The food was pretty good, but not outstanding. The buffet area is very tight and if it is crowded, it is difficult to enter the area because it is a compact area without a line to join. That being said, there is a good variety of dishes, including a carving station. The beef at the carving station was quite good, but they only give you one small slice at a time. Be sure to ask for a second slice because, like I said, it can be tricky entering the buffet area. My husband said the mussels were good, and I enjoyed the tomato soup. The French toast has a good vanilla flavor and the syrup was nice and warm. We all had Bloody Marys and they came with a large shot of beer. If we happen to be in the area again, we would consider going back.

Had a great buffet brunch on St. Patricks Day. The vibe was fun and despite the crowds for this special day, we were able to enjoy ourselves without having to yell at each. And most importantly, the food was spectacular.

Brunch was delicious! Unfortunately, the music was way too loud so we had trouble holding a conversation with our friends.

I would recommend only if looking for a place very close to the Clarendon subway stop. It is a pleasant setting and our server did an excellent job. The menu choices and the quality of the food were unremarkable and not a particularly good value.

As always, the food and service were great at Liberty Tavern. It is one of the few places the whole family likes. The restaurant is lively and loud on the weekends–so don't go there on a Saturday night expecting a romantic quiet dinner conversation.

I had high hopes for this place due to word-of-mouth recommendations. I was firmly disappointed. Service was quite poor, the buffet food was bland and lacked selection, and the place was so SOOOO loud with a bunch of intoxicated white girls screaming about their personal lives; god forbid you trying to have a decent conversation with family.. I will never go back to this place...I don't even know why I'm giving it 2 out of 5 stars. It surely deserved a 1 star based on our experience. Incredibly underwhelming.

The food was really good and for only $24 you get a buffet with lots of brunch staples. My complaint is that I had a reservation for 12:30 and wasn’t seated until 12:55... what’s the point in making a reservation if you still have to wait 25 minutes?

The food was consistently good, as we compared it to our last visit. The noise level was lower, but the food more than compensates for it. Keep up the great work. This just may become our weekly spot.

We had a nice dinner but the quality of the food was not up to what it once was. My lovely roasted potatoes became soggy since they were sitting under the sauced fish. Bread basket rolls still delish. Service was very good. Won't be hurrying back.

Great Buffet for Sunday brunch! Everything was well prepared and very tasty. Don't think Ive seen deviled eggs on a buffet very often, but these were incredible. Creamy grits, crispy bacon, fried chicken--WOW.

Great place to eat - we were visiting daughter in Arlington. Downstairs looked inviting but louder - nice bar. Upstairs was nice buffet for Saturday Brunch. A bit expensive and we didn't seem to find a lot of food we liked on the buffet, but the waiter (Austin) was great and offered us a take home box for some desserts. We were probably looking for a little more healthy options.
Also two families with young children were next to us - great place for kids - they were welcomed and had high chairs at the ready.

The Liberty Tavern is one of our stand-bys: you can count on it for consistently good food and service at a reasonable price. Our most recent experience was no different. My partner had the Vermont pizza, which is fantastic. I started with the calamari, which was fine - nothing spectacular or noteworthy, but fine. I then had the squash gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts. My reaction was more of "meh" than I am used to having at Liberty Tavern, but not bad. I think it was more an issue of the dish not being what I anticipated when I ordered it than anything else. The panna cotta dessert was fabulous - really, really good!
As usual, the service was excellent. You really cannot go wrong here. It's good to have a place like this to count on for consistency.

It's ONLY great for a last minute brunch spot, walking distance from your apartment but me and a few friends came from Baltimore and Montgomery County, Maryland to eat here. I called and was informed that they don't do bottomless mimosas because they really "focus on the food." We had the brunch buffet...we should've just ordered a la carte. There was NO focus on the food, from tasteless quiche, a strange "carving station" which we were confused if we cut the meat ourselves or if someone was to cut for us...No one was ever there when we approached. The salad options lacked flavor, the bacon and sausage were overcooked, and the French toast was hard. The mimosas we ordered were good as well the tomato soup, Mac and cheese (white béchamel sauce) and the crostini. Service wasn't that great either, our waitress barely smiled and was pretty difficult to get her attention in such a small space. Other than that, waste of gas, money, appetite. We will not be going back.

The service was just ok. Noice level was fair.

My wife had the gnocchi which was very good and I had the Lobster special. The risotto was really tasty but the lobster tail was not fresh. I was sick for two hours after we ate. I grew up in Boston and used to buy lobster from a lobster fisherman and know how it should taste. The claws were fine but the tail was stringy and not as firm as it should have been. I worked on Cape Cod at very good restaurant and those lobster were alive before they were cooked. That bad boy I was served was dead for a while before it was cooked.

We went to the Liberty Tavern, based on the lunch menu posted on Open Table. It was a Saturday, and we were not expecting a full brunch menu, with limited lunch options. It was a disappointment, because we were looking forward to several of the lunch items we had seen listed, which were not available during brunch. Brunch used to be a Sunday thing - why do some many restaurants, including Liberty Tavern, have to push it out to Saturday, as well? It is really limiting for those of us who want a full lunch on Saturday, and save our brunch experiences for Sunday, where they belong.

Sunday brunch never disappoints. Something for everyone... Even my picky eater kids! Beverage service was a little lacking once it became clear we were opting for the brunch, but the staff was very accommodating in seating a party of 5 upstairs (when OpenTable had suggested none were available).

Every few months there are four of us that get together to catch up on what is happening in our lives. This time we were celebrating a birthday. The restaurant was really busy that evening and the waiter had three tables all at once. One of the fiends asked if we were too indecisive and he said no. He did mention the three tables all at one time. The comment may have made him aware he looked frustrated. Soon we received a complimentary appetizer. We were very grateful and it was unexpected. I would still go back to Liberty Tavern. The food was good and the service was good too.
