Liberty Tavern brunch for over five years. This time the quality of food took a huge nose dive, and it felt like they added extra tables to the dining room. It was way too cramped and uncomfortable to the point of feeling claustrophobic. They even tried to seat a group of seven people at a table that usually seats four or five max.

Food was plentiful, fresh, and good, per usual. Service continues to suffer, however, including long wait times between servers' visits and some ship-tightening required, to wit: server brought out a carafe of OJ which had something (likely old tea leaves) swirling around in it. Would also have been nice to have been offered clean flatware....

Typically, Liberty Tavern has delicious food and solid service. I've visited maybe 4-5 times in the past year and always enjoyed it. This visit was disappointing due to the service. It took 15 minutes for the waiter to provide menus or even speak with us. It took an extremely long time to get even the most basic service. The waiter was never rude just completely inattentive. It was a busy Friday night but still. The food was okay but not stellar. I had the tuna steak and my partner had a pizza. We both ordered drinks. They were fine but we never had the opportunity to order a second round.

We'll return and hope the service on this night was an aberration.

Pizza was great! I would definitely go back for the pizza and the drinks. Drinks were excellent and better than some of the top restaurants I have been to. Burgers are another plus. I had a couple of bites of my niece's burger and it was delicious. Service was over the top excellent. We never had to want for anything. He was always right there to see to our needs. In fact we gave him a huge tip because he was very good. Garlic bread was yummy. We will be going back.

We ate on the first floor. While the food was really good it took forever for the food to arrive . We waited more than 30 minutes for our food. And the people next to us got their food before us even though they came well after us. If you don't mind waiting it's a cool spot with good food. For just 2 drinks and a pizza the whole dining experience took an hr and 45 mins.
