The Liberty Tavern
Liberty Tavern is usually one of our safe bets. The food was good but the service was very slow. Perhaps the bar was backed up but we didn't get checked on very often. While I still like Liberty Tavern it is starting to show its age. It is starting to look much more like a bar than a restaurant.
I went there for brunch. It was an amenable experience overall. The food is good and fresh but not outstanding.
Had a great experience. Service was quick and the food was outstanding.
Wonderful ambiance with very good casual dining with a unique menu offering.
Great service, waiter and very attentive and food is really good
Service was horrible. Had to wait over 30 minutes just to get our bill. Food was good
Fun for Gal-entines Day with friends. Appetizers were creative.
Good food. We were there during happy hour so it was very crowded and noisy. On some occasions this would’ve been fine, but I was trying to catch up with a relative over dinner. Not the restaurants fault so no hit against them. It’s a popular place for good reason. The service was really good considering how busy it was. Great place to go after work for mingling. I’ve been there for a Sunday Brunch before and it was really good then too.
the food was delicious and it was a fun atmosphere.
Always a good experience very at Liberty Tavern.
Best brunch I’ve ever had, I always go to Liberty Tavern when in Washington DC. I highly recommend eating there...
Went out to dinner with my sister for NYE! The service was exceptional!
Outstanding dinner with imaginative preparation. Trendy spot so a little noisy but the food was well worth it.
Great place to get together with family!
Very good service and food was great and very quick. Good service and selection at the bar.
Good food. Way too loud.
Very disappointed with the service, food and overall ambiance. Went on Friday during restaurant week. Only one waitress for over 50 people upstairs. Service was slow and food was OK, nothing like I had expected seeing all the reviews. While it has atmosphere - it was very noisy and not very clean. Floor and handrail going upstairs were sticky. Food service door to the upstairs kitchen and elevator door looked like it hasn't been cleaned in several months. I was glad I went there on restaurant week and got a good deal on the meal but I would be hard pressed to go again during the normal restaurant week.
Whoa, that was delicious!! It's been awhile since we'd eaten at The Liberty Tavern and I'd really forgotten how excellent it is. The vibe, service, wines and cocktails are always really great, but the food was off the charts! We shared Aroncini (and could've ordered 4 more plates), burratta with roasted acorn squash, and grilled octopus starters, then were knocked out by the Amish chicken, seared tuna and pork chop entrees. The dessert menu looked amazing, but we just couldn't, after all that. Way to go, Liberty Tavern!! We can't wait to come back for more!
Don’t let the word “tavern” in the name fool you, this is not pub food. Consistently excellent food across diverse dishes.
Bar seating was very uncomfortable
Liberty tavern is pretty busy on Friday nights, so I made a reservation for a table by the bar. When I showed up, they said they are busy and theirs no tables available for a while... Isn't that the point of the reservation?
We ended up going somewhere else.
Excellent service, from pre arrival, to post! Staff is super pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Food was very delicious as were the drinks, coffee, and cocktails. Superb experience. Highly recommend and I will return!
The food was exceptional. The atmosphere was very pleasant (upstairs dining area is better if you plan on having a conversation). The table attendants were on point all night. I'm from Pittsburgh but ill definitely come back when I'm in the V.A. area
Have been to Liberty Tavern several times over the last few years and once again found the experience outstanding for our group. Food offerings covered range of interests for our group, ranging from kids' means to seafood, pasta, steaks. Rave reviews for the filet as well as the flat iron steak. Less enthusiastic review for rigatoni and meatballs. Service was excellent.
Everything was great. Food was delicious and although it was a busy day service was fast and food was fresh.
Great ambiance in a beautiful & colonial setting. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was friendly & attentive. The food was delicious, starting with the bread, all the way through to desert, but the star was the turkey pot pie. The best pot pie ever. So much turkey &?flakey pastry topping. Ate the whole thing & it is big. Wasn’t hungry until dinner the next day.
The New Years Day brunch was excellent. A wide variety of breakfast and lunch items to choose from and they were all delicious. I recommend the brioche French toast and the meats from the carver station. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Definitely coming back.
Saw waiter only two times, to take order and bring check. A very busy night but crowd was extremely loud. Table next of 22 was very loud loud and profane. Had to ask three times for drink refills came at the same time we got our check. Fillet was raw, never got water refills or bread. When the waiter finally came to ask if it filet could be redone partner was already finished and it was too late.
I have been to the Liberty Tavern before and the service was good and the food tasty. It did not disappoint when I went back a few days ago.
I stayed for the New Year's Eve countdown and it was a fun, festive atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend the Libery Tavern for someone who wants to get a delicious meal with good service.
Went to dinner for New Year’s Eve. It was a great experience. Ambience was lively and people were having a good time. The one down side was the price on the New Year’s Eve special menu was a bit high for the food served. Don’t get me wrong food was delicious, but still not really worth the high price. And also parking was a bit difficult but that’s given taking into account the area the restaurant is in. Overall definitely a good experience and would definitely recommend the restaurant
We were four persons. We ordered four different items. All four were considered sub-standard. We were very disappointed. Service was friendly and helpful. Upstairs dining room is a good idea since downstairs bar is very noisy. Upstairs was moderate in sound levels. Food was really bad.
Came for brunch with the family. Food for every age. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
After waiting 15-20 minutes for our reservation (which we completely understand) it took 45 minutes-hour to receive our appetizers. We flagged our waiter down to ask about them and he was not aware that they hadn't been delivered. A manager did come by to apologize. Then our side vegetable did not arrive with our dinners. They were not on top of the kitchen.
Burger was rare and missing egg
Restaurant was not very busy but we had to look for our waiter for our check.
Steak and cheese sandwich is $23
Will try other restaurants in Arlington before coming back.
The downstairs was excruciatingly loud, but upstairs was just right
Food good. Really busy.
When we arrived they had our reservation but also they said they had blocked open table and were not taking reservations from them. That was strange and has not happened before. It is always crowded and loud there. There is a busy bar scene downstairs with dining up the stairs. Service was great. The food hit or miss. My Arancini appetizer was good. My burger was undercooked. My wife's red pie was good. The tables are too close for my comfort. We have been there 3 times on Friday night's and it is always full.
Went to Liberty Tavern for a birthday brunch. Food was great: nice selection of both breakfast and lunch options on the buffet. A good time had by all!
We made a reservation later than I meant to but we were able to JUST squeeze into the main dining room (not bar) since my daughter has a leg injury. The staff was very accommodating and only asked that we wait a little longer. The food was incredible!!
