The LCL Bar & Kitchen NYC
Very good service, attentive and kind. Food was tasty. Wine was a good choice but very over-priced.
Food was delicious and the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Starters were Manhattan clam chowder and main entree was turkey BLT with fries. Very filling and it will be our late night snack. Will definitely be back.
Rubbish food used way too much salt and the service was shocking
Compliments to Octavia who did an excellent job taking care of us.
Food was good but a little pricey but expected as its located inside the Westin hotel. Very convenient since we were staying there. Very dead atmosphere for a NYC restaurant on a Saturday night - only 2 other tables being served. Service was slow but food was satisfying. We were tired thats why we reserved that restaurant plus it had rave reviews. Probably just order off room service next time.
It's just a hotel restaurant. Our Waitress was absent the entire night. She wasn't even in the room to flag down. Food was overpriced.
Everything is good except they’re lack of waitress.
The cocktails were amazing and the bartender was really pleasant..Our meal was delicious and our waitress was very attentive. It was our wedding anniversary and we were over from Ireland for a couple of days..overall we had a lovely experience..Thank you..hopefully we will be back in the future..
LCL was great! The food and service were excellent and the cocktail list is fun too. Definitely a hotel restaurant though so if you’re looking for a cool vibe or hip hangout I would say pass on this place.
I liked that they had fresh juices and organic items on the menu. The food was very good
Hotel restaurants can be good...this one was not. The toast was not buttered and was so cold by the time I received butter it would not melt. Omelette was very good but potatoes were cold as well...server was inattentive and when we do flag someone down they were in NO hurry to assist...I say at this Westin frequently but never dined on premise and will not again.
The service was unbelievably bad. I've been here before and the service has never been great (just okay), but this time, it was surreal. It wasn't busy, and yet we couldn't get a server to pay attention to us. Moreover, they forgot our appetizers completely, so we ended up just paying for the drinks and leaving. The best part of the LCL Bar is its location. You don't come here for the experience.
We enjoyed the food mostly tried a variety of their menu. Is a good place for lunch on a day to day basis.
This place is a hotel bar/restaurant of the Westin, and that's it. It's a gray rectangular room they slapped some tables into. A place serving "creative cocktails and a seasonal menu in a contemporary setting inspired by nature" as stated on Opentable is misleading at best. This is a generic, disappointing hotel bar/restaurant. It's like a "fancy" train station restaurant. I'd only recommend this place if you were staying at the Westin and were too lazy or tired to venture out. Food was basic, nothing special and over-priced. Ambiance was dismal and the decor is bleak. Pass on this place; it's not a restaurant you choose but rather accept out of pure necessity.
Good spot by grand central for breakfast --not too noisy but there were kids there bc they were probably staying at the hotel. (I was at a breakfast business meeting otherwise I am happy to have kids there!)
Absolutely loved it. 10/10 would go again. Asked for a rose (gfs bday) and they delivered!
Great food, attentive service from waitress, Connie, who was very helpful and efficient and generally looked after us very well.
Nice variety of dishes to suit most palates.
We had a new years eve dinner at the LCL, the menu was not inspiring and hugely overpriced for what we got in our plates. We had dinner, that's it. I would not recommend this place.
Pretty good for a hotel lobby restaurant. Food was very nice. Service wasn't particularly attentive, but we certainly didn't feel rushed. Was suitable for a business lunch.
This was a get together with my BFF's. It was a good place to meet and have drinks. The service was good and the ambiance was good for us. We didn't want a big heavy meal so the personal pizzas were a good option for us and they were delicious!
The food was good, the service was good. The noise level was very high, so we huddled together in a corner table so we could talk without shouting.
This restaurant was horrific. I met my friend who had just flow into NYC from the west coast and no one came over to our table for over 20 minuets to give us menus and take a drink order. We waited another 15 mins for the drinks to be made. We did not stay and eat here. We left and went to a reliable restaurant in the neighborhood.
