The Liberty NYC
The Liberty's 4000 square foot venue is perfect for social distancing.
The Liberty Bar itself, embodies the spirit of the city she serves; the Liberty to be one’s self. The Liberty is located at 29 West 35th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, just steps from Herald Square. The space is elegant but informal with soaring 18ft ceilings. The venue is a marriage of the classic and the contemporary of New York.

Service was slow. Food was not good. Pizzas were soggy. Tomato soup tasted like tomato paste.
Close to MSG, friendly staff, great place to watch something on the big screen
The food and drinks were very good. Would definitley go back.
Attentive service. Nice space to meet with friends.
Service was perhaps a bit over-solitucious with repeated questions of 'are you ready to order yet?', 'is everything ok?' 'are you ready for us to clear?'. And still our little requests like lemon for tea, extra napkins, or more water were forgotten. Food was just Ok.
The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The outside setup with couches and heaters feels like you’re sitting in your living room. Still open air so it feels safe. Great spot.
Exclente Todo, muy buen servicio y muy buena la Comida.
Great food, fun feel, and nice folks. Had a great time watching our college football bowl game there.
Disappointed as soon as we got our apps, couldn't even touch our entrees as they definitely didn't smell good. Gave the food back right away. The wine was very average although I didn't expect much. Won't be coming here again.
reservation for the 24th, table placed in the middle of the entrance in full air, we were really not comfortable, there were other free tables, but one of the waiters we asked to be placed elsewhere refused, so we drank 2 cokes and went to eat our Christmas meal elsewhere. I didn't want to eat a Christmas meal in the cold. on the other hand, the waiter who served us the cokes was friendly and was not responsible for our bad placement.
Christmas Eve dinner
Food was great. Good portions.
great place to eat outdoors in winter! super friendly service w/great happy hour drinks.
Outside seating on sofas underneath good heaters is awesome on a winter evening. Excellent service, good atmosphere and good food! Who needs to risk indoor dining with this set-up?
A true gem smack in the middle of midtown. Premier location, great outdoor dining space, good food, and incredible staff!
Great atmosphere outside on couches. Food was good. Server was great.
We ate outside due to uptick in pandemic, thus the 3 star ambiance rating. They have good heated and seating in outdoor space but no protection from other guests. We enjoyed our lunch. My guest and I shared a Caesar salad. Size was shareable and good tasting dressing. My guest had the chili. Chili thick, beefy and tasty. Chips needed salt. I had the grilled cheese with soap. Excellent sandwich properly grilled including some overflow cheese that caramelized nicely. Soap was delicious but I felt needed some hot sauce to give it some kick. Entrees came piping hot. Service was very professional but think they got busy enough to need one more server.
Food was meh. Server was very nice, but not particularly attentive.
Great food, in a fun pub environment. The waitstaff was very attentive and lovely as well. We will definitely be back!
The wife & I ate in the Shed and it was very comfortable. The waitstaff was sociable and efficient. The Oysters were briny & fresh and our meals came out in a very reasonable amount of time. The price was fair for what we ate and it was well cooked and very tasty
A wonderful spot busy neighborhood
High top and living room set up inside big bar
We sat outside nice set up traditional tables and lounge area
Host was courteous honored reservation on time
Waitress Maria first class attentive pleasant prompt
Read out comments knew we had a show no rush but right on team
Drinks well done food solid
Perfect spot pre garden event
Such great food! And the happy hour was well priced! The servers were so kind and helpful, we went for my birthday and I would gladly go again!
The food was not good. The food and service did not match the reviews. Restaurante was too loud. It was our anniversary and we didn’t enjoy anything.
We took our families to The Liberty for dinner and they sat us at 6 foot folding tables in their basement. No table cloths were used and the manager walked us through the back of the house down the stairs instead of through the bar/restaurant. It was very bizarre and not a good ambience at all for our families. I would not recommend The Liberty for dining, only for drinking/eating in the bar.
We gathered in one of the outdoor/curbside kiosks, which was quite comfortable with sofas, heat lamps and a barrier with plastic sheeting on the traffic side of the street. Was great for our drinks/noshes get-together before the holidays.
The service and owner were courteous and very accommodating.
Birthday brunch at the Liberty was great. The staff worked as a team. Bottomless mimosas were great. Food was excellent.
Food was good, service was good, but very loud and took a while to get our food. We ordered within 10 minutes of arriving, but did not get our food until 40 minutes later. Our app arrived after our meal. Overall, a good spot if you want to watch a game, but not for date night.
The ambience, food and cocktails were very good. The service was very slow and we were never really sure who or waiter/waitress was.
We had a great time. Sat outside with the heaters, super cute with lights and leather chairs and sofas, and didn't have to even wear our coats and it was in the evening. The only hick-up is we were seated right away but no one came to our table for almost half an hour. Not even waters. But our waiter Devone made up for it. He was fantastic and we had drinks within 5 minutes and food shortly thereafter. Food was well prepared, drinks were perfect and the prices were very reasonable for NYC.
A great place to go after a game at Madison Square Garden (MSG) or anytime if you want some very good food, excellently prepared and a feeling of good cheer. The atmosphere is friendly, the service is excellent and the servers are very competent in getting your food and drinks to you in the fastest time possible. Sometimes a very large crowd may slow this down a bit, but overall it's an excellent choice for comfort food in a comfortable place. The owners of this establishment have done a great job in understanding what the customer needs and wants.
Young crowd; food more expensive than it should be; good service overall.
I would only recommend this place for those planning to do some heavy day drinking on one of their bottomless booze days (weekends I think). It's the perfect place to catch the game over multiple drinks, but the food is aggressively mediocre at best, the service wasn't much better, and the $25 bottomless option is only worth it if everyone plans to have at least three of the included drinks. Be advised that if one person does bottomless, everyone at the table has to ($25 per person), and there are time limits involved.
Good place, good pizza
Not a huge list of choices but was very well prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. Buzz is delightful, service timely but not intrusive. Definitely planning a return trip with friends.
Extensive menu, friendly service!
Service was great..prices are a little high but that’s midtown for you
Sat outside and the ambiance was perfect! Beautiful couches and tables. It was 40 degrees and they had heaters above every table so we were able to remove our coats. Food was outstanding! Servers were pleasant.
It was overall a great experience . Service and food was Great!
