The Leopard Lounge and Restaurant - The Chesterfield Hotel Ratings and Reviews
I have been to the Leopard Lounge a number of times. Unfortunately this last time, on Christmas day of 2017, did not provide as good an experience as other times. The service wasn't great (the server seemed overworked), and the food was not the quality that I expected. Three of us (out of five) had prime rib, but only one came with au jus -- meaning that the other two tasted dry. We requested au jus for the other two plates, but by the time it came, the prime rib had gotten cold. The menu was price fixe, which meant that the selection was rather limited. The decor, of course, was exceptional, and that salvaged the experience. But at over $800 for five people we expected a bit more.
Here's what I don't understand. We were attending Christmas Eve Day Mass in Palm Beach and looking for a place to have dinner either before or after so I looked on OpenTable, there was not a lot available but I particularly wanted to go to the Chesterfield Hotel (Leopard Lounge) as it is quite quaint and cozy. But, there was nothing available (supposedly) except a 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. Naturally, I thought the restaurant must be fully booked for the evening and would be bustling with activity and Christmas Cheer. Not so. In fact, when we arrived there was only 2 other tables occupied..one with a family obviously staying there and one with an obnoxious man and a mortified wife (?). When we left after dinner 2 hours later, only one other party had arrived. The place was deserted. We thought perhaps there had been a mandatory evacuation on Palm Beach or at least...a mandatory evacuation of the Chesterfield Hotel/Leopard Lounge and we had't gotten the alert. Hmmm...can't help but feel we were gamed by the OpenTable reservation system into an early dinner...and an expensive fixed price one at that. Never again.
In town for a family wedding; Chesterfield Hotel is a favorite. Continental breakfast came with our room rate, which was an excellent choice: self-serve except for hot cooked oatmeal, European and American selections are of good variety and thank you for the plain yogurt! If one does not select the Continental option, you have a US$10 credit toward menu items (check your bill: ours went from $60+ to $28 with the correction). The Eggs Benedict and French Toast were both excellent. The best part of the dining experience is the courtyard itself. Relaxing and restorative, as is staying st the Chesterfield.
We went on a Tuesday night, and although the restaurant was not full, the food was AMAZING, and the bar scene really lively. I loved the piano player/singer. It's definitely a treasure in Palm Beach, and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did.
We have been coming here for a number of years. This time the band was as noisy as a rock concert. We were far away from the music and still found it hard to have a conversation with our table. We asked for the music to be turned down a bit, to no avail. It will be a long time until we go back. Too bad.
Went for "Flavor Palm Beach" menu was offered right up front along with their normal menu. This was one of the pricier restaurants but worth every cent. Service was excellent on this evening but even though the bar area was busy there were few diners in the restaurant proper. The food from the first course on was outstanding. My appetizer crab cake was large enough to add a salad and call it a meal. The filet mignon was perfect and cooked exactly as ordered. Chocolate lava cake with ice cream was our chosen dessert, extremely rich and very decadent. We dine out frequently and very few go completely as expected, but the Leopard Lounge nailed a perfect meal.
Had the Afternoon Tea at the Hotel once and noticed the restaurant which looked really cool. Turns out the food is really good as well. The décor is in a word 'swanky', kind of old Palm Beach but in a good way. It's dark and romantic. There's even some light dancing if you choose and the piano player was a perfect accompaniment. Turns out we went on a Prime rib Tuesday which was delicious and a great value. Lobster risotto also perfect. Special Occasion for us and
with the service, the beautiful room and the food it couldn't have been better at the Lounge.
Dining in The Leopard Lounge and Afternoon Tea in the Library of the Chesterfield Hotel are very memorable!!!! The service is professional and most attentive!! The variety of food offered is wonderful. Our server Dahlia is outstanding. The Restaurant Manager Carl is very friendly and extremely hands on!! Thank you all for making the celebration of my friend's 90th Birthday so special!!
Been staying @ The Chesterfield for years and have always taken at least one meal during our long (4 day/3 night) weekends in The Leopard Lounge. We've never been disappointed with the food or service! This past weekend we created a party of 15 for Staurday dinner and heard no complaints from anyone (including as to the live music)! The service was courteous, professional, and prompt. The food was exceptional! Next year we'll double our party size!
The atmosphere was exceptional. The food was off the charts delicious! The price is high but worth the money for the experience and quality of the food. We loved it. We were on a date (married 20+ years but still date like we just met) and being dressed up with my husband in a romantic beautiful environment was worth it and wonderful.
Sadly, my daughter and I arrived for our afternoon tea reservation. We were brought to the tea room and all of the tables were dirty and full of dirty dishes. We were told to wait so they could find someone to clean. No one cleaned, so after waiting for 25 minutes we had to leave
I cannot say enough good things about our experience at the Leopard Lounge-
The ambiance was delightful, the service on-point, and the food was absolutely divine.
I am quite willing to sing the praises of the sticky toffee pudding from every rooftop I encounter.
Beef and vegetables soup was outstanding, so was Chilean Sea Bass. Cesar salad was very fresh and tasty. Bread is something else. The best I ever had in the continental 50 states. We just couldn't order desert, because we were so full. They had some live music that actually wasn't offensive on the ears. The place was relatively quiet, so we could talk to each other. It was very easy to make reservation for Friday evening one day in advance. May be because prices were high. To me it was worth it.