Due to the US Assembly happening in the city the place was in a mess. But that's understandable, what bothered us was that after waiting for 40 mins for 3 bagels and a egg frittatta the food which was served was cold and the managers estimate of when the ordered will be delivered was way off. Not a ideal scenario of good breakfast business meeting.
The food was terrible. Risotto looked like barley with canned vegetables. Grilled cheese was greasy. For lunch, the restaurant filled up quickly with only one server for the entire place. Drinks were not refilled until we were practically choking from thirst. No one checked on us the entire time. I will be sure to tell my friends not to go here ever.
Service was slow... awfully long wait time. It had a small menu. Giving 3 stars for food taste and service and price very much sub-par.
This place, located in a bustling part of midtown NYC needs to figure out how to deliver a simple breakfast order in a reasonable time. We ordered after finally capturing the waiter's attention and then sat for 40 minutes without any acknowledgement other than the delivery of our coffees.
Terrible service. Waited 10 minutes. Never had a server even make eye contact. Walked out. Lots of other options in NYC.
I work across the street from the LCL, so it is very convenient for business lunches, however the experience is completely inconsistent. One day the service is great for a 1 hour lunch, and during this visit, our food took SO long that i had to wrap my food and leave before my guests finished theirs--TERRIBLE experience and not one that left a good impression on my clients....Not the first time this has happened, and probably wont be the last--but I keep going there because the restaurant is so convenient--I will probably need to find a new place to do a 1-hour business lunch....it would be worth the walk of a block or two.
Clients recommended and it was perfect for a 6-person lunch. Service was attentive. They had no problem with a member of our party running very late. They sat and served us, and had the straggler's lunch ready for him when he arrived. Very relaxed environment, great food, overall good experience. I definitely plan to go back.
Service was painfully slow but accommodating of food allergies and special requests (egg whites, warm toast, fruit allergies etc). Eggs with bacon and fruit @ $10 is on the higher side even for the midtown crowd. Good cappuccinos.
Chose this place hoping for a nice, but quiet and relaxed atmosphere. And the atmosphere was good. Very underpopulated at 7:30 on a Monday to see an old friend, which was exactly what I'd hoped for. Chili was great, friend's salmon only okay. Service was oddly negligent, given how few patrons there were. Took forever to get our drink order in (though that and the food arrived in a timely fashion once our orders were taken.) But couldn't get a water refill to save our lives, and the waitress missed out on what likely would have been a last round if she'd only asked. Practically had to trip her to get the check. But my friend and I were able to chat without being crowded for space or time, so I'll probably give it another shot before I cross it off my list.
We were looking for a quick and good lunch spot for a business catch up. The food was basic good lunch fare and the service was excellent. Will definitely make this one of my "place to go" moving forward
Basic but flavorful menu. Excellent cocktail and spirits selection. More of a bar than a restaurant but the food was good. Good value.
Unfortunately my comments are not positive.
The Thanksgiving dinner at the LCL Bar had no taste whatsoever.
The stuffing was not good either. The waitress serving us seemed in a hurry to serve us and get rid of us.
For the price paid we expected a better dinner.
Went for breakfast. I had the French toast which was wonderful. Very large portion with lots of berries. My sister had the pancakes. It was also a huge portion, but the taste was a bit strange. They weren't bad, just different than the southern buttermilk pancakes we are used to. Mother had a croissant & it was light, buttery & flaky - very good! We split the side order of bacon which was enough for the 3 of us..probably 6 slices of bacon on the plate. The only real hiccup was that the waitress charged my card for the wrong table, so we had to wait around for her to correct that.
We were looking for a place to eat after the dreaded 10:30pm hour when the kitchens in NYC seem to all close. Thought this would work well as they showed reservation times til at least 11:15. When we arrived shortly before 11pm we were given the "late night menu" which was extremely abbreviated. Not what you would expect when making a "dinner reservation". When we got to our table our server seemed to think that the kitchen was already closed and that we could not eat at all. They managed to finally serve us a cold cheese and meat plate. The noise level was extreme. All hard surfaces.
